- Ever had one of them days when the curtain twitchers come out to give you advice on the job. Well this was one of them days so i thought id have a bit of fun with this and turn him into the Harry Endfield character (Mr You Dont Wanna To Do It Like That) (Only Me). The likeness is uncanny. I do wonder if Harry Endfield bump into this fella at some point too 🤣.
After all the hassle at the start i pressure cleaned this driveway, and returned the following day to re-sand, Hence i came in the car as the job was 35 miles away.

What a difference it makes when the driveway is cleaned up and resurfaced. Such a beautiful house too
I see why the place is empty, the previous owners have that pain in the ass neighbor, a leaf has blown in my garden, what a jerk.
We’d just moved into our house and garden was a tip, we cleared it and after consulting the neighbour we put up new fencing (on the side that was not our responsibility) so he got brand new, a very smart new border for free, we used the permitted height of 6 feet.... he wasn’t too pleased and said he would have been happier with a height of 3 to 4 feet (Nosey?) anyway, about a year later we noticed bottom of each fence was starting to discolour pretty quickly, he had decided to build up the soil in his garden to nearly a foot above the gravel boards keeping the new fencing constantly damp and under pressure, so, I removed all 7 panels and dry stored them, his soil over spilling onto my garden, and allowing my other next door neighbours dogs a free run of his garden via a convenient purpose built access across my garden.... he never said a word! 6 months later he dropped the soil levels and I returned the panels, his wife, who was a lovely lady called me one morning and quietly apologised for his actions, she said “ Just between me and you, he’s a pathetic little pr*ck” When he goes to work, she pops round for a cup of tea.....😉

Always be wary of border disputes, and getting too close with your neighbours.
Many years ago we were friends with the couple next door, having dinners with them in each other’s houses, helping out with jobs, having my hair cut by her next door etc.
It all went very sour when we mentioned that their pear tree was pushing our fence over a bit. The tree was right next to the fence and one branch (about 1” diameter) was growing towards the fence and putting pressure on it making the top lean over into our garden. We asked them to cut the branch off..... and that’s when the fight started....
They point blank refused to trim their tree despite us asking several times.
Now I know my rights, but we tried to keep the peace to no avail. It got so bad that I even threatened to cut the whole bloody tree down!😡.
Then we had an idea, we got our whole garden landscaped by a couple of contractors (and explained the issue). Out came the old fences and in went new ones correctly in line with the boundary and in the course of work their tree was trimmed pretty severely, but only in line with the boundary.
Told them if they have an issue contact the gardeners that did the work. Not a whisper from the neighbours.
We never spoke again until we had a drop kerb driveway installed, she objected strongly, but again we knew our rights and just laughed in their faces as they had no legal challenge at all.
Never get too friendly with your neighbours, and be firm when it comes to boundaries, remember an “Englishman’s home is his castle”😂😂😂

Chubby my ignorant neighbour did the same. I put in a six foot fence so he raised his path about eight inches when he had it landscaped. Now all the gravel boards have rotted and the fence panels are starting to sag in the middle. Tosser.
Pooleater build up your side by 3 feet...then pop a fence on top!
Another fantastic job done! Just tell the old sod that 37 thousand people will be at his door tomorrow to sort him out 😂

What a transformation, fantastic job. We’ve all come across ‘those’ type of neighbours ✊🏻✊🏻
I used to have a neighbour that would curtain twitch constantly and send his wife out whenever he moved his car with a massive block of wood so nobody would park in 'his' space (this was before we all had driveways, it was just a space on the road). This went on for years, if anyone did end up parking there everyone would get knocks on their doors until they found the culprit. That block of wood was lugged for years and years. Then one day he died.
I wonder how much of his life was spent pissing about with a bit of road?
The family that live there now don't have a dropped curb, but I do. I tell them to park over it whenever they like as long as I've got enough room to get the nose of my car out. Why? Because they're nice people and the dad often works crazy hours, mum is disabled.
What's my point? Empty people fill their lives with the most mundane things to complain about and bring down others. Then they die. If you're positive, maybe someone will do something nice for you and have something more to talk about other than a parking space story after you're gone.

Superb job mate. I think that old git is probably jealous of his neighbours pristine driveway. I could always knock up a sign telling everyone to have theirs done and watch the priceless look on his face 😁😆😅
He has a shared driveway with his neighbour, He neighbour ask me to quote and said he will got half on the cost if the noisy neighbour would, Put a quote through his door. I did put on the bottom of the quote it would be good to keep up with the neighbours. His driveway was is a right state too, Maybe too tight to pay out to get it done was my thoughts

I am yet to fathom the mindset of such people. When I was a youngster doing window washing I had a woman moan at me that I was getting water droplets on the pavement. I asked her what she does she do when it starts to rain. Got all pissy with me after that and I just told the boss to leave me out of it next time he did that house.

I’m a surveyor technician and have dealt with Nosey Neighbours (or NN for short when our field party uses codes!) and they ask what I’m doing. I simply tell them “I’m working” and leave it at that. If they pester me further, l say “I’m surveying”, then if they keep going l say “I’m surveying this property” - just keep pointing out the bleeding obvious to them. They soon get the hint!
I am also so surprised how casually he goes into his neighbours property while complaining about a tradesman they have hired to improve their property. Well and truly into their property with no shame.

Tony Gorham I have a neighbour who threw a temper tantrum over a small gap in the fence, it really was annoying. Typical retired neighbour, with nothing else to worry about
My mum N dad have one each side they hate trees my parents have a listed reconverted barn and listed trees you have to get permission to have trimmed when my parents were on holladay nexed door cut one of the trees and chucked the branches behind my parents summer house they have caused all kinds of problems over the years they are both drunks 🙄 the other side has the leaf blower on 24 7 .
People are sad.

Fantastic job Ricky! - Before, I bet the paper boy dreading delivering to that house with the haunted, sketchy feel to it....then after...Bam....it's like a pleasant, airy feel and very inviting. What a huge difference just a tidy up and clean has done to it. Super. Bet the nosy neighbor now feels an inch smaller because you've increase the curb appeal of that house. Hehe.

One question, what do you do about the silt etc. that washes onto the pavement and road? That is one of my only gripes, particularly with home owners doing this job when their drive slopes toward the pavement, they just leave piles of sand and silt all over the pavement and down the road and eventually into gullies which can obviously lead to blocking. I always get a giggle as well as they then drive/walk in and out they are just carrying more than usual dirt back into and onto their drives. Do you shovel or sweep this up?
