As an Early Gen Z person (Born 1997) I actually wouldn't have too much of a problem with a social media ban. I mostly use the internet to use reddit (which would obviously be banned under these rules, and I wish people would just go back to using forums anyway), watch youtube (which would still be allowed according to the video; most of my favorite videos were made in the 2008-2012 era), and chat with a bunch of geeks and nerds. If this ban went through, I feel that the internet would be replaced with that underground alternative you highlighted in this documentary. if it meant that more of these early internet beings such as myself would just go and recreate forums, IRC serves, and a video site resembling old youtube I would honestly be pretty satisfied. I have been searching for a decade-old high and if this brought me anywhere close to satisfying it, then I would be so happy. I feel that I don't really have a place to go anymore now that these giant social media companies have destroyed lesser sites by cutting off their user supply.

Heh, Jokes on you, I still use Internet Relay Chat. I'm one of the few Millennials that doesn't use Social Media. I guess we'll see the return of old message boards too. And Personal webpages like on NeoCities.

Truth is that before social media sites the internet was a social media everyone have there own webpage there own handles and more, if you go look up the game Hypno space outlaw that was how the internet used to be like Many things would make a huge comeback like Instant messaging software, forum sites, things will turn back to the 2000s where everyone can make there own webpage and be a Different person on each and ever site
