    Good start would be not to release domestic abusers free from prison.
    1 has already been arrested for abusing the woman that he had previously abused and was originally jailed for.

    how about tackling the religious misogynistic abuse in the home against women. i guess however you can't say that these days as it's carried out by men. even though everyone knows it's rife in a "certain community"

    @philipanderson2537 Месяц назад +8

    It's worrying that Jess Phillips dismisses concerns about Keir Starmer accepting freebies, calling it "not important at all." Accountability in leadership matters. Meanwhile, the early release of domestic abusers due to overcrowded prisons puts victims' lives at risk. Domestic abuse commissioner Nicole Jacobs has warned that these releases will lead to more violence against women, with the justice system already struggling to protect them.
    Phillips should focus on preventing dangerous offenders from being released early rather than defending Starmer. If politicians can’t be transparent on smaller issues, how can we trust them to handle critical matters like public safety?

    I think these 'specialists' are going to be surprised at how many (genuinely) abused women are on the phone to the police, having had a beating a day or two before from their partners, demanding to know when said partner will be released from custody and can return home. It's a bizarre and puzzling circumstance, yet very regular.

    • @crafte164
      @crafte164 Месяц назад

      It isn't puzzling if you've been in that position and/or have no support. If there were the proper support for victims it would be a lot less common. Unfortunately there isn't. 😢

    • @acme181169
      @acme181169 Месяц назад +2

      @crafte164 this has nothing to with support, Im taking about abused women, horrifically in same cases begging and threatening police staff to release their abuser so that abuser can come home to them. Its not uncommon for these wretches to be beaten and hospitalised many times AND STILL WANT THEIR ABUSER BACK IN THEIR LIFE. This despite significant police intervention and monitoring. You can't save someone that repeatedly refuses help.
      I don't know what the answer is, and nor do the police

    • @acme181169
      @acme181169 Месяц назад

      @crafte164 Furthermore, I have a very good friend, who was also badly abused for 12 years by her husband. She even left him, bought her own house and then let him move in!!!!!!
      She has absolutely no idea why she let this happen. But she felt very ashamed.

    • @Marvin-k1g
      @Marvin-k1g Месяц назад

      @@acme181169She has nothing to be ashamed of. Perpetrators have a whole raft of methods, and are very effective manipulators. On top of which they have a tendency to deliberately target victims who are kind, forgiving, highly empathetic. These positive traits are weaponised against the victim. Victims are often those who struggle/have not yet learnt to put down and maintain boundries (butbsometimes a persons boundries are worn down over time). All this enables narcisistic, psychopathic or sociopathic predators to get away with the abuse for longer.
      I think time away, learning about types of abuser and their methods and giving women specific techniques they can use when tempted to return to the relationship. There is a lot of research and evidence in this field that could be utilised. (Some of ots really simple, e.g. to create in your head a 'video reel' of all the bad things they've done to you and to replay it regularly in your head. Then whenever your tempted to return, you replay those images.
      Anyway, I just hope that despite the idiocy of giving early release to perpetrators, I hope labour actually take decisive action to break the cycle of abuse.
      There is a frightening level of misogyny in the current 20 year olds, who spent their GCSE and college years locked in their houses watching only fans etc rather than socialising with peers. It's a ticking time bomb that urgently needs to be addressed.
      The most well adjusted in that generation are the ones who were only made to observe the first lockdown, a lot of the rest are a mess.

    After a peremptory discussion of the serious issue of rampant domestic violence and the escalating number of murdered women and girls, the male presenter pivots aggressively to the question of Starmer's free suit from Waheed Ali. Ask that question of the recipient and donor, not Jess Philips - why should she be expected to answer this question? She's there to talk about DV and murders of women.

    I think everyone is harsh on Jess Phillips. She has been in the role for 11 weeks and she met my husband at Finsbury Park conference to talk about how we can help mental health sufferers that were abused children, not just women but men. My husband is very cynical of lip service but not only did Jess listen to him, she was very approachable and in agreement that we can do more. This wasn’t long ago and within weeks she is talking in public about what my husband told her was missing within care from the 999 call all the way through life

    We know why perpetrators do it. They do it because they can it isn't any deeper than that. As for her Free Gear Keir excuses utterly ridiculous and he can pay for his own box at the Arsenal, trying to sell it as saving public money was ludicrous. Pensioners don't claim what they are entitled to as it is so it's a nonsense to talk about them applying for some household fund.
