Very good power and torque that fella, got my K20A to 250bhp and 163 ft lb with a bigger throttle body than yours with all the other nice bits. Still stock cams and fuel system, it won’t go much more than that so great start fella.
It then become an expensive game to make 260-300bhp NA.

Looking forward to your reaction in comparison to a standard F4R, which also looked very healthy and quick on track. Fancied doing a K20 conversion to my Clio. Are you visiting any car shows with the car?

@@GEARED_MrLucas No worries mate, my Clio 182 needed a new injector and coil pack and seems to be down on power low down since... Seems ok motorway speeds...pm me a meet up as I'm really interested in the k20 conversion.

In my country you can swap engine only from the same manufacturer. Thank god there is always the megane 225 as an option.

Just get bonnet pins, sorted. Have the same issue when running 90mm Jenvey trumpets.
I was going to get some Aerocatches, but I want to get a fibreglass bonnet and avoid using them if I can. Managed to source a new inlet, so I'm hoping it will all sit flush when it's on 😉
@@GEARED_MrLucas sorted. Love the car mate, really miss my ITB phase 1. Epic conversion but ironically the F4R was pretty bulletproof - it's everything else you've got to worry about normally!

I wish I understood dyno numbers, 240hp peak, but only 178.9 of those making it to the wheels ? Yet on another dyno a car with a similar setup (but with aftermarket inlet mani, 70mm TB etc) only makes 226hp peak YET makes 190 to the wheels ? Think I need to do some more reading :) Great job though, awesome to see a proper motor in a great chassis, will be a weapon on the track for sure !
😄 I will find out, but 226bhp with an inlet and TB should be doing more than that. Civic Cup maps run 230+bhp on a standard inlet and TB 👀 Suppose it all depends on where they get mapped, what sort of Dyno, transmission loss, correction factor etc 😄 It gets technical
@@GEARED_MrLucas Well this question got me doing some research, short version is, correction factor and environmental inputs make the biggest differences. DIN and SAE give slightly differing numbers it seems, and no correction at all gives you the raw numbers for that moment in time only
@@GEARED_MrLucas Having the car strapped down too tight can create a higher drag number, but would normally rob HP, then having the air intake sat up so high also will fudge the number a little, as running with the bonnet down would then rob HP. Just can't get my head around why it's lost almost 62bhp at the wheels compared to the measured flywheel hp number?
@@captainsvlog Been speaking to one of my mates (J.Cal) who maps these and uses all sorts of dynos. Basically he said because of it being an older MAHA dyno, they do read lower WHP than they should. Then it has a massive drag value, so it's measuring the weight of the rollers/retarder plus the drive train weight.
Just how this one works, but I'll get it on another at some point. Don't want to get too hung up on figures 😄 As long as it works as it should, I'm more than happy 😊
@@GEARED_MrLucaswe can't argue with that dude 🤣 I ended with the same conclusion when my own car failed to make the numbers I thought it would, it works great, but all these variances in Dyno numbers got me reading and nerding out ha ha, I find it really interesting.
Nice. Why was it 240hp fly but then only 179 wheels?
Was speaking to my mate about this. It's mainly because of it being an older MAHA dyno, The WHP reads lower on them than it should, due to the large drag value that they have. I will however try and get it on a different dyno at some point, but as long as it feels good I'm happy 😊

@100kmp Who told me that? 😄 It's a fact. It's a challenge to get 220bhp out of a F4R NA. A few bolt on to a K20 and you're at 240bhp - 250bhp. You can turbocharge and supercharge a standard K20 without forging and get it to 400+bhp easily, the same can't be said about an F4R. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great engine still, but no where near as superior as a K20
@100kmp A Cliosport in standard form has the better chassis, 100% though. You have to spend on an EP3 and change multiple things to get it near the handling of a 182. So I thought why not, something different isn't it?

F4R 215 bhp smoke the k20 with 240 bhp... F4r is stronger motor than the k20... I have clio 185 215 bhp with single trottle and I have 172 with k20... F4 r is harder too tune but it's more powerful and better delivered the power at 4 too 8rpm...
