I was at this concert. He nailed it. His voice was as true as ever. What a concert. I was 14 when Bat out of Hell was released. He was my generation. RIP Meat.
Bro i was 2 and was better than u2.
It's really an incredible performance, watching all the vids from it
His voice is strained, but he's leaning into it and it sounds so pained and honest
no bro, his voice is gone here but it's always good to see Meat
@Marabarra134 he was doing the impossible doing a great live performance even if his voice had gone
As a show this might have been good, but his voice is way off, and definitely not "...true as ever" - he is singing much, much lower than he used to (which is surprising in a way, because he occasionally goes into higher parts here, but often as harmonies, so maybe he just could not sustain singing the original melody lines in their original pitch. This might be because he lost his voice at one point shortly after the original 'Bat Out of Hell' tour.
Same thing happened to Harry Nilsson - John Lennon (accidentally) blew Harry's voice (when J.L. was producing H.N.), and Nilsson's voice was never the same again.
What an honor it must have been to play a concert with Meatloaf, to get to say " i performed with Meatloaf"
So glad I grew up in a generation where Bat out of Hell got to define my musical tastes. Meats musical theatre is like no other. RIP Meat, no one will ever do it the way you did. As unique in the rock genre as Elvis was. Keep a space for me at the rock concert in the sky.
RIP Jim Steinman a lot of the songs here were written by you god bless always
He realy was the Shakespeare of rock n roll rip jim
Jim was very unappreciated as a great song writer! R.I.P!
He didn't deserve to die last year. He should been in the rock and roll hall of fame
He could still be. Just posthumously.
Never seen ,or you will never see the likes of a rock legend,RIP big man,the world will be a sadder place without you
Patti Russo has the depth and maturity in her voice that the others don't . She has always been the , best one suited to Meat Loafs voice range . There is so much chemistry between Patti and Meat Loaf ,and it shows .
I agree! Such a big voice for such a little girl.
She's the queen of rock and roll
Tonight we learned of your death. You were one of a kind. So great in your musical story telling. My husband and I loved your songs through out our lives. We are only 4 years younger than you, so we have followed you through your whole career. Rest In Peace Meat.
Thank you for your comment
I've loved this big fella since i heard his first single/album.. he is a legend to me and always will be, doing this at this age is a feight.. but he can still do it! Have a listen to him singing with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra too.. it's amazing! RIP Meaty ❤️😢xx
RIP and Rock and Roll
Wow.. I've been watching and singing along to my dvd of Meat live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (2004) today.. it gets me every time! I know I've already said Meat is a legend.. but if you have not watched this before, do it! It is amazing how his music just fits an orchestra perfectly! Rip big fella, keep on rocking..❤️🎶
I'm the same age as Meat. I cried when I heard. May God bless his family and friends during this time. Jim passed about a year ago, right. God.
💔💔
I cried too, I didn't realize what a great singer and actor he was I rank him right up there with Elvis, and he could sing Elvis songs, just think now they are singing in a better place
For those of us loyal Meatloaf supporters... YOU are a rock and roll god😀😀👍👍.
Please let us remember you they way we should, not like this...Thanks for the memories...
There won't ever be another. This generation is losing so much.
I used to listen to Meat Loaf at sunrise . I'd walk to the beach and do yoga as the sun came up over the ocean. Even though I was homeless at the time I was in Hawaii and I had Meat Loaf to keep me company. I've been on this Blue Marble 50 years and this is the first time I actually cried when a musician died.
❤
The soundtrack to my youth -- It was long ago and so far away, so much better than it is today......RIP Meat
Me also. I'm literally heart broken.
@@douglasboyd8475 Me, too...💔
Meat Loaf always closed a show saying "From our hearts to your souls never stop rocking"! Total devestation today hearing one of the biggest icons in history has passed. I thank God that I was born when I was to have enjoyed 40 years of Meat Loaf and over 30 shows with ticket stubs to prove it. Was lucky to meet him personally for a photo. ALL his shows from curtain open to close were full throttle balls to the wall. I have to return the favor to Mr. Meat Loaf "from my heart to your soul" rest in peace-- until we meet again and then when rock heaven like it aint never seen before.
That's beautifully put
I really Miss you meatloaf
I love bat out of hell in this concert
Er war nicht nur ein super Sänger sondern auch ein klasse Schauspieler!!!👏❤💋😉
I loved his music I bought every one of his albums on cassette tapes. I put him with Freddy Mercury, and Pink Floyd. I will always remember and listen to them until I die. 1970-80 rock in roll will live forever.
Exactly, Freddie Mercury, is also like him!
I said meatloaf needs to be in the rock and roll hall of fame but I left someone out. Jim Steinmann wrote meats hits he belongs right there with meatloaf. He wrote the songs and meat brought them to life.
Patti's voice is incredible
We have lost a giant in the music world.Meat was the sound track to so many peoples lives. He left us with so many great performances like this one.He always gave 110% ever time he took the stage.RIP Meat!!!!
200%
A true legend never will be another like him my only regret is that I never got to see him live 💔
I was at this concert. I already miss him so much. RIP now MEAT. Bernie in Sydney
RIP, Meat Loaf! No one compares to you.
Love the FREEBIRD solo at the end. Fly high Freebird
Our music world has lost a legend. RIP Marvin ty for all the great songs over the years that we can always listen to and relate our own personal lives with. You were to young to leave us but guess " Heaven couldn't wait for you " you are now seeing paradise by the dashboard light & enjoying all the hot summer nights ahead of you. 💖💖🤘🤘
RIP and God Bless Meat Loaf.. a great performer and a good guy.
RIP MEATLOAF THE WORLD LOVED YOU
Rest in peace friend..a true musical genius!!
RIP sweet Meat. You were incredible!
Patty Ruso is one hell of a singer.
Yup!
She is but ironically did not sing on the album. Great fit though.
To think he ditched her a couple of times.
One of a kind, a true legend, RIP, too early.
One of the best singers who has accompanied me half my life has left us...
Rest in Peace Meat Loaf
Today is 21/01/22 Really sad to hear that Meatloaf has passed away.
A great showman through and through. Godspeed Meatloaf, No doubt you’ll hit heaven like a bat out of hell. Rest in peace.
Love your music - you.sre a legend Meatloaf!!! Rest in.peace.
Imagine THIS band backing him in the 70's!
Why ?
Meatloaf is truly underrated. What a talented artist! Even in his old age he still has his rock and roll spirit. God bless him.
this man is worldwide known
his album bat out of hell is top 5 sold records worldwide and he sold way over 100 million records
thats underrated for you? wow ^^
rip meat loaf
Meat Loafs women were all underrated too . My fav was Patti !!
UNDERRATED?❓?❓?

He doesn't sound good hear age Will do that . But this is awesome 😎📀🎥🍿
Really miss Meat & Pattie...an awesome combination they were.
Meatloaf is a constant reminder of how grand and emotional rock can be. I'm so sad you have gone away dear sir, but I will always cherish the many moments of wonderment and tears that you brought into my life.
Wow what an opening. Meatloaf's songs are so operatic, even at his age he made them work.
Bat out of hell tour 1978, Masonic Theater Detroit MI. Hooked ever since. thank you Patti for all those years. You and meat loaf with your beautiful voices and entertainment on stage. Thank you meat loaf with your down to earth personality. I'm sure you are entertaining all the angels in Heaven. Bless you my friend.
That moment when she says "Youll be screwing around" and he looks around...like "Woman! I told you I won't do that!" I love it.
Rest in Paradise
(by the dashboard light)
Great artist, great memories.
RIP Mr. Meat Loaf we love your music forever THANK YOU
Rest in peace meatloaf always loved your music you will be missed by millions of fans may you be rocking no matter where you are this is one fan who would deeply miss you
Every time, every video... Patti Russo is missing from the stage for I Won't Do That. Then her voice appears out of nowhere, and she is greeted with enormous cheers. She's no backup singer...
We all love her ❤
R.I.P Meatloaf , Awesome entertainer , rock on in Heaven with the other GREATS
Your sadly missed xx 🙏💔👋🎶
Well said
We have lost a Legand
A wonderful man gave all to his music and fans
We will miss you always
R I P....May you sing with the Angels in heaven ♥
Some of the most amazing arrangements in rock music ever.
Jim Steinman's music is epic!!
really wish id got to see him live, RIP the amazing MEATLOAF!
Meat Loaf
Me too
I keep watching Two out of three ain't bad" on here and I'm just weeping. I mean it's breaking me up. I was a teenager in the late 70's and this music was a big part of my life. Can't believe he's gone. Then you combine Meat Loaf with Patti Russo, you get pure greatness.
Crown black and meatloaf just goes together like "pure" "good" and"right" never forget. 💕
What a voice, what a show, now that's all history😥.....thank you, Meat and RIP🕯️
Was at the Melbourne concert. Meat Loaf is always great value.
Completely shocked and saddened by Meat's passing. Aside from loving his music, I loved watching his joy when he was with the Ghost Hunters group. A great man.
True legend and will never be forgotten god rest in peace ❤️
A talented band also, patti has not changed still vibrant.and meat makes the combination glow
So great to see this. Meat Loaf was the soundtrack to my senior year in high school and beyond. I absolutely love his great 'background' band and he loved them. RIP Mr Aday. 🙂
I will always prefer Ms. Patti Russo as the lead female vocalist. Others may be younger but none have MS. Russo's voice or stage presence!
For me, Aspen Miller blows them ALL away, both vocally and visually! (Ain't opinions a bitch?)
@@randystevens4054 I think Marion Raven is the absolute best!
Bonjour
Karla Devito gets my vote.
RIP Meatloaf My Dad introduced me to meatloaf. Some many memories I have involve his music. His music has gotten me through so tough times. A True Rock legend.
Obviously your Dad is one smart cookie!
I’m still crying:: ☹️
I met Meat L in my hometown Westport, Connecticut back in 1984 at Longshore. He had played in a celebrity vs the Police Department at Greens Farm Elementary School along with Paul Newman, Rodney Dangerfield and Imus. He was so normal and nice not to mention a great ball player. He had coached baseball in a local school and lived in my town though at the time I didn’t know that. He was aces. ❤
Wow !!
Never heard of that show
I run an archive of the dates of his shows so I'll look into it
Incredible information tho
RIP Meat. We will miss you.
We thank you and Jim for the best damn music out there
Your work will live on forever and be enjoyed for ever.
What a life you had.
Keep on Rocking !!!!!!
TY for mentioning Jim.
REST IN GREAT PEACE MEAT LOAF..THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT AND TIMELESS MUSIC!!!..ROCK ON!!!!..GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS.....
Have listened some of Patti s solo s sung outside the group.Pretty good.
My father showed me meat loaf's songs when I was a kid and I'm so thankfull for that! Epic music and an awesome entertainer! He was a true legend!
R.I.P Jim Steinman... Thank you Jim 🤘🏻 🦇
... and now Meat. Both reunited with their "better half."
I always loved Meat Loaf. But with this band playing harder is something beyond great!! RIP forever in our memories...
It's 2019 and all I can think about is: WHAT A LEGEND! What an epic performance by Meat, Patti and the whole band. Do you think in 45 years people will still remember todays trash?
A resounding !!!NO!!! to answer that question. I'm glad I grew up in that era, I was a young teenager when the first "Bat Out Of Hell" was released, and EVERY kid I knew came over to listen over and over. Sad that kids that age today will never have memories of great music as fond as what we have.
Yyyeeesss!!!
Will remember Meatloaf and other great 70's and 80's classics, not today's ?!$*# . A generational thing, the wheel keeps spinning, though....
@@PianoManPaul I love 🦇 bat out of hell 📀🎥🍿📀
Is and always will be one of the best.
Its a crime this man is not in the rock and roll hall of fame.
Its a crime because He was murdered by the poisoned shots!!
@wolfmanjack6979 He wasn't shot. He was in very bad health for the last decade and had multiple surgeries shortly before his death.
@@lapis591 I think he ment meatloaf got the clot shot and that's what killed him. Not that he was shot by a gun.
Amazing to watch these guys perform
The best live, was the Australia, Melbourne Symphony one, like if you have heard it.
Byłeś wielki..Zostaniesz w moim sercu do końca moich dni..
classical rock and roll classical, damn fine band, pure unadulterated rock and roll, the boss and the loaf the two hardest working men in entertainment
Legend !
The man has pipes....no mistaking the voice....loved his work on Nugents Free For All album Together ,Writing On The Wall... pure rock
Te vamos a recordar como el mejor !!!!! que en la musica descanses!!!
He can make a grown man cry - RIP
Rest In Power, LEGEND!!
I still have his CD from Bat out of hell in my truck since 08 always listen to it you can’t get rid of greatness I don’t do that . Thank you Meatloaf for your voice and music may you sing from the clouds heaven just got a new super star 🙏❤️
May you rock out with god in heaven, you will be missed and your contribution to long form music and stories will never go unrecognized. thank you for wonderful memories

Meat Loaf R.I.P
I love the live performances of #MeatLoaf he always reinvented himself... He was a complete artist... One in a million, the passion and histrionics he reflects... There will never be anyone like him... Rest in peace dear #MeatLoaf
I saw him in concert in Newkirk Okla at a casino and he put on the best concert like he would in the 70's! awesome show!
Greatest performer of all time! Beautiful soul!
So how many held their breath, hoping he'd hit the last note of BOH? What a legend. 🤘🤘
I saw him at Wembley on his greatest hits tour. He was a great then as he was here, there will never be another like him.
I might have some audio from that show laying around.
What a privilege it must be to play for Meat Loaf
Great piano, on rock and roll dreams,,Smokin..Whole show was great..
Whole tour was a treat, Hang Cool! Some shows from 2010-2011 may come to this channel one day.
Very nice to see the audience giving the love and respect to the artist !!!

will always love Meat, and loved this concert (I was there!) - but every good thing has to end and this was last good tour. But let’s focus on the positive - what an amazing career, amazing songs and one of rocks most iconic voices ❤️
LEGEND. Meat Loaf forever
To all you critics and fools who think you know better, please keep in mind that this concert highlights excellent choreography along with exceptional sound mixing by great Aussie engineers and last of all a world-class singer that has given 40 plus years of hard rock to his fans and much lesser singers would not be able to provide the energy this guy has done on stage. Stop whinging about his band having to carry him.I would suggest that you critics go through his concerts and find me a better version of Bat out of hell than what he displayed in this concert. Don't just isolate the vocals, consider the whole piece of that song which is a piece of art. And his musician made this piece happen. What you are seeing and hearing is an experienced singer giving it everything he's got. I could fill in this column with a zillion technical explanations, but I don't need to because,I can see that this cat knows his stuff, and meatloaf is not just a frontman living off his past glory. he is the conductor that is making sure the whole band works in harmony, without over the top guitar solos,or whacky drum fills. This man worked his ass off to give his fans 2 hours of all his years of experience, which is much more than other pretentious hard rock mus, os that like to think they know it all. For the record, this man is humble and does not give a stuff about musical gimmicks. Like he said in one of his interviews, he plays the role he does, not feel it. So sit back and enjoy the show, and stop looking for deficiencies,at the end of the day its just entertainment. everybody chill out and lets rock on
You are so right! These so called experts don't know nothing.
Well said. This voice is a legend. Do not criticize!
He should have hung up the towel and spared people their ears and money
Getting on in years and still a class act.
What a legend 👏 I grow up listening to his music . ... brilliant performance by such a talented guy ..... RIP MEATLOAF 🙏...
Love patties voice, sound powerful and soulful.
Wow. What a band! Great concert
Meat ur truly amazing. No other artist shows the same passion like u do. In fact today’s artists suck. They only in it for fame and money not like u. I got same passion in life as u with trains. I go totally nuts when I see a train lol rock on meat your the best now and forever more.
Wow wot can I say meat just gets better n better even now he still sounds amazing live n I've seen him twice n wow love ya meat RIP jim steinman keep rocking n rolling up there
