Greetings "Calaveras",
In this episode we go to Ellington, CT, for our 5K service. And you know what this means, getting our bikes serviced is the perfect chance for us to do a test ride, thanks to our friends at Old School Harley Davidson. It is getting trickier because we have tried most of their inventory :) but on this sunny Saturday we try the one and only Fatboy. An iconic motorcycle not just because it has been in production for over 30 years but also because it is part of America’s pop culture thanks to 1992 Terminator II. Still a Softail but with a bigger engine (and a bigger tire!) this bike fits us like a glove, seems tailored to be honest so who knows… we may have a winner for whenever we retire our beloved softies. No major routes, about 30 miles in the area surrounding the dealership but yet, we managed to stop by Lego for some pictures with Lightning McQueen and a huge Mr. Potato Head (check us out on Instagram). Don’t blink or you will miss it!

That’s awesome I’m located in Sunbury next to Farrow Harley Davidson. I would love to ride with you guys there’s some really nice roads. I enjoy your videos because there honest reviews and I am debating on trading in my 22 street glide special with a 131 for a new Road glide 3 wheeler. My wife won’t ride with me on my street glide so maybe on 3 wheels lol. I am currently watching all your videos one after another as I type this too. Keep them coming.

@@USAonHarley that is perfect and I ride in Marion all the time. It’s a really small world when you stop to think about it. Motorcycles definitely bring people together and create life long friendships. Let’s keep in touch and we can meet up and ride and get Lunch or something depending on your time frame. Thank you again awesome to see a couple riding together like you guys. Now I have to get my wife to ride with me lol. Not sure that will ever happen though lol.

I think it’s hilarious when people claim the solid wheels will catch the wind and push the bike around. Wind is not getting through a spinning wheel, period. Not to mention the rest of the bike is solid, and so is the rider.
Harley makes saddle bags for this bike and they look great. I have them on mine and it’s all factory Harley Davidson parts. I also added cruise control. You could pay for the upgrade when you buy the bike, but it was cheaper to buy the part after the fact, install it myself, and have the computer flashed to activate it when I got my 1000 mile service.
Agreed with the wheels… thanks for the comments. Hope they help to the viewers looking for that bike.
Our negatives points about the saddlebacks and cruise control is that they don’t come “by default”… and we did not go to the accessories to check options. All the saddlebags we have seen “live” installed in other FatBoy didn’t look great…

The rear seat is wide but hard. Good for occasional and short rides. But If you have to ride often with a passenger I would suggest to replace it with an aftermarket one more specific for riding 2up. Hope it helps 🤘🏼😝🤘🏼
you can add cruise control for a reasonable price
We know… but giving the fact that you pay a lot for the bike, and also considering it is one of the most iconic bikes from the brand, we believe it should come with it included… don’t you think?
How do you make that shot from the back at 3:20?
The person in the back seat is holding a selfie stick and using an Insta360 camera. We used the same camera for all the “riding shots”! 😜
So has does it handle the twistees? It’s a beautiful bike that I will own one day.
Well… twisties could be challenging… I don’t see this being the best bike to ride the back of the dragon or the tail of the dragon… she forces you to go “straight “….
Maybe for twisties it’s better to get other Softail.. although the Fat Boy is gorgeous!!

Be firm , put some pressure on the inside hand grip . It handles surprisingly well .
You say it is perfect for your size but you don't say what is your size. Please, what is your size - height, leg inseam, and weight. Thank you.
You are right… sorry! We both measures 5’7” (or 170cm) and weight around 150 pounds (or 68kg). Legs inseam we usually wear size 30/32 for jeans. Hope this helps. 🤘🏼😝🤘🏼
