being a Djembe player myself, it starts with the connection with the spirits and us as we use an instrument that holds a lot of power in itself. these percussion drums are spiritual first and foremost. I have always felt spiritually lifted after I drum weather its somewhere like the beach or the Linda Vista Rec, or Kearny Mesa Rec Center, where I mostly drum, and I have been blessed to be drumming for 31 years in June of this year. I am thankful that I am an African drummer. its the music that soothes the spirit. I will pass away being an African drummer, and will always continue to learn, no matter how many years I play. She is a drummer for sure at heart, spirit, and she will grow to be a wonderful drummer, as long as she stays dedicated and continue to learn and grow as a drummer, and a Humanbeing. Many blessings to her and may she be inspired in life, and success, and as a drummer. God bless her.

This rhytm can anyone interested in drums learn. I'll break it down. The ground beat is basic 16th note pattern 1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a with accents on 2 and 4, basetone on 1, 3 ,and & of 2 and 4. To that basic rhytm just add some ghostnotes, accents, syncooated accents, and pauses. Finally add the rolls. These rolls are 3-stroke-rolls only. They can start downbeat (r) or upbeat (l). (The kid often start upbeat on e of 1) two or more rolls can connect in a row with different spacing in between as follow: No spacing One 16th note spacing Two 16th note spacing and so on. You want to lead this drumming on your right as usual, but every time a roll is executed the leading hand switches, so to control this make them rolls come in pairs or four or six. Or leave a 16th note pause to turn back.
In my defense, I'm 15 and I play drums, piano, bass, guitar, and djembe. I'm also a huge gamer, it's not hard to do both. While I probably enjoy music more there are many games that have great soundtracks which I enjoy (Halo)

i play 4 years and this little girl plays left hand virble that is one of the hardest "tricks" ... i can play right hand virble, triples, i can improvise, i can lead group 12 people and so on but this is HARD
