The scenes between Mac and Iris had been building for over a year and what an amazing scene as the pay off. The most unfortunate part is knowing Doug Watson would pass away a few weeks later at a health spa in Arizona. I wonder how the storyline would have evolved if Doug had lived and continued to play. The library scene between Mac and Iris should have been considered for daytime Emmys. It would have been great if Mac had listed off Brian Bancroft or Dennis Wheeler or Robert Delaney when he said "I think I understand know what all the others went through... well, all the people who have loved you in your life." And that final scene with Iris being shown out the door and Mac collapsing in tears on the other side of the threshold. And that song - it captured what Felicia, Sharlene, John, Josie, Matt, Iris, and Mac were feeling.
Sadly, Douglass Watson passed on the same day that this "Another World" May 1, 1989 aired although it was several weeks afterward that Douglass' character Mackenzie Cory passed on "Another World." 😞
I really like funny banter between Josie and Ruben! However, Josie is very blessed and lucky to have so many people genuinely care about her in spite of her being a first class drama queen! LOL!
Derek not telling Felicia who he was much sooner was a lousy thread in an otherwise great storyline. He could have gone to Felicia much sooner. For him to expect for her to recognize him after 30 years wasn't realistic.
