    The dark ride was never abandoned. It operated as a mine themed ride until quick draw was put in.
    The tower on soarin eagle is not repurposed. It came with the ride. Not sure if you assumed or if someone gave you bad info.
    The silver bullet also got parts from viper, but they didn’t swap out the train entirely. Just pieces.
    Nightmare is not in the building anymore. The building is completely empty of the coaster. The only portion that remains is what you see outside.

      When did they shut down the nightmare ride? I know the last time I was on it was in the 90s sometime. It was always closed most of the time when I went there but there was one particular time we got to ride it.

    • @Porcf81
      @Porcf81 9 дней назад +1

      @@johnnyjohns3863 It closed after the 2000 season. It's still sitting in the park's bone yard across the road from Wildcat.

    There’s a secret passage to get from one side to the other without walking around the parking using the old exit cue from nightmare. It’s usually blocked.

    • @okieg8960
      @okieg8960 2 года назад +3

      For better context, it’s the old cue line that connects to the back of the grand carousal to the exit of nightmare mine. You’ll walk directly under the lift for the log fume ride. The path is visible from google maps and it’s open on Halloween only.

    I've rode the nightmare mine roller coaster when it was on the front of the park in the 1980s. This was the first coaster I took my oldest son on. Since then we've been on we’ve been on coasters at Fuji’ Q Highland Highland park, Japan; Toshimaen Park, Japan; Summerland, Japan; Magic Mountain, California; Funtastic Park, Guam; Sea World & Six Flags San Antonio Texas; Busch Gardens, Virginia; Six Flags, Houston Texas; both Disney Cali & Disney Florida & more!

    Unfortunately nightmare mine isn’t inside the barn anymore, only the outside track is noticeable. The rest of the track is just off site at a dump yard for the park. It’s the red/ white track. Inside is just the haunted Hause for Halloween. But supports for the drop are still intact as well as the cue line.

    What is interesting about Wildcat is, it came from Fairyland Park in Kansas City. It sat idle for years. Although the Park chose Deer Creek's choice as Wildcat. The coaster at Fairyland Park was also named WILDCAT.

    Here is something a ride called the Tomahawk was a very popular ride. I remember that me and fellow worker was in the janitor closet getting ready to clean the bathrooms that was under it when we heard a loud clash then when we stepped out of the closet we saw the arms swinging loosely. It was dismantled after a few years and what was put in place is the lasso ride which it is a kiddie ride in Germany. Now the park still has the tomahawk ride. It lies in what called boneyard. A graveyard of rides. They couldn't replace a gear that broke off.

    You should of got with me on some of these things. Silver Bullet 's Headrests actually came from Greezed Lightning Trains. The head rests were installed in 2018 when Six Flags took back over the park. Also the mountain Ghost mine opened with the park in 1958. There is actually one building in the park that predates the park and was actually a home that sat on the property. The mountain original to the park was first called Ghost Mine, then Treasure Mountain and finally Quick Draw. There was a time in the early to mid 80's before it became Treasure Mountain that it was a event space. There is actually a Tribute on the operatore stand says Treasure Mountain Mining Company. The Tower for Soaring Eagle actually came with the ride. It is new not a repurposed tower. I can tell you which is the oldest rides original to the park etc. I'm a long time fan of the park and help run a fan page for the park. I'm an unofficial historian of the park. Good video and I like that you found the photo of James C. Burge .

    • @Colaholiker

      You're right about Silver Bullet. It is very easy to tell the trains apart, since Silver Bullet is the only Looping Star to have the 1st generation front cars, while Viper had the 2nd generation style. Normally, Schwarzkopf had already switched to 2nd generation trains when Bullet was built in 1978, but I guess the original owners wanted it to resemble Magic Mountain's Revolution as closely as possible, both in the shape of the train (Revolution ran 1st gen trains before thy were swapped with new trains a few years ago) and in the color scheme which was nearly a copy of Revolution. It was even advertised as being "the latest creation from America" when traveling the German fairs in the late 70s. I guess that sounded more spectacular than the true origin of the ride, a small village in Bavaria. ;-)

    • @jorgechris2vr184

      Six Flags never BUILT frontier city, they just bought it. Unless you’d consider an older car that you receive way later in your life as your “first car” because of its age, SFOT is still the first Six Flags! Hope that helps.

The dark ride was a gold mine ride when i worked there and it went the opposite dirrection too. Loved working at the park and has been a six flags park for quite sone time. All engineer work for that park came out of the St.louis Six Flag .
