Put this technology into the i30N chassis/frame instead of the Casper and you'll dominate the electric hatch market segment. i30 - mass produced budget ev, i30N AWD - affordable hot hatch.
@shadowyogi ideally reduce the battery size for the smaller hatch frame. Golf r is 1500kg, elantra n is 1800kg. The BYD Seal is 2200kg. Think it's doable to aim for 1800kg as we get AWD.
@@DANirulableGet an Abarth 500e then, it’s a fun car, but 250km reach in summer is ridiculous. Can’t believe I even considered buying it :) It’s a concept car, the batteries will get eventually smaller, but I wouldn’t touch anything below 600km reach anymore, and that’s even just 400km or worse in winter. You get 2 rounds on Nürburgring out of an Ionic 5N, no other EV can do it, but that’s just 15 minutes of driving and only 40km!
Oh, and then you need to charge for 80 minutes to get to 100% again. You could do 5 rounds or 100km in that time! I love EVs, but reducing battery capacity is the worse you can do. We are not here yet, maybe in 5 years
@shadowyogi That's true, the technology is not there quite yet for a sports hatch EV from Hyundai, plus it will eat into their Ioniq6N market. But it's getting close. The closest thing right now that we have for a hot hatch is the Cupra Leone VZe which is PHEV. And even that is slower than an I30n. So if Hyundai could make it possible to fit AWD and battery on the i30N they would dominate that market. even if they just introduced AWD on the Elantra N and i30N ICE vehicles they would beat out all budget hot hatches.
It's a commendable attempt, but in reality the 5 n is just not the same as an ice car, the sound is sterile, the artificial shifter is pointless and weird, and the power feels electric...
It'll do till solid-state batteries arrives, 18 mins 10-80% is perfectly acceptable. Although I'm hoping there will be an upgrade to 'solid-state' in 5 years for mine when they warranty runs out on the standard.

An 8 year old ICE chassis/frame for an EV that, despite being just an exoskeleton, still weights 1880kg? What are you smoking?

This was such a badass commercial omg
smaller👏high-performance 👏electric 👏vehicle👏
smaller batteries plus sport mode means negative range
It's the same battery of 5N, but higher density saller. So even longer range. 😊
looks like Hyundai can’t do anything wrong right now well done team
Oh my godd... hyundai.... !!!!!!
You are talking about wrc car but making it electric? WT....
Ohk so platform and direction has shifted now?

Spoken like someone who’s never driven the 5N. Lol
The torque though 😮
Sorry, pure electric is not it.

sieht sooooo beschissen aus
You mean your comment? 😂
