Is the Nissan Leaf A Good EV Option In 2023?
HTML-код

- The original Nissan Leaf was one of the first electric cars to go on sale and from a quick search on Autotrader, you'll see there's no shortage of Nissan Leaf's on the used market which is great news for those who might be thinking about making the EV switch without the risk of buying brand new.
The Leaf Mk2 is available with two battery options. The first is 39kWh and the second is a 59kWh battery with the 39kwh offering a range of up to 168 miles and 239 miles from the 59kwh. Could this be the EV for you?

Stop the Leaf-hate. That car looks good
Test drove one today, I was surprised how much better it looked in person
Really fun to drive. 👍
i think the exterior is stunning personally. interior does look dated though.
We have had a 2023 Leaf S since March. (We snuck into the IRA reqts. for a nice tax credit but don't ask me why.) We are both retired and the 149 mile range works for us. The car itself is pretty darn fun and fast (if you so choose). Dare I say, it combines fun with ecology.
It definitely surprised me I can tell you that! In a good way!
I have purchased 4 Nissan’s over the years this would be my first EV strictly for my Home Care business. This is my first review video and you have SOLD me ❤❤ TY for sharing
My pleasure!
Enjoyed your style; first review I've seen that focused on driver enjoyment. We've just put a deposit down on a second hand one, our first EV. As a used buy these are especially good value: a Cupra Born would be nice but over twice the price, so these are great value. I didn't realise we could get an EV for such reasonable money.
Thanks mate, it’s a great car and does the job really well!
Great review! Affordable bougie EV.
Love it! It’s fast and smooth drive.
I have the 2019 model, black/white exterior cutie little EV…same shape however the alloys are different!❤️❤️❤️
Bought it cash £14,000. I charge it at home at night when going on long journeys but does well. LEAD EV the best in my opinion
Good choice! Can’t go wrong with it!
We have the same and love it.
Decent review. I watched until the end which I don’t alwiz do. I charge at home which is slow but cheap when you take advantage of cheap electric rates. The car drives really well. I don’t do long drives and I don’t drive fast. Just the right car for me.
That’s exactly what sort of driver it’s made for! Glad you getting the most out of it!
I just got a 2023 Leaf a week ago… I like it
And gas prices are ridiculous here in CA so it’s a relief
Winner winner!
We test drove a two year old one, I was surprised just what a nice drive it was, and a comfortable car,
We love our 2023 Leaf. Lovely car to drive and excellent for 95% of our journeys. The foot operated handbrake is a bit retrograde on our N Connecta model, but we have mastered it now. The only issue is long journeys and locating working suitable chargers, but that is down to national government policy. Love the smooth drive
We recently bought a 2019 Nissan leaf and love the look and best drive.
Does the job very well!
Tim first review of yours I've seen - good content and you really make me laugh !

Leaf version 1 is a classic. Just give it another 15 years 👍
Yes!...I am soon buying a 2024 Leaf, in the USA-Washington State....My State is offering up to 5 grand in "instant rebate"form, and there is currently a 7500 dollar instant rebate (factored into the final price in both cases), when you make your "deal" at the dealership...I mean, 12,500 dollars off the normal sale price? I cannot pass this up. I actually slightly prefer the Chevy Bolt--but sadly, there are no 2024 Bolts for sale!..and the rebates only apply to "new" EV cars. So the Leaf is likely my default choice, and that is OK with me. With these huge bonuses, I will consider buying the top model of Leaf, as I am fortunate, and can pay cash for the deal. Maybe the "cash" aspect will facilitate a further negotiated discount from the actual dealer?! We shall see. And in the future, I plan on buying a "first gen" Leaf, for a 2nd vehicle. I am one of the apparent few, who like the looks of the earlier Leaf, and can easily live with the much lower range of that vehicle. I could even see swapping the older power battery, for one of those 62KW monsters, that offer up to 230 miles range.
Picking up a leaf in a couple of weeks. Great review Tim!
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching mate!
Major downside to the Leaf and the reason I didn't get one is the Chademo rapid charger connection. Even Nissan are ditching it in favour of the CCS rapid charger. This means that going forward you will struggle to find decent Chademo chargers. Perfect example of this is that my local BP has just fitted 150kW chargers and none of them have Chademo chargers. Such a shame!
Yes the ccs is the way forward!
NACS here in the states now. (Tesla charger)
The type 2 can be used at home with a normal 13amp socket and does not need a specialist charger.
Nice summary , thanks
Thanks for watching man
Brilliant video well explained
Glad you liked it!
Nissan Leaf is best EV.😊
just that Chademo that ruins it.. many new chargers don't even support it.
@@Dreadpirateflappy Lot of people don't need CCS.
@@Dreadpirateflappy I have never needed CCS in 6 years of Leaf owndership.
That "cheese on bread" certainly didn't slip pass me lol
😝😂😂😂speed junkie 😉
The Leaf ceases production in 2025, in preference for a compact SUV. WHO needs/wants a compact SUV? I’m partially disabled and SUV’s are to high, and tend to have narrow/low doors that I can’t get into/out of.
Not quite true it has an restyle to an SUV [mistake in my view] still debating on use of the Leaf name [another mistake in my view - if it works don’t fix it]
I mean there buttons everywhere for ease of pressing for required function but then the heated seat switch annoyed you so much what would you like instead of switch to put on heated seats bells 🔔 whistles or like tesla big screen touch screen scolling up down left right to find the fuction, nissan leaf is definitely not worth it new but you can a good second hand for £10,000 or so,having said that great review
Thanks dude, the button didn't annoy me at all lol Just found it crazy weird as I've never seen it in any car i've been in haha
Yes Tim. Nice. But M4 content PLEEEEEEASE. We get withdrawals without seeing your bmw.
Soon come 😆
I liked, and still do, like the original design of the Leaf.
Mine gets delivered next week. Is the chademo such a problem?
If you’re used to fast charging then yes, home charging will be fine
Hello Sir, when the charging cable connected the charge indicator light illuminate in sequence and then stop, what we need to do to bring it in charging mode
What is the cost plus from zero to sixty how much in seconds not from zero to thirty
Its not as ugly as the old models. But its still ugly.. 🙃 Its hard to argue that you gonna get more for your money with any other EV i've seen so far. 🙂
Sell those fossil cars while you still can and get a Tesla. Or if you're a cheapskate like me, get a Leaf!
Haha luv that!
It’s affordable (for some!) But it’s not cheap
@@elcee84 very true, but take the low cost of ownership into account. No road tax, cheap to run, fewer garage bills, and no charge to drive into city centres
Get a Tesla if you can afford 3k per year for insurance, sure. Otherwise the leaf is cheaper to insure by a long way
