Wow Brian!!! Cannot wait to see the veggie garden come full circle! My property has plenty of natural water on it that a rain water collection system would be and answer to alot of my headaches!!! I also watch Kevin from Epic garden so this is right up my alley!! Thank you for all you guys do! Filming takes extra time (2-3x) appreciate that you bring us along! 😊

What an awesome idea! Any produce that can’t be utilized by the people at Aquascape could be donated to a local food bank! 👏👍💖🙋‍♀️🇨🇱

A garden is a great idea, especially a community type garden such as this. Sounds like many people have gardens at home which means extra produce could go to a soup kitchen to help the homeless. Perhaps bringing someone in to teach staff how to can produce would be something else you could do for the team, as canning has not been passed down between families like it used to be.

Be sure to add a composting area. The compost made from this garden can add lots of nutrients to the planters.

Will be interested in seeing how your great and exciting community garden works out. Two 'Organizational Development' questions: 1) To what degree will your employees feel free to pass on working in the garden? 2) If they do pass on putting in the labor, will they feel like they can take any excess produce they haven't put any work into? The garden idea is still great, it is just better to anticipate the community dynamics that will arise. One more question: Will there still be space for Pondimonian students to work in teams to build their 6 foot? 8 foot waterfalls?

So here's a logical extension...Have a "Canning Days". Having grown all the component veggies (Tomatoes, jalapeno, onions, cilantro, garlic, parsley, etc) all summer, have a fall canning day(s) and make salsa and pasta sauce and pickles! Make a party of it...the biggest reason most of us don't can more, is the "ramp-up" - and almost as bad - THE HEAT in the kitchen...y'all could have have a heck of a set up under the big awning!

This will end up being a gathering spot for your employees and their families! Make sure that it is wheelchair accessible, so that everyone can enjoy it. I have to say, considering the amount of area you have, this looks small, both the cottage and the beds. I would build it as big as possible, knowing that you’ll have room to accommodate more people as the interest grows.
Here’s a slogan for you, “there will be no weeding during cocktail hour”

Looks like its going to be a huge veggie garden, be sure to leave enough walkway space between beds to be able to get a cart or wheelbarrow in there.

As you already have the fishies, why don't you make a aquaponic system (for the vegetable garden)? Thanks for the videos!

  • @fourtrianglegeneraltrading3159

Good idea but by knowing the number of employees it looks small.
Better plan would be going for aquaponics system with greenhouse since you are based in Chicago, you can control the temperature, this way you can have harvest year round and get to enjoy source of protein in the form of fish.
