Its funny think people have preconception with marvel legends just because shf, mafex have more articulation, but in my opinion, marvel legends have more quality and sometimes more accuracy than others, for example, the 2020 spider man, THAT TORSO ARTICULATION IS AMAZING, LOOK AT THAT LEGS, ITS PERFECT, the guys who have precondition with marvel legends r dumb, cause in some years later, the figures that costs 20 dollars, will be 100 maybe. Let's be a little fair here. It should be noted that the SHF Thanos is only $125 right now because demand had pushed it that high up. Originally, Big Bad Toy Store had it on pre-order for $81.99.
rsuriyop I did mention he can be found for less than that and yeah he might have been 80 bucks for preorder but the popular Figuarts figures rarely drob back to the original price.

In my opinion, it is EXTREMELY rare for a Legends figure to be better than a Figuarts one. From what I've seen of this (still don't have it quite yet) this happens to be one of those rare cases.
I think this new 3 pack Thanos is the best Thanos out there. ShF is very nice but I have to give this one to the legends version.

I agree I also went with legends on my other infinity war figs, only one worth the $ to me is that iron man mk 50 with all the nano accessories that just went up.

Thanks for this comparison. It shouldn't be a discussion, but the fact it is, means Marvel Legends wins this. If I'm paying double it should be a night/day comparison but literally the only thing the SHF has over the ML is articulation and accessories. I'm a Select and Mezco collector more than ML but I'll be purchasing the 3 Pack Thanos to add to my collection. Hasbro have really been stepping up their game recently. Take a look at their new White Ranger from their Power Rangers line for further proof.

That's whats up. I don't have much room, so I limit my collection to Select X-Men, Spider-Man and MCU figures. However the Disney Store exclusive Thanos, in my eyes, because of rich details and paint apps, can pass for an armoured MCU version, so he was the one I went with. The old school Kirby version is great though, just falls down to which look you prefer. But now the ML Thanos has improved, I may sell my Select for that one lol

I'm not lying, the ML has better sculpt details, paint apps, scale, looks closer to the source material and is the better bang for buck. Only thing that's better about the SHF is articulation and accessories. Stop me when you hear a lie.

If it's more laborious and expensive figure to produce, shouldn't I naturally expect the quality to be better than a cheaper, mass marketed product? Especially when the majority of their products are of a higher quality than the US ML counterparts, MK50, Iron Spider, Black Widow etc....?
Well to be fair, i think SHF already went Gold with this Fig, right before the movie came out. and since its set to release on June, they dont have enough time to correct the details.
ML is notorious for re-release, so they always have the chance to correct theirs.

Your talking about third party sellers selling the SH version vs. retail sellers. I paid $65, even though I preordered it when was first announced from one of my Japanese retailers. But good comparison. I 100% like the color of the ML gauntlet over the SH, but like what SH did to the stones compared to a little paint.

Unparalleled Universe yeah, I ended up getting just about all of them from over seas for great prices. I didn't buy the starlord or dr strange (though I wish I would have gotten the strange figure... too pricey now). I think BBTS was selling thanos for around 80.

That Marvel Legends Thanos is much better than Build a figure. I would go with high Quality Collectable because of the significance of the character. I have build a figure and SH one.

Isn’t it kind of weird that the figurearts Thanos comes with a snapping hand for his wright arm but not for the actual gauntlet.

Dope comparison btw the Shf looks like the none battle version while the Legends One looks like the battle damage one but the legends one does look more movie accurate but I still get a feeling Mezco might reveal their version soon & again awesome comparison.

If the shf had the paint apps from the legends it would look perfect but still, having it in hand, with the movie inaccuracies and all it’s still amazing.
Legends proportions still look weird to me.

Nothing beats the select comic thanos, with death. But here, the legends destroys the figuarts, the proportions are better, wtf is the coloring for the figuarts, looks like a cartoon, and the collar on the figuarts looks bad

Good god, the Legends one is the winner hands down! The only things better with the Figuarts one is the individual translucent gemstone pieces, more accessories and better articulation.

They are both actually accurate. The old one resembles GOTG Thanos while the new one resembles Infinity War onwards

The lower torso do look skinny on the SHF but on the Legends looks way too wide so it looks kinda fat to me

Ive never seen these side bu side and i gotta say im glad im getting this Legends 3 pack this week! Im gonne repaint the eyes to look more like the SH version and do some detail work on the teeth maybe and its gonna be a BEAST!!! Great video

yep exactly, and also you could paint the skincolour of the baf thanos, like this awesome new one, and wola, you have 3 heads for this aswell, like the figuarts, i think the sculpt for the baf one is good, the paint was just littel off.

I think the Marvel Legends is definitely the better figure overall. Especially for the value. The Marvel Legends Thanos has the more accurate skin tone based on what we get in the movie and the sculpting detail on Thanos's body is way better. Also, I like the fact that the Marvel Legends Thanos has a bulkier and much more intimidating build as you alluded to during your review. I also think that the Doctor Strange figure is fantastic and didn't have any Doctor Strange figures before I picked up this set. Yeah the Iron Man figure should have way better. I wish it would have came with some interchangeable parts instead of a stupid light up gimmick but oh well. I didn't have that figure either until I picked up this nor did I have the Thanos build a figure which sucks compared to this updated Thanos. As always great comparison.
I agree, I bought all legends, except I pre-ordered the new mk 50 figuarts bc the legends ironman is the only one I didn't get into.
Yeah the marvel legends Iron Man Mark 50 is trash. Instead of a stupid light up gimmick they could have included a set of interchangeable accessories since his suit morphed into so many different weapons (swords, blasters, etc.) He had so many different tools such as the gauntlet restraint he used in his fight against Thanos and they didn't include any of those things. My only gripe with the S.H. Figuarts is that it is too small. It only scales well with other S.H. Figuarts figures. So if you are ok with that then I think it's a good purchase. I personally don't collect Marvel S.H. Figuarts figures.
I have both & I freaking love them equally! For the price point, Legends win. Figuarts definitely have much better head sculpts but the lack of movie accurate details on his costume is a bummer. I do wish that the 3 pack Thanos also included a fist gauntlet because the paint on the BAF version doesn’t match. Another gripe for the Legend Thanos is not having double jointed elbows. Hasbro needs to include that on their BAF. For durability, Legends always wins because it’s a mass market toys, while imports are more lighter. Another plus for the Legend version is that you can use the heads on the recent Select Thanos & it looks pretty good. Once again I love both version(I did pay $110 for Figuarts, wish it was cheaper). I was really hoping for a Mezco Thanos, hopefully they do one in the future. I wish they focused on Infinity War instead of Justice League, which was just garbage.
Mizthegr8 JL is really good but infinity war is better.It’s a good movie, don’t bitch about Superman’s cgi because that’s not even noticeable, and it all comes together perfectly, so yes I do think it is better than any avengers film except infinity war, I think I like infinity war more due to certain aspects like thanos, stark which I have never liked in the comics, and many other things. JL was missing gl so that lowered the score but it is still a great film
rei king gaming and lego productions First of all, I don’t want to start any argument. I’m a fan of both brands, if something sucks at Marvel movies, I speak my mind about it. Same goes for DC & everything else. Justice League felt like a straight to dvd/digital movie for me. Steppenwolf felt like a cheesy sci-fi channel villain, absolutely no depth or charisma. Aquabro is there just for eye candy, Flash is meh, Affleck did a badass job in BvS, here he just felt tired & phoned in his performance. Diana was basically a chaperone & lacked any gravity that she had in her solo movie. Superman’s awkward scenes with Louis(whether it’s reshoot or prior) were awful. The whole movie had nonstop CG like Infinity War, except it sucked in Justice League & I’m not counting Sup’s awful face. If this movie was so great like you think, you don’t think it would’ve been more accepted by more fans & critics. People & fans would’ve gone seen this movie over & over because it’s so great according to you. I wish this movie was as good as the first Avengers, except it’s not by a long shot. Maybe Whedon really messed up or maybe Snyder’s version was even worse but the theatrical version was as awful & cringeworthy as Suicide Squad. I liked & enjoyed Man of Steel, BvS(Ultimate Edition only) & Wonder Woman. I’m praying that the future DCEU movies improve from the mistakes it has made so far because us fans deserves better.

Better scaling on sh figurarts for sure, hulk is a bit bigger than thanos. For the legends, thanos is a bit taller than hulk which should not be right

I'm glad I bought the legends, I saved so much $....I get the price of mezco but I have a hard time getting figuarts, especially since Hasbro is so cheap and stepped up their game.

I've ordered the Marvel Legends 10th Anniversary. I would have been on the fence, but that Dr. Strange really sold it to me. I mean, it is, without doubt, the best looking 1/12th scale Dr. Strange, by miles. So had to get it really. One thing's for sure, if my Thanos looks like yours does, then I will have to very carefully scrape that horrible black eyeliner off. Don't know what Hasbro were thinking putting that thick eyeliner on. Or any eyeliner at all really. Haven't they seen the movie, or even stills of Thanos? In what reality does he have eyeliner?!

The marvel legends one is to...big in my opinion. And yes, its more movie - ish, but the figuarts has more features (neck accessory, *very* short sleeves, ect.)

That marvel legends 3 pack is going to go up in price a lot over the next few months as it becomes harder to find. Right now it’s available all over for $70 so i would pick it up soon if your a collector.
The legends is worse imo because the chest is really box like and not like an actual chest.

One problem i have with the marvel legends one is that the arm with the infinite gauntlet is incredibly loose so i might plan on getting the figuarts one

i have to give it to legends here. normally shf makes better figures but they didn’t do so well on thanos while legends did. i’m not saying legends doesn’t make good figures in just saying normally shf is the best figure company (all this is opinionated)

Maybe Thanos is dying and in part of that his skin tone changes, and once he realized this he decided to do everything himself, and he had to balance the universe before becoming what is destined, and I think Thor’s hammer pushed him closer to it

You shouldn't compare retail price of one figure to one of Amazon's 3rd Party Seller's price. That's basically comparing retail to scalper price.
I was trying to base it on what the price is now because chances are you won't find the SH Thanos for retail price right now.
On the Marvel legends one the skin color is purple and the color SHF one it looks like lilac purple

Nice review of a figure which I didn't know about, only thing I'd like to see, some stills at the end to compare the Marvel Legends with the SHF Hulk and Cap, so we can see how well these work together if people want to mix up their display.
I can maybe do some of that, I just didn't really think it was fair to judge a figure based on how he scales with other lines.. You know?

Yeah that one looks great. They did a good job with the skin.
The only problem with the Legends version (beside the single articulation in the elbows) is the torso, it's too wide and thick, making Thanos look bulkier (even fat) and changing the proportions of the character.
I’ll be honest I’d probably give it to the ML figure....Though I kinda really like the Figurarts one(I.m kinda ok with the paint...)just a few tweaks for the articulation and LOWER THE PRICE(though to be fair it was lower before..)

Just off the top of my 40 year old head, I think Thanos is/has been listed as 6' 6". Definitely noticeably smaller than Hulk. I mean, I know artists will draw characters like that way huger than their official stats..but Hulk has always dwarfed Thanos.
Im still waiting for a GOOD Marvel legends iron man figure (the 2-pack tony stark and the mark I is good, but im talking about the original suit we all know)
Yeah Hasbro doesn't make the best Iron Man figures. You'll need to look to Figuarts for that.

Great comparison! I can't believe it, but overall i would have to go with ML on this one too. SHF does some aspects better, as you pointed out, but looks too cartoonish and the proportions are off.

Honestly I give it to figuarts, paint apps aside legends thanos looks like a Minecraft character, I think the figuarts has better sizing and more hands and faces, plus articulation, the legends thanos is great for the price but overall I do prefer figuarts
