The Nestle Tollhouse cookie recipe was in an episode on Friends. Phoebe also said it was her Grandmothers recipe but it got destroyed and Monica was trying to recreate it from taste. Then Phoebe told her the name with a French pronunciation and Monica realized it was the tollhouse recipe and showed her the recipe on the back of the chocolate chips. And yep, Phoebe said that was it!

This is a garden channel, we're into maintenance. From flowers, seed starting, veg, water features, fertilizer, pest, etc. My neighbors asked me once while I was out in the garden if I was finished yet. It is never finished... it is how we decide to spend our time. And the reward of our efforts is worth it.

Laura, we have a pond that’s been so beautiful to look at and such a headache to maintain. The fish load multiplied too fast and we started having ducks living in it. We have never had clear water since. One of the certified aquascape contractor came out and we are waiting for a quote to get our pond redone. The duck population has since drastically declined which will help.Just like Aaron mentioned in the video- we need them to come and fix it and do it right. But I want him to know that our pond was professionally installed 20 years ago ( not a dyi project) and this technology that you guys now have did not exist! We can’t wait to get an aquascape pond. Thank you for posting all the details about your pond that’s what encouraged us to find this certified contractor. We live in NH and he has been on U tube videos with Gregg. We are sooooo excited to have found someone to help us! Thank you a million times over ❤

Laura, watching this week’s recap video you had a problem with your outdoor.artificial Christmas trees blowing over in the wind. I also had this problem until I stopped using the tree stand and instead drove rebar into the ground and placed the tree over the rebar. Now no problems even on windy days. Works really well.

Don't lose hope on the redwood! I live in Ontario Canada and am also in a zone 6(ish). I fell in love with redwoods a couple of years ago during a trip to Southern British Columbia which is a zone 8. I have since planted two different dwarf type redwoods in my small side garden. It gets a fair bit colder here so every fall they turn colour and defoliate and then push fresh growth in the spring.

That pond maintenance is no different than starting a new garden. At the end of my first year, I had so many pests I was ready to give up. During the second year, I was better prepared to deal with them. And in the third year, the predators moved in and took care of the pests for me. So now that everything is balanced it’s a lot less work for me.😊

Thanks for asking about the redwood tree. I sent it a step under 1st class since it goes by plane to Seattle and I figured OR. Is right next to WA. Figured no more than 7 days but sent plants to WI and GA. They received the one in GA in 3 days while the one in WI took almost three weeks first class. Mind you, these all came from Alaska. Apparently they sent it to Atlanta then trucked it up to WI. The tree was sent UPS suppose to be no longer than 15 days and the other two were sent USPS.

Love your recap, so fun. I enjoy your interactions. Can't wait to hear what the news you will be sharing in late December.
Also, have you thought about using a shower curtain rod for your garland project. They would be heavyweight enough and they work almost the same way, you can extent as much as you need then turn it to make it tight.
    Have a blessed day everyone.

Watching this morning before I get ready for church and heard your comments about tension rods. The really thick ones are shower curtain rods. I’ve used them for entryway into my dining room.

The glass icicles replace tinsel! YAY! The vertical shimmer adds a different structure to the horizontal boughs.

I'm so glad to hear you say you are doubtful about the "new" zones. A lot of us down South are really leary of these new zones and ours are no where near the change yours are. I'll believe these new zones when we've had a couple of winters under our belts!

Buy some lotuses for your pond Laura! We cut off the foliage in Fall and then simply overwinter the lotus tubers in their pots in the pond through the winter.

On standard tree roses, I use the gray foam pipe covers that people put over their copper pipes in the winter. I put them around the lead branch. You can get them at any hardware store.

Hi, Laura: For the hack that you saw with a tension rod, try using a shower curtain rod instead. They won't sag and are larger in diameter, so they won't sag. They come in a variety of colors as well. Can't wait to see what the surprise is for next year!!!!
