    Now you've got me wondering what a 212CI-powered air compressor would sound like. In the world of so-called modern tools struggling to go ever more quiet, a fat, choppy V-twin compressor would be amazing! I'd have to find reasons to run it as often as possible. 😁

    One of the things that has vanished from the country is DIY ingenuity. All the old farmers and ranchers were always making their own inventions from scratch for the various situations that arose. So many things are able to be purchased pre manufactured in our day that this is completely lost! It was fun to see you throw all that together.
    From a truck driving perspective, id like to see you rig up and UNBELIEVABLE strobe light show/set up for roadside work. Im talking massive show of force, shock and awe type lights! Drivers are getting scarier each week out here on the road. All the extra stuff you can come up with to Catch their attention will help keep you safe while busting beads along that crazy I-15 corridor.

      @kmac9759  2 года назад +1

      And its so much cheaper to do it yourself. My hope and plan is not to do roadside repairs. Im looking more toward cars and pick ups. The heavy duty tires I want to do is night and weekend work for someone replacing a set of worn out tires. Ill go out to where they park the truck instead of them having to have the driver sit at a tire shop and down the truck for half a day.

      @@kmac9759 I like that plan much better than roadside ! You’ll find a great niche there doing tires in their yards. Way to get after it 👌🏼

      Yeah, I’ve done the road side work. No thanks. With that being said. If your in the Utah I-15 area and have tire troubles, give Utah Mobile Tire a call. Should be up and running soon.

    nice Fabrication ! in my large Woodworking Shop we started using a lot of Clear reinforced Air hoses for short runs grant you it was all indoors and out of Ultra violetRays we used those quick Hose Clamps that got Crimped on with their tool designed for just that i was with the Compant for 35 years and we never had any failures of those simple small runs it was Simple Easy Peasy way to connect fittings and even a few small tools here and there to our Hard lined system honestly we grew so confident in them that we have plumbed some semi permanent machinery utilizing those same systems I mention that not to be a Know it All but to offer a possible Solution that may be faster than waiting for a CustomBraidedLine as you stated you were getting for the new Compressor set up and a business start Up business venture

    I built a similar arrangement for my house electric compressor (5 HP) with a motor and pump on a big piece of C channel and had a hell of a time rigging a tensioner and alignment mechanism. Did your build have the same experience? I had to put opposing draw bolts on the motor to pull the motor to tension the belt, and the other side pull the motor back towards the pump to counter the torsion and align the pulley.

    Im in the process of building one of these myself. Only thing im gonna change is gonna run a clutched pulley on the engine that way im not always spinning the compressor. And on the throttle side you might look into an air actuated throttle.

    • @kmac9759
      @kmac9759  2 года назад +1

      It has an air throttle. I didnt have the parts to connect the throttle cable to the engine. Ive got it all hooked up now so it idles when it cuts out. Its been great. I have an 80 gallon tank in a trailer, its a little slow to keep up with my 1 inch tire gun but other than that its great.

    • @kmac9759

      A larger pulley on the engine would help, but the pump is already at its max rpm. Ive got a different pump in my garage that I’m going to build another one with that is way bigger than this pump.

    I am currently trying to figure out if I should but a whole compressor or build one. My largest determining factor is choosing a compressor pump to match the motor. Do you have guides or tips for this?

    • @MichaelJeffers75
      @MichaelJeffers75 Год назад +1

      If you're mechanically inclined, definitely build one! Eaton has great American made cheap pumps that can be paired with any motor, and any pump can be driven by electric motor or gas engine just the same. I bought a large shop compressor from Marketplace for dirt cheap and had to redo the mounts on a different piece of C channel, and add a new elec motor, so essentially I built a new unit, and the process isn't that complicated. Only tricky part is working out the tension/alignment problem, but adding opposing draw bolts to each set of the motor mount bolts solves that. I have some video of my build on my channel, though it's not formatted to gain a following on RUclips, just a guy showing my stuff.

    • @sinistan1002
      @sinistan1002 Год назад +1

      depend on use case i was going to build one last year for blowing sprinkler lines out primarily i.e. short run not painting / sanding for that you don't even need a tank just a powerful enough pump + engine. big tanks by themselves seem to cost nearly as much as a whole complete new compressor but for some reason the pumps + engine alone is far cheaper, probably cheaper to do that and get a smaller bladder tank as long as the cfm is high enough it can probably even be a 10-20 gallon tank

    That engine and pump can fill a 60-gallon tank can you please try painting with it or sandblasting so we can all know if it'll handle it because with a two-stage pump that should be more than you need with any tank size you should keep up with sandblasting & painting I just don't want to waste the money and be bummed so please do some testing
