It's across genres and styles that he is able to make a song emotionally connect with the audience. What an absolute gift for a singer to have.

@@Alexal_PTSodaPop Yes, I'm a big fan of Linkin Park and Chester. I've listened to Chester's work outside of Linkin Park, from his previous band Grey Daze through Dead By Sunrise to cover performances in supergroups like Kings of Chaos and Camp Freddy. I think he always brought this emotional authenticity and passion to everything he did, and showed a lot of versatility as an artist. He is dearly missed for his work, and his sweet personality ❤️
@@Alexal_PTSodaPop Dead By Sunrise arose because Chester had some songs that didn't really fit where Linkin Park was at, at the time. He played those song ideas to his friends from the band Julien-K, and they encouraged him to keep working on the songs. He let them play around with the songs, and the songs eventually became their songs, not just his, and they formed a new band, Dead By Sunrise. Mike Shinoda also had parallel work with his project Fort Minor. He and Chester were supportive of the other's work outside of Linkin Park, and Linkin Park always took priority. Chester also briefly became frontman for the band Stone Temple Pilots, one of his favourite bands. He had to quit due to his commitment to Linkin Park and his family, but I'm so glad he got to experience that for a while.
Chester is looking down at the third verse because he had a lyrics sheet to reference - they apparently were asked to add this cover by the festival it was performed at, so he and Mike threw it together pretty quickly. That makes it even more impressive to me just how good it was. Not to mention that this cover was performed during the encore, after Chester had gone full-steam on about 18 songs before he sang this. He was absolutely astonishing, especially live!

That is new for me! Had no idea he had some parallel work besides Linkin Park! Yeah, he sure has lots of charisma as well!
