Have just had that surgery for a macular hole, and the worse part is the posturing required , mine was only three days . A week down the line and the gas bubble is way down in my line of sight. Looking forward to seeing much better than I did .😎🇬🇧👍
This video is so old now, an update is needed. I'm having the surgery this week, hope there are no problems. The hole is small, just discovered it 4 months ago, when I got new glasses. I barely notice it. Hope I'm not rushing the surgery.
I had two macular hole surgery in Canada and hole did not close. Doctor said they will not attempt 3rd vitrectomy surgery. I would like my hole to be closed, is there any other way? If yes, please give me a reference. Thank you
I had a retina tear and macular hole. They were able to repair my retina, but not the macular hole. It never closed. To this date it still hasn't closed.
My mother she toll me that the hole doesn't close in first surgery , znd he got bigger and bigger what i need to do next step Wich countys are the best for this situation
i have undergone through vitrectomy surgery 35 days ago, but still gas has not been absorbed and visibility is blurred. pl advise steps to absorb gas bubblles
Thank you. A vitrectomy (July 2020) helped repair a macular hole. My vision has improved. Slowly, but surely. It will probably never be what it used to be, but it's better. I had been on Tamoxifen for several years when it happened. Some of us apparently are more likely to have a macular hole from Tamoxifen, according to my oncologist. So, she took me off of it. I also had multiple head traumas as a rambunctious child.
@@TheGireesh19 thanks for asking. Fortunately I was not diagnosed with cancer. I had some nearly microscopic masses surgically remove. They were pre-cancerous atypical ductal hyperplasia (small abnormally shaped cells that replicated faster than normal in the milk ducts).

Man I’m 17 and have a hole in my right eye and wanted to know what they would do to help... ngl that was informative and interesting but like a gas bubble in my eye wtf and I’m 17 and may get Cataracts, what.
I know what you mean. You aren't alone on that. I had this surgery when I was your age (I'm 30 now). I also had two cataract surgeries since. I didn't feel a thing but I asked to be put under. Woke up groggy and had a headache.
@@LesterMitchell hey! I’m 25 and had a first eye surgery a month ago. Unfortunately, I didn’t recover as much as needed and I’ll be having a vitrectomy soon. I’m so scared of developing cataract… I feel like it’s an endless cycle. How did you feel about your surgeries?
@@marine_do Hey there sorry to hear that about your first surgery. If you've never had a vitrectomy it's not too bad. The part that's a bit lame is the home care instructions afterwards. Like keeping the head down. It's just annoying is all. Don't be scared 👍 Also cataracts are hit and miss. If you do end up having another they are easy enough to remove. I've had a few cataracts treated with laser. Quick and painless. My vision is a lot better, I still wear glasses but my vision is great. It's not perfect by any means but I'm grateful I'm not blind haha.
Well although a 2 year old comment, let me tell you that this condition generally occurs in one eye, and most people can't afford this surgery, thus accept the vision loss on one eye. It's important to know if there're other risks if left untreated such as infections, pain and other complications.

Awesome, clear and simple
I have macular hole in my eye since 6 years but still not fillup
He said it's done in an operating room? So they put you out for the surgery?
Yes
Not necessarily. I had monitored anesthesia and heard everything but they give you a calming iv as well so it was actually pretty fun.
They use local anesthesia, you would likely be awake

Yeah.. It is possible. But the recovery of vision depends on how soon the surgery is done.
