After watching our other videos on load sensing systems, things are probably starting to make a little more sense. But there are a few aspects of load sense that we haven't covered. In this video, we'll look at how the system reacts when the demand for flow is reduced, but the demand for pressure is held constant.
To take your learning deeper and to support our channel so we can keep making these videos, go check out the free & paid content on our website: www.lunchboxsessions.com. If there's a hydraulic (or electrical) topic you'd like to see us cover, leave a comment. And as always, "Thanks for watching!"

One question that might seem dumb :)
Let's say that we don't have this orifice, once spool is returned to neutral position, load sense path from the directional valve is bled to tank. Isn't that enough to release the pressure from the LS line? Or this shuttle valve will block flow in other direction. You see, I have never thought of this, how does shuttle valve behave when flow direction is "backwards"

The load sense passages near a valve spool are typically isolated from the main T ports when the valve is in neutral. The LS signal network and components are their own little sub-circuit. Without this orifice (blocked off) the load sense signal pressure would remain high for a long period until internal leakage between components gradually occurs. During thus time (could be a long time) the pump will behave more like a pressure compensated pump, which does not offer the same level of energy savings. You mentioned backward flow through the shuttle valves (sometimes also called ball resolvers). This backward flow would not be a typical occurrence - can't think of a circumstance right now that would cause that. The LS line is really not a flow line, but rather a conduit to carry a pressure signal. Did I address your question adequately? - Carl

Thanks, make sense of course, you want to bleed it out quickly to avoid wasting energy

So any diameter for this conduit is acceptable, right?
But what about the flow line which connected from the pump output to the servo piston (swashplate piston) through the load sensing spool, what the appropriate diameter for it?

If the motor or let's say a cylinder were holding a load while the valves are in neutral, would it leak down through the load sense circuit?

What software did you use to show the motion/flow through the system? I am a new technical trainer, and this would be a great tool to use.

Have you "Excavator hydraulic arm cylinder"?

Hello i was very much impressed with your work. I would like to design my won circuit and need to simulate. please suggested a platform for best simulation.

Hi! We don't use any simulation software (we build our own simulations from scratch), so I can't recommend anything to you. Maybe one of the other commenters here will be able to make a good suggestion? Good luck!

@Gibson Ahmed Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

Yet another great video. I'm looking for used hydraulic tube flaring and bending machines. If anyone has used equipment that they want to sell contact me. Jim .
