i’m a bit amused at the people defending the cops, it’s quite easy to read the situation. sure, cop had some reasons he could’ve pulled her over. but don’t you see that once he realizes who it is he immediately starts fishing for possible reasons as to why he did it, and he starts trying to hurry and leave? it’s so clear lmao. dude was probably bored and decided to harass the wrong person 🤷🏻♀️
>he realized >he immediately starts fishing for possibilities >he starts trying to hurry and leave >he probably was bored and decided to harrass someone You seem to know a lot of this mans motives
I agree, I am not 100% convinced it was because she is black because the car has dark windows. But police regularly do whatever the fuck they want and never face consequences so....
This is the kind of comment that makes me facepalm. The fact that the actual police report shows her tags came back without any information confirms he wasn't "fishing for possible reasons", also many states have window tint laws, and that was some dark tint. So, you the poster of this comment, are really bad at judging a person's behavior based on verbal clues. Obviously he was awkward, and not as concise as he could have been, but it seems you are injecting your own biased reasons why. More likely he just realized the possible implications of pulling over the State Attorney, wanted to make sure he answered her questions, and was nervous while doing so. The reason he left is is because it was literally the right course of action for him to take once he ID'd the driver, and decided the results of running the tags was most likely a system glitch. Did you expect him to stay and just chat? Why are you pointing out he left as soon as he could? It is what he is supposed to do. Then you act like the cop intentionally pulled someone over to harass them. I am not saying it doesn't happen, but it is such a small fraction of stops that it is unlikely in the first place, and her car wasn't some beat up jalopy, which would be the vehicle he would target if he wanted to harass someone. Oh, maybe your statement is predicated on him being a racist targeting a black female driver? You did notice the dark window tint right? I mean, he does point it out. Kind of hard to tell skin color through dark window tint. Then there is the fact that his partner is Black/Hispanic. Your whole comment tells me you can't correctly assess a situation because your bias is so strong that you rewrite the narrative of what happened in your head from your own biased perspective. Don't worry though, you have plenty of company, and you're not as bad as the people that posted this clip, who conveniently edited the footage so you don't get a good look at the other cop who is clearly a POC. After all, it wouldn't do their narrative of attributing racist intent any good if one of the cops was also black would it?
That is not the reason he ran her plates. There was no racism in this video. Just because someone wears a uniform does not make them a racist by default.

Amen to that. We’ve been waiting 15 1/2 years for Nashville (Metro) as they are called here to find out who killed my dad. But I learned last year Nashville is in the top 10 cities with a horrible track record of solving murders of black people. I have family who are officers who were told not to look into it yet they haven’t in years. My kid was born 2 weeks after my dad was murdered. He was so excited about having a new grandchild and didn’t get to meet her.
Exactly. They are reg police who should be PATROLING areas to be SEEN, which in itself prevents a lot of crime. They’re PEACE OFFICERS. They should not be actively SEEKING CRIME as if they’re detectives... when you’re looking very hard to find any/everything,it’s super easy to manufacture a reason to obtain those objectives
It’s not like the detectives are doing it or even trying to. How many times have they looked into this in the last 15 1/2 years one time. @Maize N Blue Watch the video again and take your “police are always right” hat off and try listening with an open mind. “Why did you run the tags?” He gives four reasons, three of which don’t apply at all: 1. We run them all the time 2. It’s the lights 3. The car could be stolen 4. The windows look dark (doesn’t cite her for a by tinting violation So yeah, very clearly gave multiple explanations, three of which were clear lies and the fourth explanation didn’t even explain why he ran her plates. She said it was a lawful stop. She didn’t say that he was truthful. She didn’t say there was nothing wrong with what he did. In fact, the police can lie and it’s not against the law. In fact, in Florida, there really isn’t anything to stop the police from racial profiling. He just didn’t want to admit that to the State Attorney:
Maize N Blue see the attorney cannot says the cops did anything bad. When they do that the cops and other attorneys harass them very badly. You have to work as a unit publicly if you in the justice department or your get fucked. So she is probably lying yes, but they are all liars.

Anyone who has ever lied to a black mom knows that little smile means she knows youre lying lol
I know, right? My BFF in high school was black. Everytime we tried to pull one over on her we'd get that smile... And then we'd get busted out and both would end up grounded.
It's a parent's smile. My spouse and I found our faces did it while listening with love & amusement to our faux-sincere teen. "Really, 'A' for effort here -- but I'm not buying your story," is what our smiles said.
You ain't never lied bout that and I'm irish

That's nice she shut that cop down, but how bout all the other people that get harassed by police that aren't in a position of power like SHE is in to actually be taken seriously when they place harassment complaints on cops for racial profiling?????
If everything the cop is doing is perfectly legal, why does he get so flustered when she asked him valid questions. His tone screams, I'm busted doing too much and I need to choose my words very careful.
My husband had a very similar thing like this to happen to him in San Diego, CALIFORNIA around 1967. My husband was "A Sheriff and two local Policemen stopped him, "While driving while Black". When they got him down to the Precinct unfortunately But Fortunately The Police Captain saw my husband and the two arresting officers were bringing him in to arrest him. The Captain at the front desk asked "Hey Buck! What did you do? Well the two Officers were astonished to know that the Captain knew my husband. I’m my head I’m imagining:
“Do you know why I pulled you over?”
“Yes sir, I believe I do.”
i’m a bit amused at the people defending the cops, it’s quite easy to read the situation. sure, cop had some reasons he could’ve pulled her over. but don’t you see that once he realizes who it is he immediately starts fishing for possible reasons as to why he did it, and he starts trying to hurry and leave? it’s so clear lmao. dude was probably bored and decided to harass the wrong person 🤷🏻♀️
>he realized
>he immediately starts fishing for possibilities
>he starts trying to hurry and leave
>he probably was bored and decided to harrass someone
You seem to know a lot of this mans motives

I have been pulled over for bogus reasons bc police are trying to FIND a crime, if they quit doing that they would have more time to stop/solve actual crimes.
Amen and catch child predators!!!
And at least the community know my family members because they with them. People are more willing to talk to people they know and grew up with and it’s gonna treat them decently then some outside of just coming into their community.

Signs a person is lying:
1. They ask you to repeat the question so they have time to think of a lie: check
2. They laugh nervously: check
3. They offer multiple explanations in their lie: check
@Maize N Blue the State Attorney lied? Explain how. The cop lied by giving four explanations for why he ran her plates, one of which made absolutely zero sense (tinted windows). She asked him a valid question and he panicked and clearly lied.
@Maize N Blue Did you watch the video? He changed his reason for pulling her over four times in five seconds. That doesn’t give you any pause.
She said she wanted to sit down and talk to the police about how to improve mutual respect between police and the community. That doesn’t sound like someone who believes the police did nothing wrong in that encounter.
@Maize N Blue Watch the video again and take your “police are always right” hat off and try listening with an open mind.
“Why did you run the tags?”
He gives four reasons, three of which don’t apply at all:
1. We run them all the time
2. It’s the lights
3. The car could be stolen
4. The windows look dark (doesn’t cite her for a by tinting violation
So yeah, very clearly gave multiple explanations, three of which were clear lies and the fourth explanation didn’t even explain why he ran her plates.
Maize N Blue I just told you she isn’t risking her job by lying. It’s the opposite. She would be risking by telling the truth. Why the fuck would she ask for the cops info if they were doing the right thing? It’s pretty oblivious the justice department.
Had to come back to see this clip. That smile on her face as he tries, and fails, to explain away what he was doing. Beautiful.
