I can't wait for your helical tutorial. I'm eager to try the technique, but a a newer knitter a bit hesitant due to the possible challenges I might need to figure out.
That is clever. I love helical stripes, with solid cuffs, heels and toes, but I hadn’t known how to set up the two yarns so that I picked up all the stitches in my contrast yarn, after having worked the heel flap. Thank you!
My socks have two grey rows for one red with a red heel so it’s a bit different but your video should help me figure out how to go about it. Thank you!
My pleasure. I have another video which I made after getting the same question earlier in the year. Hope it helps 😁ruclips.net/video/CHuoZK5BquA/видео.html
Hi, this is a good video for 2 colour knitting Helix but I'm using 3 colours. I'm a visual learner and have not been able to find video for 3 colours. Could you please do a video Helix knitting when you have 3 different colours divided up evenly with no slipped stitches? Thank you
I'd love to help. Are you asking specifically for the heel flap set up or are you asking for just the helix knitting ? And can you please clarify what you mean by divided up evenly ?
Hi! I am mid way through a pair of socks with 4 colors (AND it's toe up which I read you don't do -FYI you will love them! ). So with multiple colors WHAT do I do with color strands "hanging out" on the heel side? I have thought about noting where the color changes occur (stitch 10, stitch 18) and cutting (I know but its a lot of rows to carry the color up). Is that the best option? I've seen a lot of socks w/helical with lost of colors and this all works out but my brain is not computing! Thanks so much for any help you or anyone else can give!
Great Video just started a Hexi sock and want a contrast heel and maybe toe. Just did a hat with 3 colors. Thank you . What brand are your knitting needles.
Thank you for the tutorial, this is a great help! But I can't wrap my head around one thing: What do I do, when the 3 slipped stitches are at the parts of the sock where I do the gusset decreases? I understand helical knitting but that part is still a mystery to me as I can't slip the stitches when I have to decrease...?
Hi, I can make a video for you if it will help but in the mean time I will try to explain it over text. There are two options, you can work the decrease earlier than usual, this wont affect the fit but it will be visible. Or more preferably you can move the colour change on. So you slip the stitches over to where the next yarn is, you work a few more stitches, then you slip backwards to where the previous yarn is and you can work the decrease there. I hope that that makes sense :)
@@elliementalist6716 Thank you for your answer! I think I understand what you explained. It will probably make even more sense to me once I have the heel in front of me. I would love a video about this, if possible but I understand that making these videos takes a very long time so please don't feel pressured.
@@elliementalist6716 I did it!!! The heel and gusset are done, thanks to your tutorial and your explanation - Thank you SO much! I love how the sock is turning out and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Will be using helical knitting for lots of socks from now on! Yaaaaay :D
@@elliementalist6716 Thank you, this has been bugging me since I did my first helical socks because I prefer the heel flap and gusset... it stopped me ever doing helical again actually. I will save the written instructions but my old brain would really appreciate the visual learning from a video if it's not too much trouble for you? I've asked about this question and how to deal with it of many people but nobody could really answer it so now, it looks like there might be light at the end of the tunnel!☺
I'm about to find out-I have almost finished the foot but I'm working in 4 colors and my brain is not sorting out what to do to get to the color I need (alt color toe/heel/cuff). AND what to do with all the strands hanging out! Asking above!
Came over thanks to a tip from Denise @earthtonesgirl podcast. Thank you for this!!!

It's such a pleasure. I am so glad that this was useful for you!
Just what I needed to see without all the sock construction bits. Thank you. I love DPNs but I may try magic loop for this.
I am so glad it was helpful! Good luck :)
Thank you for the tutorial. It’s just what I needed.
Glad it helped!
Thank you. Very easy to understand and informative and clear on how to place the stitches

My pleasure! In this video I am using Knit pro zing needles, 2.5mm thick and the cable is 80cm long.
@@elliementalist6716 how are these needles, do you recommend them and the double points?.

Is it possible to do helix heel turn on toe up socks??
