For anyone looking to upgrade these now older systems, be aware that the DVD drive can completely slide out and out of the way. Disconnect the power/data in the back of it, and flip the black lever. Then slide it out the front. Then remove your front plate. No broken drive cover. I imagine HP designed this to discourage people from tinkering with the system, or something.

HP has a customized version of Pavilion. Buy what you need for a year or two and don't do any upgrades in the future.

I think it comes with McCafe so try and get rid of that. And maybe wipe the computer if you think that is needed.
