That is an insane level of grappling for a purple belt. Great kid, so much potential!
He is basically a black belt skill, im sure he would beat alot of recreational black belts. I mean its no wonder kid's been training since he was walking. He is only like 16 he isnt even gonna hit his peak for another 5-7 years, he is next generation and someone to look out in the future.
@@Omgiamsotriggered He is GOAT caliber. It is ridiculous he is a purple belt. Complete Sandbag
@@CJ-hx9du at the same time it is and its not ridiculous because he doesnt have legal ibjjf age to get a black belt haha. You need to be at least 19 years old to receive one. One might argue he is a sandbag but also a huge factor is that everyone is way older than him at that category since its an adult. So he could probably be facing dudes that are 10 years older than him.
@@Omgiamsotriggered Mica Galvao got his black belt at 17. It doesn't matter if they are 10 years older than him, only the best people can hope to beat him. The regular BJJ black belt at a local gym isn't coming close to beating him.
@@CJ-hx9du I thought ibjjf rules were that he couldn't get blue belt til he was 16, purple belt at 18, brown at 19 and black belt at 20?
Hard to dislike cole. Great attitude incredible grappler. Sky's the limit for this kid.
Cole is a phenomenal talent and universally respected everywhere. Everyone loses at some point. Cole is nice and respectful to everyone.
He's a bum
I have always seen him completely dominate, good to see him challenged
Great work, Cole. Great attitude. You've got a big future ahead, mate. Keep going.
the level of skill and athletisim from these purples is insane
I found it interesting how much pressure passing he tends to utilize versus the typical AOJ speed passing meta
Gui had amazing pressure passing
Cole is a true professional at such a young age. Excited to see him compete live at ADCC this year.
He is extremely mature for his age. Way to go :)
Giving generic responses to a loss is maturity? lol
@@ronaldt1932 Seems You need some maturing. Mb you should take his attitude as an example. Us adults know how special it is at his age.
@@DavySigfusson show me someone his age that gave a different response in that tournament ? Give me a break with that bullshit.
4:35 lol @ Galvao smiling having a good ol time not paying attention to one of his students battling Cole
Cole is TERRIFYING. Incredible to watch. Cannot wait to see more of him as his career progresses. Keep killing it.
Bro, great work out there, mentally strong and so much time to grow and develop. Look forward to rolling one day 🥋🔥💪🏼
that was the most exciting last match I have seen. Really impressed with cole!
Gotta love Cole's aggressive style. Always looking to advance and finish.
Oss
Jezz that's other purple belt at the end was very good aswell
Look out Jiu Jitsu world, Pandora's box is open and Cole Abate is about to step out of it!!!
Damn elite level mentality at such a young age. He’s gonna go far
these are the guys that are going to change the sport forever. the future. awesome to see
I was actually entertained with your skills & mic skills 🤣. But good rolling man that was cool to see you complete. 😎
So young yet so talented with such a mature and professional attitude. Truly something special.
Cole is an animal, he’s only going to get better and with his attitude and maturity, the sky is the limit for him.
Lots of respect for his jitsu and the way he carries himself!
How good is this Mourece Noah! Crazy talented! Lets go!
Jeeeeeeeez! Cole my son , you’re a beast.. keep at it, crazy level !! 👊🏾
This kid is amazing. Can't wait to see the black belt he matures into.
Can’t imagine how good he will be when he is a black belt. Complete freak of nature.
Cole will be the next superstar in the jiu-jítsu community. Valeu garoto!
Amazing the talent
Damn! That last match was awesome! A real war!! Great job!!
damn, this marcio andre student's Mourece is a pain in the ass, move so well, lot of heart on the match, so nice to watch !
Mlk desconhecido foi la e bateu um cara que é foda, queria assistir essa luta completa, esse chicano tem muito coração.
Keep pushing victory will be yours
Cole is a future superstar, good fight bro!
I was going to compete in Pans as a purple belt. Watching this guy's matches I realize there are levels to this...
Excellent attitude 👏🏼
Like this kid and he is good for the sport! Excellent sportsmanship!
Wow just an awesome final
This kid is amazing
Mlk é zica, brabo demais
You did well and looked great out there.
He is going to be a Hall of Famer
The way he takes a loss really makes me think he will undoubtedly be a champion. The best lose and he is one of the best IMO.
great go Cole, keep it up. Gotta get back in the compressed gear. Sometimes i feel the gi just locks ppl up too easily, and somethings stuck n standstill holding onto a colar or sleeve etc. Great job keep it up.
Man that final match was a Barn Burner! 🔥
I advantage point. Wow. What a tough day, congrats!! Win or learn.
He’s got a great attitude, future star
Great mindset
GREAT!
Beast!!! Talented!
I know iam going to be growing over the next few years.. Talking to gordan and them trt here we come with lil man
His guard retention is crazy dude
High level purple belt dannngggg
Dude is a stud.
He's the future face of Jiu Jitsu.
That guy stalled the end of the match when he got that advantage.
100 100
Bjj needs stall warnings like wrestling and judo. Outcomes could be different
I would do it myself
@@tomdecock6027 not for me but no hate....i like the sub wins
@@youmang I understand, I always tried to win by subs but after white belt it got so much harder to win that way. Like I tried 3 different submissions and all it gets me is advantage points because the openents was blocking. I'm not going to let those 3 advantage points go to waste because I ws to hasty trying to get a submission when tired from the previous attempts. I'm going to play guard and wait till that clock strikes 0. Hope you can understand what i'm trying to explain.
Good job cole
So is the youngsters PPV match to make between Micael Galvão and Cole Abate or with Mourece Noah ??
dude is a beast, jesus. He definitely has the potential to become world champion at the black belt level
No doubt. Then President maybe.
Then Jesus Christ one day
These professional young guns are a different breed of grappler
Imagine fighting against the guy who won worlds on your first adult fight and going the distance?! This kid is a beast.
🔥🔥🔥
i really would like to see cole go against one of the roloto broters
Interesting to see how his gi performance was different here. Still incredible, but not as dominant as his no-gi matches
Professional
Ramirez is an athletic freak, both are felt cole was more technical for sure
Love to see this kid roll with Gordan Ryan in a few years.
Hes too small for Gordon.
Wow
As a new purple belt myself, I really want to roll with him nogi
he would destroy you I think
@@filipr8711 I didnt say I want to compete with him, I said roll, train with him, but Im confident I would give him a good roll 🤓
Congratulations Cole!
Try doing those single legs you did in the semifinal, but be sure to weave the lapel between the legs and grab it with your back hand. Similar to the worm guard set up, but no leg weave. This is also similar also to Bernardo Faria's lapel weave, but not from deep half.
This setup works wonders against jumpy, runny competitors who are good at avoiding takedowns because they can't run away and they can't sprawl correctly nor posture up.
The kids are freeks nowadays I love it!
sick vid, i feel like other homie shouldve been promoted after wining worlds at purple
how many other purple belts are shifting in their seats watching this lol.
Fucking incredible
⚡️⚡️👏👏
Жесткий пурпур
Only a Brazilian could be so happy after winning by an advantage
He speaks portuguese Very well
Gotta work on setting up his shot at 5:40 . Easy sprawl for the opponent
Is he Brazilian? Sounded like they were coaching him in Portuguese.
he learned it while training in the gym as far as i remember
I was thinking the same thing but it would make sense that he learned it at the gym.
@ 6:42 is the beginning of Cole's Villain story.
O outro treinador dizendo (nada nada, ele não vai dar em nada, quando viu ele estava nas costas kkkk)
If you're a world champ purple belt or thereabouts, how are you actually a purple belt....I'd assume you'd beat a lot of brown/black belts at a local BBJ club? How do they determine what your belt is?
Look at IBJJF belt/graduation system. Age, years in, skills etc.
these guys would smoke the majority of hobbyist blackbelts / instructors no doubt.
19 years old is minimum black belt age.
4:56 wtf does that brazilian ever get tired? Literally never stops with the 100% intensity....suspicious
Lol that’s my little brother. Happens to be an Arizona state wrestling champion so he’s American but we’re Mexican and Filipino so he’s scrappy af 😂 def not suspicious. He’s just 18. His diet is ass too 😂
Lol @ purple belt. He's a top tier black belt
As a purple belt watching this, I’m like how am I even a purple belt?? This is why I stick to masters division.
A scary dude!!!
Nothing against Cole, but sometime is good to see AOJ behind in the score, they need open the game.
DAMN. Those were some fucking SCRAPS. I still think Abate is going to dominate ADCC. But that's the thing about BJJ. You can be the baddest dude in your gym but you'll face people on the mats that go just as hard and leave you going back to the drawing board.
adult debut lol he qualified for adcc, i think he's ready; go sandbag!
⚙️ anyone
i feel like the worst purple belt in the world rn
Nothing to be ashamed of, losing by 1 advantage to the world champion.
It almost feels like anybody winning consistently at any elite coloured belt level could win the final of any of the other colour belt divisions. Theres barely a distinction visually between the games of blue belt world champs and brown belt world champs. When a 17 year old blue belt finalist has been competing for a decade it all feels like a moot point. Beautiful to watch though.
At the finals level yeah, anyone can slide in anywhere.
He probably beats most black belts.
its fine, he still had ADCC to win lol.
If that guy won the worlds at purple last year than he shouldn't really be there anymore.
I’m just here to listen to insecure upper belts complain about how a 17 year old kid is sandbagging and should be a black belt 😊
No way he pulled guard and still lost robbed
what i see here is he lack a stand up game, he has no confidence with any form of judo. he has a lot of holes in his game. he needed 1 take down to go to the finals and couldnt do a simple sacrifice throw
Pumped up ego, 'thought he should have gone further.' Beat by a no-name, more or less. He's not as much of a prodigy as Tainan.
I feel a little dumber having read your comment.
beat by a noname? the guy won worlds at purple last year and Cole lost by one advantage you clown
He beat ADCC West Coast Trials winner Keith Krikorian in the East Coast Trials finals. 16 year old vs 25 year old.
