  • What does a typical week look like for us? Sometimes it’s paradise. Other times it looks something like this… dodging a hurricane as it ravages the Florida coast, and then coming back to a boat project to fix the major necessity that is our fridge. Life on a boat can be a little complicated sometimes - just as it can be on land. But the best part about it is that we are together, making memories, and trying to teach our little girl how to live life to the fullest.
We hope that you enjoy! Let us know what you’d like to see more (or less!) of as we continue to document our lives about SV Paradox.
    Cheers,

Well the filter drier isn't a bad thing...I would say that the real issue is the refrigerant was topped up several times and water was actually pumped in a little at a time with the refrigerant. You can let the fridge/freezer warm up and vacuum the line on a system with no refrigerant. The vacuum will literally remove the moistures if you leave it on for a few hours. Then recharge...of course the filter drier is a good thing. Most heat pumps come from the factory with them for instance.

Dryers do not last forever, you will need to replace it at some point. Since it looks like you did have condensation in the line, you may want to charge your refrigerant.

Removing refridgerant and putting a vacuum on system actally boils off any moisture . I have a frigoboat with same issue, problem being my system is an old r12 which is now not available or too costly .Fridgoboat is actually a ripoff the dryers are worth 2 dollars on amazon and sil fos is used to solder them in. Looking at replacing my whole system with a 134a system

Question, since I too am having refrigeration issues, did you not have to evacuate the refrigerant before installing the drier? How does that work once you crack the lines? Love your informative videos. Glad you're back in action. Look forward to your adventures.

We did not evacuate the refrigerant. The quick disconnect fittings self seal when separated. We simply disconnected the fittings then added the drier in between. Upon start up the drier immediately picked up the moisture that was causing the blockage. Remarkably easy once we knew what we needed to do!

@@Mondaynever interesting. I will need to take a closer look at mine. Normally it’s very reliable. After a long layup it want cool. Compressor seems to be running. Thanks for the info.
