My first RUclips video to reach one million views! Yay!
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
BTW, what model power hammer is that?
I recently missed out on buying a used Sahinler out of someplace in Texas, so I'm still looking. Are you happy with yours?
It's a Bullhammer 75 - but they went out of business. I think the original owner reformed as PhoenixHammer.
Well done, you sure beat the hell out of me,,,,,hahah
I take it you must lose a lot of iron.
I like to comeback to this movie from time to time. Respect !
Your work is pretty good yourself mate
Trollskyy your knife is great too, i cant wait to see your new knife after forge in fire
obviously a man who takes pride in his work. Never knew it took so much effort and hours to create a daily household item. I am very humbled by his dedication and craftsmanship.
Nice video! I'm a fellow bladesmith who's spent far too long out of his shop. This was an interesting project for a knife style I hadn't seen before.
Makes me want to clear a path through the snow and fire up my forge!
Great work!
Knife? That's thing's almost a freaking SWORD! Excellent craftsmanship and a truly entertaining and informative video. Cheers!
I am not into knives or blades collecting nor in forging anything but I liked your video, it was really interesting and hypnotising.
Thx
I inherited a knife like this from my grandmother. So far I looked at it as some fancy antique thing, but after watching this video, I see how much time & craftmanship went into the piece and my respect for it increased.
I admire your dedication to preserving the skills of all of our ancestors while others rely solely on cheap technology. Keep doing what you do :)
Love how it goes from rock and roll to Pachabel
Haha A marriage happened between two bars; it was Pachabel or nothing.
8:58 if you pause it right there the blue fire looks like a ballsack
That's great
interresting ..
Vincent Imbeault WTF YOUR NAME IS VINCENT AND MY NAME IS VINCENT
+vincent pauwels Wow person with same firstname
hey vincent
I've always been held in awe by blacksmithing. It's practical art, if I ever get crazy stupid rich my house will be filled only with craftsman-made everything!
Thanks for taking the time to help me Niels. I will keep you posted - Tim
Absolutely fascinating. I wish there is a longer shot at the finished knife at the end so we can take a better look at it.
welcome to us! give tips for beginners! as a skilled blacksmith!
Bart Liu.. You can stop the video at 16:16 There is a good spot so you can see the knife
Beautiful knife.
Very nice equipment and machinery.
Bravo
Great video. As i've now been a Chef for more than 20 years, you'll understand why I love those beautiful knives.
great job. Greets from France !
I needed to watch this video 3 times to believe what i just saw !
Unbelievable talent and precision of work. The knife is extremely well shaped. The final result is magnificent, clean. Not a single detail is missed. It is simply a piece of art.
Well done artist. You made me proud as an Iranian. Thank you
Niels, my compliments ! What a beautiful piece of art !!!!

Excellent knife and handcraftship. The video is nicely made as well. Keep on creating great stuff like this!!!
i'm a knife collector, and although i don't make my own knives, i enjoyed watching this video, great camera work, calm professional voice, and exact instruction, brilliant.
i don't know why, but watching video about making a knife is fucking interesting :3
Great to see there there still proper crafstmen out there , Great video BTW ....
Lot of work for 1 knife. Bet they're expensive.
I'm going into blacksmithing and watching some of your videos will help me with getting Forge-welding done correctly.
I am glad to see there is a thriving appreciation for arabic blades.and thank for this "blueprint" of a video.it will help much with my projects in the future.
Great vid, but are you kidding with the reveal shot at the end? We all watched that so we could gaze at the finished product and whip it's gone. I had to go back and pause!. Anyways, again, nice vid.

For those of you who want to see how the kabab barg knife is used in iran; ruclips.net/video/pYBlba8uNys/видео.html
This form of kabab is very traditional and the knife likewise. Its traditionally made from lamb but beef is just as common.
I dont know how I almost fell asleep watching this, apparently watching a man craft a knife is incredibly soothing for me :3
While I don't understand the reason for what you do in all steps, I do appreciate your craftsmanship. I am a woodworker. And I think our craft has many similarities.
Thank you for sharing!
Man, that was one of the best video on youtube! Thank you for it.
Please tell me, what's the price for a knife like that?
And, do you make custom knifes?
Thank you!
Francisc, this is a weekend activity for me and I don't usually do any commissions.
Niels Provos Ok man, thanks. If you decide to sell them or custom made, you'll earn big buks. your projects are awesome!

I have a sudden urge to buy a handmade Kabab burg knife
I appreciate the style of video presentation - a very good work of combining the audio with no unpleasantness or domination. Lovely smithy work and a great, clean, tidy and seemingly well provisioned workplace. Sie geniessen es sehe ich - ein liebes werk.
This video is art, a fine understanding of craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing this.
What forms at 8.04 i have rewound several times and do not know wtf you are saying!
Check the subtitles? Martensite might be the word you were not catching.
Thanks.
Can I buy this off you? It took you 16 minutes so I will pay £16
lol thats funny
Hey, this dis your employer here. We've revised all employee paychecks and have concluded that since you only work 9 hours a day we will pay you £9
cesarpondarkorbit I was clearly joking, but in all seriousness I would happily take £1 a minute at work.
Bunters196 lol i know
Bunters196 it took him 20 hours
This was one of the nicest videos on making a knife that I have ever watched.
I would have never thought there are so many stages in the production of a knife. Beautiful work
yeah but how quick can you cook a hotpocket or bag of pizza rolls in that oven? Thats what i wanna know....
In 1 minute until they become pizza coals.
I would really love to have this job or one involving making weapons lol
Nice to see true craftsmanship is still alive. Keep it up!
Aside from the actual forging and the amazing commentary, the classy music is my favorite.
12:10 made me cringe, what if he slipped o_o
He wears a thick almost impenetrable leather apron.
kabab eaten long before the knife is finished :-p
Thank for you for taking the time to put everything together. Professionally showcased.
Totally a restful zen experience watching you make this.
kabab barg is 100% Persian .and thank you for this video.
Always good to watch craftsmen doing great work. Thanks
Such incredible time and care put into something that is so often taken for granted. Amazing video!!
Dear Guys! Congradulations... This is a priceless, sophisticated labor! Just amazing.
Great work! The structure and finish of the blade is impeccable. Kudos!
Fantástico! Você sabe o que está fazendo e evoluindo!
Congratulations brow! You know what you are doing and are increasing the quality.
Very nice. I love that you have quality in not just your work, but in your materials, your equipment, and your video. Great job on a great knife and video.
lovely knife, a lot of effort goes in to make things with steel, its art in my eyes
Congratulations for this wonderful video. That knife is a piece of art by itself.
You are a person loaded with talent. Thanks
This is not just a knife or a tool man, this is an art piece. I've used a disk sanding machine before as a student for a project, and its really difficult to control and keep what's in your hand. It will always fly out of your hand due to the high speed of the disk and friction. Furthermore they're holding sharp pieces.
The process of making it, the time spent, the details, makes it worthy to be called an art. =)
Wonderful craftsmanship. I had no idea so much work goes into a knife. Great video.
Such beautiful devotion to a trade seemingly lost. Great work.
loved how you showed all of the steps in full most videos just show you the ending of the step bravo.
Wow... This is one of the most interesting and stimulating videos I have ever watched! These arts of man are a dying breed...
Not at all, there are many amateur blacksmiths out there, and videos like this help to inspire others to take up the art.
Watching you sharpen that blade at the end was just beautiful
I ate Kabab Barg all my life and never knew a knife is named after it. However this is an awesome video and true workmanship.
It's so rare to see well-edited videos about blacksmithing (or anything for that matter). I must have spent four hours watching your videos (this video and 'the serpent in the sword' are my favorite). Keep it up! =D
You are a true artist and craftsman!
Nice work!
It's amazing how much time and effort you put into crafting it, start to finish.
From an iron bar to an amazing knife, great skills!
A beautiful knife, brilliant workmanship and a very good video too.
Pure art!, well forged blade. This gave me some inspiration of how to make a handle, looks very well!
omg. I think i fell in love with that knife and the art of making it....
Crystal clear and right to the point ! ! !
Thanks for a great video.

That is a beautiful work of craftsmanship. Watching this makes me want to learn how to work with metal myself.
you are a master, an example for everybody
This i a piece of art. You can be proud of yourself. Greetings from Germany.
I've got a Burr King similar to yours, its mounted to its own pedestal stand and the variable speed controller is mounted on top of the motor. Its a great grinder.
I've never seen bolster the way you do. Very good job!
You Sir are a master. Mr. Neils Provos I will ride with you in any battle.
Outstanding work of art, well done!

Sir, you are a true Craftsman.
Nice video. I like the idea of drifting the slot for the bolster. I'm going to do that for my next knife.
This was amazing during my high, thank you sir.
that is a beautiful knife, amazing work
What a beautiful blade! Wish I had access to a workshop like yours, I have a genuine interest in metalworking
love the music not overpowering like some videos, also very relaxing
beautiful to watch.. makes me want to do this as well. A true master craftsman at work. You can feel the spirit/soul being forged into the knife as well. Would love to see you form Japanese steel (Katana). Well done and I would love to buy one of your beautiful blades.
