In Minnesota we say we live in "the cities." Or upnorth. Or "about an hour from the cities." Or "first-ring suburb, second-ring suburb. The real Minnesota thing I already mentioned, we measure distance with time. Right now I live 15 minutes from one daughter and 50 minutes from the other. Love your channel!❤ And I loved that you were in Minnesota. I love it here and I've been here all my life.

As a born & raised proud MinnesOtan, this is SOOO true!!! ❤ I work in “the cities” but always share with others, I was born & lived my whole life in a beautiful small river town on the Mississippi just “30 minutes” south. I am “5 minutes” from our oldest daughter & youngest daughter has a “0 minute commute” living in our downstairs apartment. 😂 I’ve been very blessed to travel almost all of the US…As each year passes creating new memories, I have more & more appreciation for our quiet & hidden gem of such a special place filled with the natural wonder of beauty.

Marc’s curiosity about how Minnesotans identify where we live. City folk, Minneapolis, all live in “The Cities” short for Twin Cities. Other geographical locations are…Up North western Mn or southern Mn. The finger point I think you are speaking of is called The Arrowhead. The wedge from Duluth up to Canada creating a triangle resembling an arrowhead.

Duluthian here. Usually Minnesotans generally say they are "X hours from (nearest major city). Such as "oh yea, I'm from McGregor, which is about an hour west of Duluth." (and that's an elongated/emphasized "o.") Glad you were able to check out our area. June isn't the best time, because the weather (which the Lake helps create) can change by the roll of the dice. And by dice, I mean which way the wind is blowing that hour. You should come back in late July/early August if you want the best weather. OR if you're winter fans, Duluth is hosting the Curling Nationals the first week in February. Also, Bentlyville's tour of lights during the holidays is a lot of fun as well. Cheers!

I was born in Two Harbors and raised in Duluth. I'm now just across the border in Superior, WI. I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip! Man, you barely scratched the surface of the North Shore. All of the state parks and towns along the shore up to the Canadian border are amazing. Tettegouche SP, Cascade River SP, Crosby Manitou SP, Judge CR Magney SP, Grand Marais, Schroeder, Lutsen and Grand Portage National Monument. A bit inland, and you've got the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness: over 1 million acres of lakes and woods. There are even a couple of spots on the edge of the Wilderness where you can base camp out of the Airstream and rent kevlar canoes to make day trips into the lakes! The fishing is second to none, and the scenic solitude is unlike anything else. I'm glad you made it to the Apostle Islands, too! This lake is magical and I wouldn't rather live anywhere but here. If/when you come back and want tips or tours, let me know.

The hunger games comment seriously cracked me up! 😆 I'm from MN and Lake Superior and the north shore are my favorite spots in the state by far. Thanks for sharing this video, it was super fun to watch. I'm trying that pie next time we stop at Betty's Pies!

Watching the fireworks over the lake in Duluth is something you should put on your bucket list. Amazing!! Find a high spot on the rocks in town to watch and enjoy!!
Also stop by the Kaffe Stuga in Harris Minnesota for some truly homemade dinner!! Ask for Missy :)

I wish I would have known you were in the Duluth area, I would have loved to have met you. I grew up and still live in Duluth. The places you showed I have been to many times and I camp in the national forest campgrounds in Northern Minnesota frequently. There are many more interesting places for you to see in our area. I do hope you return at some point.

It's awesome to see my home state finally getting some praise. We went to Duluth for fireworks this forth of July but make it a tradition to head up north, hit Tobies bakery, Betty's pies, and as much of the north shore drive we can do. Glad to see you guys exploring Mn. When it's not -20 degrees Minnesota is amazing. Make sure you come back in the fall!

I enjoy your channel started watching 2020. I bought a keystone Laredo, fifth wheel. I didn’t plan to buy as big, but my mom liked the extra bathroom. I was able to take her to many national parks that she wanted to see and I learned when you had your Ginger RVs I’ve been watching ever since I was sad that my mom passed away in 2023 but so blessed that we could spend all that time together. Thank you for all your help your tips and information. I like your truck modification videos but I must admit I like when you’re just traveling enjoying yourself with your friends or family. one of your fellow RUclipsrs creative RV Robin? I think she was in Colorado and got like ping-pong ball hail in her little bambino airstream. Be safe when you travels thank you for all the love and positive energy you guys spread.🙏🏼❤️🤙🏼

Our Summer to Remember has turned into a summer we will never forget... we decided to sell our 1/4 interest in our cabin (park model RV), expected it to take up go a year to sell, but it went from listed to sold in less than two months, we spent last week as our final hurrah, brought home all of our personal items. In the meantime, we decided to downsize our home, so we're packing up all the non-essential stuff and the listing should go live in ten days. We've been looking at houses to find the gem that will make sense for our eventual retirement. Selling the cabin is bittersweet, we have been going up for almost ten years, but we also realize that selling it is the gateway to new adventures. We did a yurt camping trip already and will probably rent a few RV's to narrow down our next choice.
Amazing area to visit in Oregon is the Metolius River. Lots of National Forest campgrounds, a fly fishing paradise (catch and release only), some RV Resorts in Camp Sherman, golf nearby at Black Butte Ranch, the amazing western-themed town of Sisters, Oregon, and a wonderful loop drive partway down the McKenzie River, then up over McKenzie Pass to Sisters.

Up at Split Rock there is a new campground call Shipwreck campground. When you pulled in to Split Rock light house the road for the campground is under Hwy 61. Level and electric. No place to fill your tanks need to go to Goose Berry campground. Need to reserve early because it is always full.
