It's my fault to pan the camera away at 1:22 and this is for everybody who watched this video!

Awesome, thanks! 😄🥃💞
really love and respect u doing this on a 13 year-old video. what u did record was great and it's so incredibly nice to see u respond to the comments with the alternative perspective of the scene.
also this is a note to anyone reading: the link is safe! 😊
Años esperando esto 🤣🤣🤣
I'm pretty sure Ramin has a "cast me with Hadley and/or Sierra" clause in his contract and I don't object in the slightest.
I'm all for it!
It’s sayonara not Sierra.
@@deniseadams1703 Uh...nope. Pretty sure it's Sierra.
I agree 100 percent all 3 of them together is good
*Grantaire raises hand*
me: yes... YES
*camera moves*
me: WHAT THE FFFFFFFF-
Omg ME like WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS!?!?!?!
Check out the replies of some of the other comments about this, I've posted the title of a video that doesn't pan away

I litteraly screamed NOOO
Ramin as usual exudes leading character material but Hadley? He's like the adonis of the musical stage, has never failed to give the audience a deep impression of the character he's playing no matter how short the lines are. Lucky to those who had the chance to watch him play Javert and Ramin as JVJ.
I would have sold body parts to watch Ramin as Valjean and Hadley as Javert.
@Marcella lol! And Im sure you could pass as Fantine bec of this.
Me too! Maybe the 40th Anniversary in America? I’ll wait!
Where and when did Hadley play JVJ?
THE WAY RAMIN LOOKS AT HADLEY ITS LIKE YES, THIS IS THE MAN I NAMED MY SON AFTER, I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN THE EMOTIONS AND HOW WELL THEY CAPTURE ENJOLRAS AND GRANTAIRE UGH IM LOVE
then it switches to nick jonas and i want to cry for different reasons
I totally agree with you, and lolol about Nick Jonas. 🤣 😂 😉 👏 😄 😆 🤣
Hahaha i have the same sentiment!
i know, their relationship just makes me 😭😻😭😻 and also ur completely right about nick jonas, i don’t think he was right for the part honestly in my opinion he ruins the 25th anniversary concert for me. his voice was too squeaky and teenage-popstar-ish 💘 but ramin and hadley as enjolras and grantaire is PERRFFEECCTTT 😻😻
We were at this concert and it was fantastic apart from Nick Jonas. The only reason we could think of for Cameron Mackintosh casting him was to sell tickets to young people but they needn’t have worried it would have sold out four times over without him. How could they give Hadley Fraser a ‘bit part’ with his voice and acting talent, perhaps they thought he was too old for Marius? There were so many top talented young actors ‘ singers in the UK at the time that they could have given the part to. I still can’t work it out. Every time there is an ensemble singing piece in the show like this one it’s great until he joins in and then it’s Cringe time!
@@brianappleby5112 i rlly dont know much about nick jonas, and I think they could've definitelly casted someone better. BUT, i dont think he deserves so much hate here. He sings nice and if i was only listening i don't think I would've thought that that part was weak. Could be better but no need to exaggerate.
Tho i underestand what you say and i completely agree
When will Hadley get recognition for the great voice/actor he is?
Really. Can Hadley just sing all the parts, I'm so in. His voice is everything.
I mean, he could so be les mis all on his own. Let’s face it, he has played Valjean, grantair, Marius and a soldier
Hasse Venken he played javert not valjean
Vincent Pham that’s what I meant lol
So the guy in green with the most stunning Velvet voice???
Do I get to share my number with him????
No part of me understands why the person who filmed this thought 1:22 would be a good time to move away from Ramley.
Because it's others part to sing
@@hanifnada17 But... Hadley and Ramin
@@hanifnada17 but who actually cares about them?
@@CherryBlossom3x3 I do :(
@@friday8644 but, Ramley
Also, I think Grantaire is more afraid of Enjolras dying than to die himself.
Actually.I can't imagine that a heart attack he experienced when he saw Enjolras which he was going to be shot😭
I think thats probably why he chose to die with Enjolras. He could have gotten away but didnt want to live in a world without e
@@Siegfried1917 I think what they mean is that he would have possibly had a chance at survival or escaping, but he chose not to, because he would rather die with Enjolras
Fair guess, not only he loves Enjolras but he doesn't love himself.
Grantaire loves Enjolras (may even be in love with him). He doesn't really believe in the cause, but in the young man leading them. When he pulls away from Enjolras after the line "Could it be your death means nothing at all?" he is all but saying that it will mean everything to him. So even though he has a deeply cynical outer shell, he later chooses to die with his friend, in part so that Enjolras will not have to die alone, and also so that he will not have to live without him. It's incredibly moving to me, far more so than Marius mewling about Cosette five minutes after Eponine has sacrificed her life for him.
I love how 80% of the comments are just people pterodactyl-shrieking at the cameramen
It's my fault and this is for everybody who watched this video!

Ramin is fab, but can we talk about Hadley Fraser more?? Damn he's good.
+pirateswans First time I saw it he actually made me cry. Hadley was that good!
Hadley definitely needs more attention! Nice to meet another fan ;)
+Weronika K And there was me thinking I was the only one who preferred Hadley (although I love Ramin too - and their friendship is just beautiful)
Sarah Woolley
You're definitely not the only one :)
+ReviewCam mind you he totally shone with those few lines as the best singer in the whole movie. I heard people on the way out of the cinema asking who the officer with the moustache was so he certainly made an impact! Put the rest of them (bar Sam, Aaron and the Barricade Boys) to shame anyway!!
Hadley’s voice is so effortlessly powerful.
I must have watched this a hundred times, because I keep hoping the next time the camera won't pan away from the Enjoltaire.
Maybe I'll try or more time...
dropUrPeaches
That is Ramin Karimloo, currently playing Jean Valjean on Broadway. I've seen him and he is AMAZING. I am going to see him in August in his last show. I am so excited....he is so talented and BEAUTIFUL!!
dropUrPeaches you do know that the definition of madness is doing the same thing and expecting different results, right? (jk i've been replaying this vid over and over) :D
THE CHEECK TOUCH! WHY MOVE AWAY FROM THE CHEECK TOUCH AH! 😭
+Misty Molly Right??
+Misty Molly EXACTLY!
I love how Ramin smiles at Hadley and then suddenly becomes serious when he sings: Can it be your fear to die? and how they stare at each other.. soo moving.
I always have a lump in my throat watching this..
Ramin is just awesome :))
There are two types comments:
-those frustrated by Enjolas and Grantaire
-those disappointed in Nick's performance.
But is nobody going to talk about how breathtaking the choir's performance is starting at 1:10 and the violins in the background ?
Agreed. Also..
GRANTAIRE PUT THAT BOTTLE DOWN.
The Ramin/Hadley portrayals of Enjolras/Grantaire was what cemented everything for me. The intensity of their interaction simply takes over the stage (and my attention) - they have so chemistry it's almost electrifying.
The Phantom and Raoul drinking together :D
I thought the same :D
BINCH WHYD U MOVE THE CAMERA WHEN THEY WERE GETTING GAY
Not cool!!
Exactly what I was saying !!! 😓😢
You might not even care about les mis now but I found a version where it doesn't pan away! "Les Miserables 25th - Drink With Me" is the video title, 0:28, sadly there's no kiss but it's still a p cute moment between them
ruclips.net/video/pxLuyFGYfVA/видео.html
Ha! I've always felt Enjolras was far too wrapped up with the ABC to be bothered with romance....And feel Grantaire admires him hugely, but not in a sexual way. It's beautifully done here though.
The best/worst part was when R starts singing and enjolras’s smiling that dopey ass smile, looking towards the others like LOOK HES ENGAGING IN EARNEST IM SO PROUD and then R gets to the second verse and his face just falls. Ramin’s one hell of an actor, crazy subtle for theater without sacrificing emotion
In the official recording, where it shows all of E and R's exchange, it just gives me a lot of feelings. R attempts to leave and is stopped by the man he admires more than anyone else. They get into an argument that we don't hear, neither one of them rejoining the song. Eventually, R stops talking and just puts his hand on the back of E's neck, caressing his face and E just looks at him. They walk off before the song finishes, arms around each other. (Error 404 Heterosexuality Not Found)

i JUST realized that Grantaire (aka hadley fraiser) is Raoul from POTO, it feels so weird yet strangely heartwarming seeing the phantom and raoul standing side by side like that!
They also played valjean and javert together (:
+keanataire and Marius and Enjolras together!!
Cool. Which prod and year?
POTO 25AC 2011. Ramin was the Phantom and Hadley was Raoul.
They are best friends..Ramin named his son after him.
Brb crying. The way Grantaire looks at Enjolras after he sings, ahhhh!
One of my favorite moments in the show is when Granitiere (sp?) sings his part. While a very small role, it is a very important one... the cynic of the bunch, he really sings the truth... what a waste of lives... "Is you life just one more lie?". I hate when that part of the performance is glossed over. I actually liked a lot of the movie (Russell Crowe not withstanding), but hated that they cut that part of the song.
the actual lyric is "Is your life, just one more life" which makes it even more sad when you realize that he's basically talking to Enjolras in particular in a remorseful way
It’s Grantaire but I agree with your comment
He sings this and then he goes and chooses to die at Enjolras' side and I cry my eyes out every time
The best Grantaire ever.
But I can't help but think that Ramin is trying to control Hadley while he sings in case he forgot his lines. Like "I'm standing right behind you, mate! And I have a rifle here. Don't you dare to miss a word!"
Love the look on Ramin's face at 0:36 looking over at the rest of the cast with a smug face as if to say; this is how it's done chaps!! Brilliant!!
I forgot that Nick Jonas was playing Marius in this scene, and it was so disappointing when it came to Marius' part, because I love that part and I was like "aw yas, Marius time" and then Nick Jonas started singing.
Sydney Rutter Im so with you. Marius, well Michael Ball as Marius has some of my favorite parts. Jonas really almost ruined this whole concert. That may be going too far but he DEFINITELY ruined One Day More with his weakness. He just brought the energy way down
J Bo Does it also bother you that at the end of One Day More, Nick is literally the ONLY one who is not looking straight forward? They pan out and everyone else is looking forward and there he is with his head awkwardly/stiffly turned toward the mic and it just bugs the shit out of me every time lol
littlemissprickles I havent noticed, but i do know of the strained face with extended fingers that you are speaking of haha
+littlemissprickles Not forgetting that , for the whole time, he looked up somewhere and show lots of white eyes.
what the fuck is that nick jonas?????????
Ramin Karimloo and Hadley Fraser do eveything together. From this to phantom and raoul to Valjean and javert
I will never forgive the person who filmed this for their absolutely terrible timing with the focus change. I came here to see some Enjoltaire!

WAIT WHAT NO CAMERA MOVE BACK GRAINTAIRE IS CARESSING ENJOLRAS'S FACE NO MOVE BACK BACK BACK!!!!
I FELT THE SAME! I WAS LIKE "NO, HOW DO YOU DARE TO MOVE THE CAMERA???!!!!" SDFKJGDFHGSGFHJDJKL
I think it only looks like that because the camera moved too fast. When you watch it on PBS, Grantaire clasps Enjolras's neck in a brotherly fashion.
Katherine Nguyen Yes my male friends always clasp each other's neck in a brotherly fashion ... LET THE SHIP LIVE
I have to back up what Keladrys said, I have never done that with any of my friends (the males one, I mean), too much intimacy on just one touch. Fuck, watch this gives too much e/R feels.
Katherine Nguyen You're right, he does. But his hand does linger by his face like he's unsure what to do and then he put it on Enjolras' neck/shoulder and it's still a very wonderfully bromantic gesture.

Les Mis has the most beautifully written songs, and even though this is not the most famous one, I think it’s the absolute best. I get chills at so many different parts of the song… especially when Hadley sings, and also when the women come in. This just never gets old!
Absolute bull sh.t!!!

Anna Lee girl, i love nick jonas (also nice reference) but compared to the quality of the other broadway singers, he doesn't measure up
+Bethany okay, I do agree he's not a Broadway singer... But I have to say he does bring some 'innocence' to the character... I mean Marius is suppose to be like a young man who's still in school so...
+Anna Lee (myfangirltopia) true. But that's about all he brings
Biggest casting mistake is casting Ramin and Hadley has secondary characters
ramin shoul be marius at last!
Amber s oddly enough I'm going to disagree with you - this was "a concert performance" so they wanted the best voices they could get especially in the secondary roles - thanks to this concert I was introduced to Les Mis and fell in love with Ramin & Hadley's voices - from here I went to Phantom and then Love Never Dies - so I'm glad they were both cast as they were 🤗
Secondary characters my ass Enjolras and Grantaire are the best characters in the whole fucking show
Highlights how bad Nick Jonas was as Marius too
@@cascharles3838 Eponine as well

Its been five years and I'm still upset about being cut off from enjoltaire
Its been many years and Im still upset about Nick. Sorry for the fans, but the song is so powerful and then....
Lol, I love watching the reactions of the students when Grantaire starts singing caus they go from "hey! Grantaire's finally joining in" to "uh... let's not think about it like that"
Hadley is just beyond amazing. I'd give anything to see him in Les Mis some day, preferably with Ramin as well. Hadley's Javert was insanely good, been listening to the RUclips clips over and over again.
I love, love, love that scene of Enjolras and Grantaire, because in the book it says that he's cynical to his core, he believes in nothing... nothing but Enjolras. The adoration he has for this man is astonishing. He even compares him to Apollo and Achilles and i believe, but I'm not sure, with him as Patroclus? (I'd have to read it again) But yeah, they have something so beautiful. I 100% believe Grantaire at least was in love with Enjolras.

Carmen Barr agree too high for Marius
Actually he's my second favourite, topped only by Eddie Redmayne. Don't argue with me. Everyone's opinion is valid.
Jessie Ravestein consider this. He’s 17. That means not many years of training. Everyone else is a lot older and has had many mire years of training and experience. It’s not like he has never been in stage before. He was Gavroche once upon a time.

In all the versions I have seen over the years I have noticed the singer who plays Grantaire always has an incredible voice.
hadley is superb, he gets the perfect contrast that is grantaire; quick to react with anger to slowly realise his own sorrow. everyone else i've seen play him doesn't quite get his vulnerability like this.
Ramin amd Hadley are just >>>>>
Jaime Muscato's voice is perfect 💖!!
Me: Oh, this is awesome, everyone's sooo gooood!
Also me: *closes tab before Nick Jonas starts singing*
They literally only put Nick in there for the publicity and it's so sad
No he has a musical theatre background. He's played Gavroche, Chip in Beauty and the Beast, and Kurt in Sound of Music all before he's boy band career. Also he was the Marius on West End right before the 25th concert.
His vocal type isn't adequate for Marius, it doesn't hold enough support. If they had casted a Marius based on talent they would probably have not have casted Nick Jonas. They could have casted Andy Mientus, Craig Mather, Chris McCarrell, etc. It's just my opinion though.
I have mentally blocked Nick Jonas from this show so every time I watch it, it's a terrible surprise he's there. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say maybe he's better in a full on performance - this set up is a bit awkward, so maybe he's not used to it - but when he's on stage with Alfie, Ramin, Hadley, etc. …the difference between him and them is glaring.
I almost didn't recognise Ramin but would recognise Hadleys voice anywhere 😍
Hadley and Ramin bless your talent :'))
I read some comments, like the Zaftra's ones, and I copied here what 3neelh was talking about.
"All those words: rights of the people, rights of man, the social
contract, the French Revolution, the Republic, democracy, humanity,
civilization, religion, progress, came very near to signifying
nothing whatever to Grantaire. He smiled at them. Scepticism, that
caries of the intelligence, had not left him a single whole idea.
He lived with irony".
"However, this sceptic had one fanaticism. This fanaticism was
neither a dogma, nor an idea, nor an art, nor a science; it was a
man: Enjolras. Grantaire admired, loved, and venerated Enjolras."
"There are men who seem to be born to be the
reverse, the obverse, the wrong side. They are Pollux, Patrocles,
Nisus, Eudamidas, Ephestion, Pechmeja. They only exist on condition
that they are backed up with another man; their name is a sequel,
and is only written preceded by the conjunction and; and their
existence is not their own; it is the other side of an existence
which is not theirs. Grantaire was one of these men. He was the
obverse of Enjolras.
One might almost say that affinities begin with the letters of
the alphabet. In the series O and P are inseparable. You can, at
will, pronounce O and P or Orestes and Pylades."
As you may see, they are compared to Achiles and Patrocles, Alexander The Great and Ephestion (Hephaistion). Those of the most know "couples" in the history. (You could all the research you want to about them and the other ones, I put those two because they are more known than the others).
Watched this countless times just to look at Ramin! Taped it on the TV tonight so here's to countless more!! xxx
0:52 "Dude, you're spoiling the mood" xD
What I don't get and can't stand is how someone like Hadley fraiser is in the company and Nick Jonas is playing a lead. It just seems wrong
The producers wanted someone who "would bring in the young people". They chose Nick Jonas. (Like the play it self wouldn't be enough to bring them anyway)
Jarod Apple I agree but it should have been just a different Marius. I think Hadley plays Grantaire beautifully and portrays the E/R bromance very well
darkiee69 to be fair everyone in the cast had been in Les Mis before. For example, nick was Gavroche when he was younger. And he’s only 17 in this.

So late to this but I wonder if it was scripted or just the natural reaction of the cast to Hadley singing that people around just looked up and smiled. So beautiful

I still cry because this is so emotionally heartbreaking
I tell u what. Nick jonas has a pretty voice which contrasts very nicely. Like i get he’s not the star of the show & it isn’t traditional musical theatre but it was lovely
he's got a really nice voice but its just so odd seeing him in any sort of period piece. he just has such a 2010s face. its like seeing cardi b in an amish town.
HADLEY FRASER is the best.
I need to watch Les Miserables with Sierra Boggess as Marius, Hadley Fraser as Cossete and Ramin Karimloo as Eponine!
