  • As cruisers, we can sometimes get bogged down in all of the details and projects that go into preparing a boat to go sailing for a season. But when it comes down to it, you need to make sure your mast will stay up, your sails will stay on, water will stay out, and that you've got something to eat. Everything else is gravy. Delicious and usually necessary gravy... but gravy all the same.
In this episode we tackle the last minute activities we need to get through in order to push off and get going for our latest season sailing as a family. Cat also talks about why she is the one who likes to go up the mast. Who scales the heights in your family? Leave us a comment below and let us know!

You are already somewhere warm and I am shovelling snow 29 Dec. I hate UHT milk. We grew up where milk was scarce so Mother used powdered milk.
She mixed with HOT water and then put it into the fridge to cool down. The let sit for 24 hrs. Tasted almost like real milk and much better than the UHT.
If Maddie is used to UHT, then bonus for you but in a pinch powdered is a good alternative.

That is such a great suggestion. We definitely don’t love UHT milk… so that is a good alternative!

@@Mondaynever trying to remember the name, it looks like there are two - "Some Kind of Heaven" and "The Bubble" - The Bubble is the one I was thinking of. here's a link to the Vice screaning of it that I watched: ruclips.net/video/Jp0nqJ1yrrg/видео.html (Vice's interview with the creator mixed in with the documentary gives insightful background)

    You left off courage.

You’re right. Courage is huge. So is faith that you are making the right choice. And family support (either on or off the boat). So many considerations to think through!
