It's fantastic ! Makes the whole space brighter and inviting. All the best and greetings from Prague, CZ. Here, hardwood floors are in all the old buildings ( parquet ).
Could have taped off the edges of dark side and stained the lighter side to more closely match. Play w stain for 10 minutes, find color, wouldn't know the difference.
The second I saw that stain I immediately thought to myself "it's there for a reason". Lo and behold, two types of wood. Customer should have restained dark. Looks not very thought through and kinda tacky now
The floor would have looked better if they didnt put water based finish.water based finish is total garbage does not last , should have used a swedish finish
That’s just wrong! Let’s not try at all to rectify the underlying issue. Oh nobody will notice this! You could have at least fixed the rows to be a straight line. Cut it out and put a transitional border strip, maybe a decorative design strip as transition. You did a good job sanding, but seriously?!!
Seems it was discussed with client and that is what they wanted, but I agree with you. Cut out the transition and place boards running the other direction for example. Maybe when they furnish it am area rug will cover it.
@@jbeutell I understand that perspective. You can only do what the customer is paying you for. But, maybe that’s not the job you want to do a video of. 🤷♂️ I build cabinets, and sometimes cringe when the customer picks out some horrible looking hardware. I usually just take pictures before I put the ugly knobs or handles on. They have to live with it, I guess there’s no accounting for taste.
Nice contrast between the two different types of wood. Before: Blah…. After: Character. Bravo!
Thank you! Cheers!
That's awesome to look at because the change of colors brightens the look of the house. Great job well done
It's impressive to see the removal rate of those machines.
I love the way it turned out.
Oh wow, brick bond short stacks!! This is my kinda frugal style I'd do after a dozen or so really big jobs, that and herringbone, love it!!

I figured you would have to take the baseboard off, or at least the quarter round
Mahogany shorts?! Just when you thought you’ve seen it all. Is it santos and some other exotic?

Huh? I thought it was super unique and not a flaw at all!

That's why it was done black, to hide the 2 mismatched colours
