This was INSANELY helpful! My parents own 2 label makers, one of them being the 160, and they both were broken (at least I thought they were). I followed the last step you recommended and was relieved when it started printing! Thank you so much!

Second step didn't work for me as the motor was completely stuck. What fixed it for me was taking the 6 screws out and popping the front face off. At that point I could access a white gear at the top of the unit. I rotated this with a small flat head about one full turn and tada! Thanks for the video which helped me figure out what was wrong!

Good video, thanks for sharing. None of the solutions worked for me, but I did a Factory Reset and it cleared the label jam message and worked. • @EBCorporations

If anyone has tried both methods and your spindle is freespinning (aka no resistance when hand turning) the issue is an internal part not connecting. Basically, there's a small spring on the gearing arrangement with a bent part of said spring sticking out to connect to the spindle. Here's my advice: it's thoroughly broken.
I fixed mine after an hour of teardown and cussing getting that bent piece to line up with the spindle notch. Yes, it's working, but only after a very difficult and possibly damaging hour. If you're not technical or don't want to waste an hour possibly damaging the internals (LCD to ribbon or soldered wires), I advise you to just toss it.

If the video advice for this pen crap was no use, I will share the solution I found. I also had the problem that I didn't print anything and the message "Label jam" appeared. I changed batteries, put new, rechargeable, more new batteries and nothing; I searched and followed RUclips tips and websites and nothing. after I was about to throw it away one afternoon I took it apart; After all, if he armed it incorrectly or died flat, it had never worked. I disarmed it almost completely until I saw the engine and the gears. I found a piece of plastic that stuck between the gears and a gear was stuck on the shaft where it turns. The solution was to enlarge the center of the gear and remove the piece of jammed plastic. This repair does not require special tools, just a mini Phillips screwdriver, a lot of patience and care not to lose anything and leave everything in its place. but if successful it is satisfactory to fix the marker. Cheers

I finally fixed mine! Brand new out of the box and it had a tape jam! After watching a few videos I tried cleaning and turning the print head. The wheel that pulls the tape forward wasn't even moving. I kept messing with it several times and trying to turn the rubber part above the gear and somehow I finally got both of them turning easily and bam! Tape jam gone!

Its more of the motor/spinner gets stuck after not being used. By turning it you are getting it greased up. Lucky for me a have a bench power supply so I connected it to it. Manually spun it got one print then placed batteries and its working great. Just remember it needs to be used once in awhile to keep the gears loose

But I found out mine was jammed because the thin black outer tape had wrapped around the lower white guide.
I used a dental style pick and small needle nose pliers to remove all the black film that was jamming my machine.
Look carefully as some of this film may be hard to see.
When I inserted the cartridge I made sure I had an inch of the tape outside of where it exits the machine.
    Bingo it now works👍👍

I just had this issue, and neither of the fixes worked. So I took it apart.
The motor had become partially disconnected from the mount and was no longer engaging with the gears. A dab of superglue and resetting its position worked. But I had to take everything apart to find out that was the problem. Might be necessary regardless, because it's just about impossible to get at otherwise. But it might be possible to just take the back off and push it back into place with a jeweler's screwdriver or something, and glue it.
