I bought this for my neighbour a few years ago when she was complaining about my cat going in her yard. I bought her this sprinkler and she was so happy that it chased away every cat and raccoon in the neighbourhood, now she gives me Christmas cards every year.
This works awesome for Herons. We lost 8 koi fish the summer before last. Since started using this, haven't lost another. I would highly recommend.
Bought one in 2007. Works well still but I don't need to use if often. A good idea is to adjust the water flow to just a trickle. I just a minute of two it will pressurize the hose to full pressure and that will be enough for one or two sweeps before it has to refill. That way, if a hose breaks overnight you are not running up a huge water bill and wasting lots of water.
Have been running two of these for a couple of years to protect chickens at night, and stop cats shitting on my garden, yes they work far better then other methods, they do work really well, and when switched off they are still a deterrent as the cats see it and remember what happened before, the only problem is when I forget to remind the lady that it’s switched on- she’s not pleased to get a soaking when she wanders up the garden lol
I use these. I own 3. They are worth their weight in gold!
Can you use it as a regular sprinkler as well?
I think I'll get one for my neighbor that likes to park in front of my house 😜.

I have two, they work well. Only problem is that the spike is plastic and I cracked one. I had the needed stuff to fix it, some people might not.
Thinking of getting, my neighbour has put a large trampoline next to my wall, the children are able to see into my kitchen, need it to spray on them.
If it's a hot day, they may enjoy it tho.
I was so pleased with mine I bought one for my parents. Their problem cat is more of a challenge as it’s like a game of chess atm. Only complaint is the false activations when facing strong sunlight. I tend to switch it off until sun passes.

Dogs and cats keep pooping on my lawn. This sprinkler is awesome to stop that!
So: will this shoot straight ahead without moving left or right? I want to place it next to my lanai so that coyotes cannot come up near my lanai and I can leave my cats out on the screened area. But I need it to shoot forward only and not into lanai where my cats would be?

Since its motion activated, how far from the unit wil the motion be activated. Does the animal have to be up close to the unit. will it activate 10 feet away, 20 feet away etc.
will the water pressure from a barrel be sufficient to make the equipment spray efffectively ?.
do you need to turn on the water hose at all times to have this device to work? wouldn't that risk the faucet to flood due to the build-up pressure? thanks for helping.

Yes you have to turn the water on otherwise its useless without the water. And no there's no risk of flooding since the item is designed to handle mains water pressure,.

Any insight on how much water pressure a device like this requires? I would like to rig a solar powered motion sensor sprinkler unit on our swim raft to keep geese away. Since it's a public lake, it wouldn't be wise to run a hose out there- wondering if a hose attached to an elevated 5-gallon pail would create enough pressure. The birds are only out there at night, so I'm sure one or two blasts of the sprinkler would shoo them off.
Probably use a 12 volt pump with automatic pressure shutoff with hose to bucket.
When sprinkler activates, pressure turns on 12 volt pump sucking water from bucket👍

OK video but as others have mentioned you didn't get specific enough on whether the spray can be adjusted for width or rotation.
I wish it had a remote control system. Just to stop it while you go to the garden. You don't want to get soaked, you know.

Yes you can, just use the black dial at the very top, turn it to min direction as required.
Hi, got a really big cat problem in my garden, they keep dinging up the soil and pissing were im trying to grow a garden for my mum :( . Finally i decided to get this.. My hose pipe is next to the house not the garden. So the garden hose has to go over a ledge to be in the garden (maybe 2 to 3 feet down). Will it stay in place with the spike?
and is it safe to leave the water of the hose pipe on? Please help :(

You could always pound a stake into the ground then zip tie the sprinkler to the steak.

Yes. Water isn't used if nothing is being sprayed so no worries.
You should post it in action deterring the animals, day and night. It's kind of worthless without the video.

So really the only con is the possibility of 'friendly fire' or 'water' if you have outside pets like dogs.

Such a disappointment. Bought 3 of these especially for the evening, so I turn it off during the day. Coming at night and turn it on, they don't work at all, turn the hose off and on and nothing. The only thing that seems to getting them to work back again is to taking of the hose connections on the scarecrow which can be a bitch to be putting it and out again. It is a good product in terms of sensing and shooting water but as I said it doesn't work after turning it off and on again. Any fixing to this problem? or is it that the ones I bought are not the real scarecrow? because I notice some elements are different to the one shown in this video. Oh well, just save up some more to try the Orbit62100.
Seems like it needs to be pressureless to go "off". When you turn off the faucet and there's no leak, then the pressure will still be "on" in the hose. Try releasing the hose on the "house" side instead. Or buy an extension coupling with a leak valve and put the scarecrow on a 1m hose to that coupling.

Poorly made piece of garbage. The bottom anchor which is supposed to screw into the main unit won't go on since the threads don't match up. If it doesn't screw on all the way, the water comes out the bottom. Great, now I can spend the next few weeks on the phone trying to get replacement pieces. (While my flowers are being eaten by rabbits...)
