Enjoyed that, we have deal on four specialties coming up on world europa so this good prep. We are big fan of butchers cut.
I agree with you on buffet it’s always crazy busy, although in med it’s busier later so quiet earlier. I never knew it had outside bit!!Thanks for sharing

Thanks Tom & Rachael. Really looking forward to what you think of World Europa, our family enjoyed it when they sailed on her in Feb, just felt the the YC was a bit too big for them.
Never thought about the impact of an area (and passengers) such as in the Med would have on eating times in the buffet. Great point.
Have a lovely day, Linzi & Mark

I’ve not sailed on Virtuosa yet so I was very glad to see your review. Clearly the YC dining experience is different from the regular MDRs, even the “anytime dining” MDR reserved for Aurea guests. But as one who HAS eaten many meals in the plain old MDR, I can say that even there the food is very good. Agree with you 100% on the specialty dining as well - it’s really, really good. I’ll take the MDR food on MSC any day over NCL, Carnival, or Royal.

Hi Mason, thank you, glad you enjoyed the review. If the food in Virtuosa is even as good as Royals or NCL, then that is fantastic, let alone better. It was hard to find fault on the Speciality, and you know it's good if we are splitting hairs over whether it should have an 8.5 or a 9!

Thanks for sharing your experience, I do have to say your footage was amazing! However has the lady actually got anything more to say than YES or NOD? Sorry if you want more views, then having more of a bubbly personality (or have one) would be more appealing 21:18

Thanks for you comment Katy. We are glad you enjoyed the footage 😁
Sorry you didn't enjoy our conversational style, we know it is not for everyone. If you've watched any of our other videos, or our live streams you will see Linzi talks a LOT, and doesn't just say yes or no.
Occasionally, I (Mark) talk too much! We get better with each video though, at least we think we do.

Many thanks for your videos which are enjoyable and really helped in our decision to book Virtuosa YC this autumn. I am interested in your thoughts on the 4 experience dining package plus a Carousel production at £104 pp (restaurants are Butchers Cut; Indochine; sushi; and Hola! - all limited to their experience menu). We have enjoyed speciality restaurants occasionally on Celebrity, and want to do the Carousel show anyway. Would buying the package ibe worthwhile and value for money given we will have access to the YC restaurant? I know one answer might be "that's a personal decision" or “what you spend your money on is your call" but I am interested in your views, particularly on the quality versus price balance and though I know the food in YC will be good whether in 14 days we will need a change of scene, pace or style of food! Many thanks.

      Hi Timothy,
Thank you, we are so glad they’ve helped and we are sure you’ll have an amazing time in YC on Virtuosa.
We actually took one of those dining packages ourselves too and while the way MSC do speciality dining is very different compared to some other cruise lines and we had the same concerns about a more limited speciality dining menu compared to others the reality was there was more than ample choice at each of the restaurants and the 50% discount on anything else you want from the wider menu is an option too. We only used the 50% option once or twice and in truth we wouldn’t again as the included options were just as good.
The packages were good value in our opinion as some of the “basic” steaks alone in Butchers’ Cut were over 50! So 104’for all four + one of the Carousel shows isn’t bad at all.
The Yacht Club dining menu does change every day but in a 14 night cruise “going out” for some different food experiences is well worth it. The Teppanyaki is also worth considering too, it’s a good fun family spot.
Your Butler will also escort you to each venue (dining and Carousel) and you might not be sure about that (we weren’t) but take advantage of it, they get you past queues and such and get you to your venue much easier too.
      Hope this helps.
      Linzi and Mark

@@SuiteNatured That is brilliant, thank you for replying so quickly and with so much useful information - it really helps! I will book the package today I think. One more question if I may: how do I book a table (date & time) at the Speciality Restaurants once I have booked the package ? I think I can only do this after boarding - if so, is there a "stand" near the restaurants or do I do it at Yacht Club reception/guest services? Hope you have a great Bank Holiday. Many thanks.

@@timothypierce8986 you are very welcome 😀
If you have the package you book when you get onboard at the YC concierge desk and they’ll do it while you wait or you can ask your butler. Desk is easier as they can tell you the availability while you are there.
Tip for Hola. It’s the same food at lunch time as evening but it is massively quieter if you want a more relaxed meal or if you want more atmosphere the evening in there is loud and fun.

    Great video xx
Unfortunately dad and I got a stomach bug last week on our trip. Had four days of exploring the ship then bamb dad got ill first , me 12 hours later. I think it was the temperature of the food in the marketplace and main dining hall. Dad also picked up covid too. It's our first cruise and unfortunately has knocked our confidence a bit.... Is it normal to pick up a bug on a cruise??

    • @SuiteNatured
      @SuiteNatured  Год назад

Thank you Sonia; but oh my goodness, what a shame. No it is not common (despite what may be portrayed outside of cruising) to pick up bugs more on a cruise than any other holiday type. Historically, we've picked more up from planes. Touching Wood, but we have been very lucky, and never picked anything up on a cruise, maybe other than a sniffle.
Don't let this put you off at all. You have both hyst been very unlucky,
Hope you dad is feeling better now.

Hi Elton, no there are quite a few other quick snack places to eat (for burgers and such) that are included in the price of the cruise, but the main dining room(s) and the Buffet are the main sit down dining areas that are included. The speciality restaurants are all extra charges,
