Fun fact. The gunfight show has actually been moved and changed over the years. Whether or not Frontier City had the first, it was previously located immediately outside the side doors of the Oklahoma Opry building, by where they do the old fashioned photos (or did last time I went, which was before the installation of the steel lasso). I think the staging for it was a lot bigger back then too, but I was a wee one.
I also think you would have enjoyed Tomahawk and Mind Bender, back when they were located at the park.

Even though I am from Germany (and live there), FC has somewhat become my home park.
People may say "Are you crazy? You have Europa-Park and Phantasialand around the corner???" Yes, that may be true, but either one is a 2.5 hours drive away, and driving on the infamous German Autobahn just sucks. 2.5 hours there stress me out more than a cross-country drive in the United States would. I do whatever I can to avoid it, so I haven't been to any German park in years. Unfortunately none of the parks has a decent option to get there by train - the last miles between the station and the park you have to spend in overcrowded shuttle busses - if you get on at all, otherwise you have to wait another hour until the next bus departs.
On the other hand, I work for the German branch of an OKC based company, so I get to go there quite often (well, not this year... :-( ), and from there it's just a few minutes to the park. Of course they are small, and they don't have the big thrill rides, but I totally agree that no other park that is part of Six Flags operations has such a great theming. And loving old Schwarzkopf coasters, what can be better than the very first Looping Star ever made? ;-)
Maybe it's also the fact that on my first visit to the park I met someone who now plays an important role in my life...
Anyhow, regarding future additions to the park, I heard that the go-kart track is permanently closed and will be removed to vacate some land for a new ride. Also there is the building that used to house an indoor coaster and is now only used during Fright Fest. Combining this building with a custom RMC Raptor, which would partially be indoors could easily put them very high on the bucket list of many enthusiasts.
It seems that Silver Bullet's lift hil is running slower this year than it did when I was there last December.
My biggest gripe about the park is the terrible food, but on the other hand that's no surprise for a park run by Six Flags.

Nightmare was the signature coaster at Frontier City... Nightmare (aka Nightmare Mine), an enclosed Zyklon / Galaxi coaster with an interesting history, has been gone for many many years....the company that made the parts needed to maintain the ride sadly became bankrupt...I bring up Nightmare because it used to fill the niche you described in the video: a coaster that packed a lot of bang into a nice little space-saving package...Nightmare is one of the most mourned coasters in Oklahoma....it was a very, very popular ride...what I'd like to see Six Flags do is to come up with something similar to Nightmare but something different...a signature coaster that sticks out and is unique to Frontier City...

    Oklahoman here!
I've been around the block a few times as far as amusement parks, mostly Texas and Ohio, but I've hit all the big spots, and I'm definitely a coaster head.
Frontier City is very... rustic, I guess? Funnily enough, I do feel like the run-down-ness of the park contributes to the atmosphere and theme more than it takes away, which sounds kinda silly, but it's a nice little spot to get lost in in a comfortable way. I can think back to plenty of summer days stretching into nights at that place.
That being said... it's a pretty low quality park, especially since they've had a lot of removals of pretty critical flat rides over the years.
I was excited that Six Flags picked it up, clearly they're interested in working with it, but I don't expect that they're going to do much beyond spruce the place up and install low profile rides and features. They just don't have much space to work with, and especially now, I doubt that they're going to do anything too drastic. Which is a shame.
I honestly wouldn't be too opposed to them even trying to push some large scale renovations. It would hurt to see it go, but if they gutted everything excluding the front of the park, I wouldn't mind, but I doubt something like that would be in the cards now. Keep an eye on it though, we might get a nice attraction or 2 in the next 5 years or so!

I appreciate you not dragging the park because it doesn't have the biggest baddest rides in the world. There is definitely a place for family parks still. I think Hersheypark is a good example of a place that does a good job of mixing big bad rides and still plenty of stuff for the future coaster enthusiasts. Maybe the extra attention from your channel now will draw some attention to Frontier City. I know im more interested in visiting now after this video.

As somebody who has FC as a home park. This park is in dire need of some new rides, and i'll be the first to say it. the majority of our rides have been hand-me-down's through the years. But the fanbase for the park has been talking and we are all in quiet agreement that if Six Flags wants to, it could really change to be something amazing in the next few years. It becomes a matter if you are willing to wait to see those changes happen. Love your review

My girlfriend lives in Oklahoma City, so I've visited Frontier City on one of my trips out to see her. It's a really underrated park, as it has the best atmosphere of any park I've been to, and seems to be very well-maintained. I also really liked Silver Bullet, and it's definitely my favorite Schwarzkopf. I'm definitely looking forward to what Six Flags will do with the park in the future, as I think they could add a lot to Frontier City without ruining the atmosphere too much.

Frontier City isn't a bad park, it's small but it's not bad. At 6:09 in the video, that big building behind the log flume use to be another rollercoaster called Nightmare. It was housed completely inside of that warehouse and was a pretty fun ride. They need to do something with that area as it hasn't been used since the rollercoaster closed down many years ago. Also, you mentioned Silver Dollar City is three hours away. Also about three hours away is Six Flags over Texas.

So I wanted to add a few things here since i use to work at Frontier City and I was a Ride Operator for Silver Bullet. The reason why they have the water in those bins is Silver Bullet use to be a Carnival coster to where they would break it down move it to city to city and build it back up until Frontier city baught the coster for a low low price to save money. the Bins with water were suppose to be filled with concrete to make it more perm. but for whatever reason they just never done it. Of course that rollercoaster is extremely old loud and is showing its age but still alot of people love that coaster.

Frontier City's best days are actually behind it if the current trajectory plays out. They actually have land to work with if they took down the concert stage. The Nightmare indoor coaster used to be the best ride at the park. I remember this park firing on all cylinders in the 90s, but now it is a shell of its former self. Sadly, this park will continue to be a collection of carnival rides unless Six Flags puts a good coaster in.

I live in the Tulsa area and have never visited the park, either I haven't had the time or haven't thought of going, I've always ended up going to Six Flags Over Texas or Silver Dollar City, my former park used to be Carowinds until I moved in 2013 to Oklahoma so I know what it feels to loose being close to a big amusement park.

High praise for the layout of Steel Lasso- which is the same layout of all other (non extended) roller skaters. ;) Not to say it isn't actually good (it is for a kiddie coaster) but I've never heard it praised like that.

I'd be interested in visiting this park one day even though I'am not sure what else there is to do in Oklahoma City. Maybe I could visit this for half a day and then visit nearby Hurricane Harbor during the other half of that day. Speaking of which, they need to relocate the kids water play area and the water slide complex inside Frontier City over to Hurricane Harbor and then build a new roller coaster or two in that old space.

After watching several videos, you may see the keys be handed to another party in 15 years. I can just see the wrecking balls hitting Wildcat now...
P.S.: I would replace it with a smaller GCI that is airtime-based and a few years later an Intamin Surfrider would go inside the Nightmare Mine building
I would also do something similar to Dollywood by making employees characters. For example, some of the park security team would ride around on horseback and be dressed as sheriffs.

I grew up in OKC and Frontier City was always fun, but I'm pretty sure I actually went to Six Flags Over Texas more frequently. Same distance away as Silver Dollar City, but a straight shot down I-35; makes it really easy to access. Frontier City used to have an indoor coaster that I enjoyed, but maybe it has been removed. (I moved away in 2005.)

I've been there before Chris. I only live 2.5 hours from it it's basically my home park. The first time I went I was little and would only ride steel lasso but the next time would end up being the trip where the journey began for my love for roller coasters. Wildcat got me over my fear as a younger kid and made me wanna ride silver bullet and then eventually get every credit at worlds of fun. So it holds a place in my heart. I am sad to say though that the last time I went diamondback was closed and back then before I started going into depth on coasters on RUclips and watching channels like yours I didn't know how rare it was and now i'm dying to get on it and secure a very rare credit before they tear it down in the next 5 years.

This feels like one of the parks close to me, which is Canobie Lake Park. Two solid coasters in Untamed and Yankee Cannonball, and then a rough as hell coaster that's down half the times in Corkscrew, and overall the park has some great theming, but I think they have an edge in flat rides with that pendulum, scrambler and Turkish Twist (one of those rides that gets you stuck on the wall). Also Boston Tea Party is a great water coaster.

Quite a shift from Magic Mountain to Frontier! Haven't been, but that park looks really nice. My home park is Slagharen in the Netherlands, which looks very similar to this, since Slagharen is also fully western themed.
A bit of a word of advice from a a small home parker: don't go in expecting big additions like RMC Wildcat (although like you said that's very far fetched anyway, doubt the structure can handle it), instead expect smaller additions and maybe a medium sized one sometimes. Raptor would be a nice fit, but I'm not sure if Six Flags is going to invest much into this park. I would say appreciate the park for what it is, and don't expect massive additions, but appreciate everything the park gets :)
