Dude, one time I read this weird book about dragons, which I picked up because the title had stuff about dragons on it and the summary involved dragons, and then the dragon ditched the protagonist three chapters in, and she spent the rest of the book being abused until she gets to university, where it is then revealed that the entire magic system of this world is powered by sex and the reason she was failing her classes at magic school was because she was studying instead of fucking random dudes like her roommate was. I then put the book down forever. I was 12. I picked up a book about dragons. I wanted to read about dragons. I'm still a bit traumatized.

Okay you're in luck, I can't remember the title but I did some speedy googling and it's definitely 'Here There Be Dragonnes' by Mary Brown. I will warn you, it doesn't read like erotica, there's too long between the sex scenes and too much plot. If you want erotica, go read that, and if you want fantasy with sex in it I would recommend the GoT books over this one (I didn't like them much either, but they made a bit more sense). The "lore reason" is because they're fully dependent on blood to retain their sanity. And since love and/or horniniess *really* gets the blood pumping, that sends the vampires into a high so great that it can be described as them being "in heat." Which also comes with a side effect of them being incredibly overprotective of any mortals they might fall in love with, since the vampires don't actually have a beating heart, but mortals obviously do. This is 100% deep lore and *totally* not some bisexual fulfillment fantasy.
The best part is that at a certain point, if your fetish gets wild and/or depraved enough, people can no longer tell the difference. If the big reveal is that your villain is keeping an angel bound by iron chains in his basement and drinking its blood to steal its power, nobody would bat an eye, but there is a specific subset of traumatized gay people on the internet for whom that concept is INCREDIBLY arousing.

I'm going to be honest with you man, playing as a holier than tho goody two shoes character sounds a whole lot more boring, when I could be playing as Karen the Dog Breeder, the blonde beast master ranger who really, and I mean REALLY, loves her wolf animal companion. Or a rogue who wears incredibly tight black leather armor and uses a whip. Or the classic duo, the sadistic healer and masochist tank. The cult just breeds incredibly fun ideas as opposed to generic paladin A and other generic paladin B
The solution is simple: make the Holy Order secretly just as kinky as the cultists. Hell, it doesn't even have to be secret, if you dress it properly Example: "In order to repent your sins, you have to walk barefoot for a month. Also you have to put on this leather outfit and allow yourself to be whipped. Trust me, this is all essential to your penance"
The Holy crusaders' main method of fighting the defence cult involves hiding as their victims so they can take them by surprise. Just hint at that, and your players will have *no* trouble playing the Holy Order.
Make the Holy Order more righteous and strong, and show the cultists as sickly, weak, and physically rotting from their depravity, borderline zombies. Give the Holy Order access to cleansing flames, lightning bolt smites, and Holy Hand Grenades. Playing as good guys and especially Paladins has been my favorite thing ever since I discovered roleplaying.

Idk if its the autism but most of my best world/character building ideas come from me trying to make sure my non-canon, never-to-be-released personal fap scripts make logistic sense to the universe. One of my main, most important villains came from an offhand script I made when I was down bad.

Have elements to it that keep you coming back, and what could do that more than a fetishis? Honestly, the idea of bodily based magic is kind of cool. Earth bending is connected to the feet, it's basically an unspoken rule that you either have to have your feet on the ground to bend earth you aren't in contact with. Fire bending is said to come from the stomach, which creates the body's energy, and the breath, and it extends past someone's limbs. There are definitely ways in which bending is linked to body parts. Different body parts and even bodily fluids being given different magical properties actually sounds like a cool idea to me, even if it could easily be twisted into fetish material or body humor.
You know, at the end of the day, the best stories are the ones that make the author happy, and if that means incorporating their kinks into the worldbuilding, then by the gods, ride that wave of passion!

It's not totally implausible society could wrap back around to that. As for Nuns, well, EVERYONE in those books is hyper religious, at least once the Harkonnen are out of the picture.
I did something similar once, but with vore. It was main stream, a societal institution, even had a religion built around it. The main character was a rogue wolfman who rejected vore, and so, being neither predator nor prey, he was a third-class citizen known as a "deviant". The message? "When deviance becomes main-stream, the ordinary becomes deviant." Needless to say, the story never took off, and never got finished. For this I am grateful. Had some good characters, though.

But it seems like that's mostly about advanced users who train their own custom models, and write huge prompts, and use AI tools to correct the bad parts from another AI tool's work. For the casual DALL-E user, not much has changed in that time. But I'm sure it will improve soon enough for us casuals as well, as people figure out how to make this stuff more user-friendly.

FATAL seems to be deliberately made for shock value, or perhaps to pander to a certain group. Aside from the sex, there are also mechanics for peeing, bad game mechanics, and sexist/racist worldbuilding elements.
It's a test of 2 things: One, is it outside of the Simple area where it is merely a physical trait you are focusing on (so instead of bare feet something along the lines of clothing or actions) And two, how good is your storytelling ability to integrate that into a world. If anyone has the little voice in their head say "The writers poorly disguised fetish" you have failed

Which also comes with a side effect of them being incredibly overprotective of any mortals they might fall in love with, since the vampires don't actually have a beating heart, but mortals obviously do.
This is 100% deep lore and *totally* not some bisexual fulfillment fantasy.
You could make the argument, a very strong argument for books like Dracula, that vampires were, in literature, a metaphor for gay people.

Like, I feel like I can write something at least as good as a generic 'teen girl is a secret half-fae princess who falls in love with sexy elf assasin' book, and if that can have a 3+ star rating then there's gotta be hope for me!
As someone who reads those books, you absolutely can do better lol. The bar is not high, and by simply writing a novel with good characters you have probably passed it.
I mean, satisfying sexual urges (note: only the urges specifically, intimacy is higher up) is at the bottom of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, so no wonder anything that satisfies it and is relatively easy to access sells well. Or gets a lot of traffic.

I have an idea for a Holy Order vs. Degen Cult game. But every time I pitch the idea, my players ask if they can play as the cultists.
I'm going to be honest with you man, playing as a holier than tho goody two shoes character sounds a whole lot more boring, when I could be playing as Karen the Dog Breeder, the blonde beast master ranger who really, and I mean REALLY, loves her wolf animal companion. Or a rogue who wears incredibly tight black leather armor and uses a whip. Or the classic duo, the sadistic healer and masochist tank. The cult just breeds incredibly fun ideas as opposed to generic paladin A and other generic paladin B
The solution is simple: make the Holy Order secretly just as kinky as the cultists. Hell, it doesn't even have to be secret, if you dress it properly
Example: "In order to repent your sins, you have to walk barefoot for a month. Also you have to put on this leather outfit and allow yourself to be whipped. Trust me, this is all essential to your penance"

Just hint at that, and your players will have *no* trouble playing the Holy Order.
Make the Holy Order more righteous and strong, and show the cultists as sickly, weak, and physically rotting from their depravity, borderline zombies. Give the Holy Order access to cleansing flames, lightning bolt smites, and Holy Hand Grenades.
Playing as good guys and especially Paladins has been my favorite thing ever since I discovered roleplaying.

Idk if its the autism but most of my best world/character building ideas come from me trying to make sure my non-canon, never-to-be-released personal fap scripts make logistic sense to the universe. One of my main, most important villains came from an offhand script I made when I was down bad.

You should be excited about what your writing. Have elements to it that keep you coming back, and what could do that more than a fetishis? People can feel when passion was put into art, and ill be honest a lot of my favorite art clearly has the authors fetish as an important element, even if that isnt my thing the passion comes through.

There's so much thought put into this concept for the video that it makes me think it's some weird meta thing and the video itself is just for the fetish.

Honestly, the idea of bodily based magic is kind of cool. Earth bending is connected to the feet, it's basically an unspoken rule that you either have to have your feet on the ground to bend earth you aren't in contact with. Fire bending is said to come from the stomach, which creates the body's energy, and the breath, and it extends past someone's limbs. There are definitely ways in which bending is linked to body parts. Different body parts and even bodily fluids being given different magical properties actually sounds like a cool idea to me, even if it could easily be twisted into fetish material or body humor.
You know, at the end of the day, the best stories are the ones that make the author happy, and if that means incorporating their kinks into the worldbuilding, then by the gods, ride that wave of passion!

The main character was a rogue wolfman who rejected vore, and so, being neither predator nor prey, he was a third-class citizen known as a "deviant". The message?
