- In this video I will go over the algebraic properties of equality that you have learned in other classes over the years. We are going to see how to use those properties to justify the steps in solving an algebraic equation. Practicing justifying the steps of solving an algebraic equation will get you used to do that kind of work which will be needed for doing geometric proofs soon.
This is a great tutorial. I am studying to retake my Texas Sucess Initiative assessment so that I am able to get back into school and get my computer science degree. One of the things that I struggled with was algebraic reasoning. This helped me out a lot in figuring out how to solve the equations that the test gave me.
I swear I have math dyslexia!! You must be an amazing teacher to be able to help me the way you just did!! THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you so much! much appreciated!!!
thank you good sir
Thank I learned more than I needed
Wait -2(3x-1) how did it become -6x+2 ? I see a subtraction sign there
A negative multiplied by a negative is a positive number.
Can anyone expalin how he got negative 7x on the 3rd step of the 2nd equation?
in the last example on number 3, wouldn't it be substitution property
❤
Hey Jim so on the -6x you canceled out the two x’s, because they were the same I get that but in the -6x and x you just add one which made it a -7x what property is that? So on the test if I come across a question like this I just add one to the quantity and that’s what rule, because I’m refreshing my mind here but that was a new one. Asking so I can see more problems to become familiar with it.
All in all Thanks I learned something new
