Totally a manufacturing problem... there are usually 3 chips in bag.. 😂 😅
Totally, my first response was 'what, where are the other two?'😅

One thing that companies are doing simultaneously raising the prices and at the same time shrinking the product. This level of greed is going to destroy this country.
Agreed I live in Europe, and I’ve visited Canada, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and America has been then worst place I’ve gone to so far everyone’s so rude and ignorant wouldn’t live there even if they paid me to🤣🤣🤣
@RioSuave11 I lived in Europe for 22 years, I'll stay in the United States every day of the week. No way I'm going back to living with those people.
Well is there anything we could do to stop this? Seriously, it's like there's no hope.
But won’t someone think of the billionaires?
I feel you. I remember when I was a kid it was filled, filled.
Someone gave me the excuse that it was so the flavor lasted longer but I don't need to be a genius to know that's a dang lie.

Should start exposing these Billion dollar companies by pointing out their profit margins. If something costs you 15 cents to produce, yet you charge $5.99, then you can keep your product.
Amen
Assuming your numbers are correct, there's also labor costs, machinery maintenance, investment costs, debt repayment, lease or rental costs, stockholder returns, research and development, legal, and much more. They also have to have a rainy day fund due to market fluctuations in raw material costs. So the $5.84 difference doesn't just go into the pockets of the executives.
@@Frodojack was about to say... people be forgetting about labor and other expenses
😂 there's no need for exposé and "amen" this is not a secret at all, It's called capitalism with supply and demand. You just need to either to work on one of the factory, as manager and see it for yourself. Or befriend the boss and watch.. no need for the big company, just the tiny and nameless or "knockoff" snack factory.
Which I fortunately know from my father old pal.
Even a simple and less flashy 12¢ salt and flour chips can gave the owner 50 employee and still could managed to afford bigass mansion. I'm shocked it is that lucrative...
You're forgetting factory labor, machine maintenance, debts, fleet cost and maintenance, driver salary.... You're realistically looking at about $3.50 a bag to cover your costs and still make a profit, then the $1-$3 extra at the store is for the store to make profit.
That's the new one chip challenge

Not only that, they inflate the bags to make them look fuller. I know it’s good for preventing chips from getting crushed and crumbled but I’d rather have a full bag of crushed chips than a bag of air that’s now $8
False
Me as a semi-truck driver: 😅 are you SURE about that
I'd rather get Pringles lmao
Stop buying. When they lose enough sales, things will change, but not while people are still paying inflated prices for less product.
That's is really true
What you just pronounce is Boycott, but you are right one thing, if they think they can just give us one chip in a big bag, that's is not funny, if that ever happened let's see if customer still want to buy their shrinkflation chip bag's
I need my chips now!
Yup just look at the fast food chains and their $5 _limited_ meals. They are definitely feeling the drop in sale for their insane prices over their trashy food. They are trying to get customers back but people are finally saying no. Same thing needs to happen with grocery shopping too, stuff that comes prepackaged junk like these chips
kinda hard to stop buying products from companies who do this crap when nearly every if not every single company does it.
can you think of even one that doesnt?
This used to happen to me all the time in school...parents never belived me...they said look at the number on the bag (ounces) they exclaimed how much does it weigh...and then would say air doesnt weigh anything. Apparently 30 plus years I am VINDICATED with this video!
Make sure the bag said Funions and not Funion

Back in the day companies would refund you or send coupons for free products but now when you write to them and show them their response now is were working on resolving the issue thank you for bringing this to our attention and thats it.
Yes. I have such a response letter sent to my mom when she had written about a product. That was of course, when America was great.
I have to give credit to Kimberly Clark for doing that recently. I bought both paper towels and toilet paper and complained to them about the poor quality. They sent gift cards for the full purchase price. But the fact remains the quality should not be that bad to begin with.

@eddyr1041 a dumb comment 🤦🏾♀️ not even laughable
Very true
As many below have suggested.....Stop buying their products. It's the only thing they understand.
The bag states .75 ounce. Not even a full ounce. And yet consumers keep buying them.
There's no way 0.75oz is 1 FUNYON. I'm in a kitchen weighing stuff all day, if 1 funyon weighed that much the family size bag would weigh like 5lbs lmao
@Anoonymuss1 My faddass just got excited over the idea of a 5 lb bag of Funyuns...

I refuse to buy from any brands who participate in shrinkflation.
And I write to the companies expressing my opinion. I actually got an apology and two replacement $65 gift cards from Kimberly Clark. Most companies respond (if at all) with the copout answer that they sell by weight, not volume. I bought about a 3" bottle of Gorilla Glue that had about 1/2" of glue in the bottom.

They all do buddy
@@NY_7 to a degree yes. But there are also brands that still give you the same amount of product and quality as before but they have raised the price a few cents or a dollar or two per item. I prefer to shop that way, rather than the ones who lowered quality and raised the price.

Not "shrinkflation" its called robbery
Scam
I bought a box like that from Sam's Club and it had one completely empty bag inside.
NO, we have not gotten used to being ripped off. WE JUST HAVE NO CHOICE!
Pretty much that.
You do, stop buying them.
Choices: to buy OR NOT TO BUY
Yep. These corporate companies are just straight up greedy.
Your money is your support. Dont support them, make your own snacks or find different ones
Seriously, people gotta start filing lawsuits for companies selling incomplete products. "Shrinkflation" is a scam. I actually get so angry when I open a giant bag of chips and its not even half full. What are we paying for, packaged air? This isnt the lorax but it might as well be!
No it's not a malfunction, they make millions of bags of chips a year, they purposely "malfunction" thousands of bags saving them thousands of dollars. I worked in the vending machine business for 15 years.
"Whoops"
I believe it , these companies will do anything to save money sadly it's at our expense
Its crazy how if they just gave ys the proper amount they would make more money 😂😂😂
That literally makes no sense, because they can save infinitely more money by just not manufacturing those bags in the first place.
In your theory, they are basically paying to spend less money, lol
@@dmwanderer9454 no, they sell boxes with 50 bags, or 40 bags or 30 bags per box, they still charge you the full price of the box even tho the "malfunction" bags have no product in them. It's not rocket science my boy have you ever bought a box with multiple individual bags of chips?. They are robbing you. And they know how to hide it as much as possible, like in a 50 count box for example having just one bag won't "seem" like a big deal but in reality they make millions in their total production so they probably "malfunction" thousands if not hundreds of thousands of bags per year. I worked in vending machines selling chips for over 15 years, I've been purchasing high quantity boxes of chips and trust me I've had dozens of people returning me a sealed brand new bag of Chips they got from a vending machine that was either completely empty or had like 1% filling.
I figured out chip companies were getting over on people long time ago. I'm a diabetic, so I used to read the nutrition facts on a lot of stuff back in the day. I remember they used to sell the small bags of chips for 25 cents. I remember reading the nutrition facts on a small bag of Sour Cream and Chedder Ruffles. Each bag had 15 grams of carbs in them, which means 2 bags would be 30 grams of carbs. Then I read the nutrition facts on the 99 cent bag, and noticed it had 30 grams of carbs in the entire bag, which means they're putting the same amount of chips in a 99 cent bag as two 25 cent bags. So that meams they were charging people double the price for the same amount of chips.
Just bought the same box at Walmart yesterday and every chip bag has less than a Palm full of chips!
You opened every chip bag to verify that?
@@ZVvereVvolf Yes we did! My wife was as mad as I was! After I grabbed the first bag and only got like six chips in it,she took out another and opened it! Only had two or three chips in it! Then we just started to open them all! Didn't get the equivalent of a medium bag from circle k from the whole box! We couldn't take it back to Walmart so we just decided never to get another box of single packs again! We don't particularly like the whole variety in it anyway! Now we both just get a family size bag of what we each want - but even those have more air than chips it seems nowadays! One bag used to fill a one gallon Ziploc freezer bag whereas now you only get about three quarters of a freezer bag now!
I feel her. Once I got 10% chips. 90% air. I'm not even joking.
I just don't buy junk, haven't for years. The only way things change are that you quit buying things.
I wish I could be more like you but my diet is so restricted unless I have the resources to cook constantly its just more realistic for me to buy junk lol

What else would expect from Pepsi?
Across the global companies are colluding with each other to raise prices, this rapid inflation isn’t made by shortage of supply or a rise in consumer demand, but a blatant greed of CEO’s.
Anytime you buy those variety boxes, no matter where, they WILL have bags skimped, and also not every quantity will be in there. There should be like a little * on the box telling you not every bag will be the same, not every box will have the same amount of quantity.
Buy a regular size big bag, and use a zip lock if you wanna portion it out. These smaller box bags are a gimmick and scam.
I'm positive this will be revealed to be a hoax. How would she know in an unopened bag there would only be one chip? There aren't even crumbs. She clearly removed the contents and resealed the bag with a single chip. She should be sued for this. With that said, shrinkflation is real and disgusting but until consumers protest and stop buying it will never change and we only have our complacency to blame.
They've been doing this. Changing the packaging and giving you less while paying more.

I bought two boxes of honeybuns from Walmart yesterday and was charged $10.00 for each box instead of $1.88 which was supposed to be the price. I didn’t think about it until I got home and noticed the total on my receipt was way too high for the few items I had purchased. I took them back this morning and got a refund but it makes me wonder how many times this has happened before and I’ve not noticed. From now on I’ll be checking all my receipts after shopping.
You should be paying attention BEFORE you leave the store. Why have to make another trip back to the store when you were there earlier and could have caught the mistake while you were there?? Even if you're scanning things yourself, you should be paying attention so you don't pay more or miss paying for something. Good grief, some of the stupid stuff the younger generations go through is self-inflicted 🙄
