I remember when Greg went back to check on Shaqs pond and he looked over to the new one that was built by someone else, the look on his face said it all. So I’m not surprised ur back to fix the job that another company did. I’m sure Shaq will be so much happier with ur rebuild.

I can’t imagine how much all this hard work costs. And all the materials! All the dirt, rocks and boulders! And the pond lining its huge can’t imagine the liner alone?! Then all the pond features as well?! In Atlanta I bet $250,000 is not that far off! A lot of people live in houses that cost much less than $250,000. And I’m not saying its ridiculous Shaq is spending that much or it’s wasteful spending not even close to what im saying or meaning. Shaq has earned all his money and can and should to spend it how ever he pleases!!
$250,000 is nothing for Shaq! And the first water feature they did 3 years ago, was needed! The front of the house really needed something, big beautiful home and the front yard was so empty, lacking of something that makes the front of the home more inviting and more put together. It looks AWESOME now!
That company does really good work! He has to have some very talented equipment operators and some hard working talented installers and laborers.

Rather than divert the natural spring water away, would of it been possible to move the pond "down stream" of the natural spring and use it to feed the pond? Better? Worse?

How do you deal with burrowing critters like moles and gophers with a flexible pond liner? Is there a problem with them clawing through it or a non issue?
I imagine they would only be a consideration in about the top 2 ft as I haven't encountered runs below 18 inches(depending on your local species of course) What about a double seal of benonite with a liner on top, or bentonite under a layer of concrete/plaster? I have sandy soil so if I get a leak it will drain almost as fast as the hole is wide.

what you could have done (I don't know if you did or not only about a quarter of the way through the video), that being said what you could do, is divert the natural spring to a well and put a pump at the bottom so that if the water level ever drops you could refill it from the well.

I sure wish I could have you take a look at my pond and help me figure out what is going on. My pond was wade in the 1940s or 50s as a source of drinking water for cattle. It is located at 4,000' right on the US/CA border in North Central WA. There are no pond experts anywhere near here. The pond was made from a natural seep located in an adjoining stand of timber at the foot of a hill. The pond was constructed using Bentonite as a liner. The pond holds water well and doesn't leak at all except during the spring when the snow melt is done and a lot of water is flowing through the area under ground. I cannot tell if the dam is actually leaking or if it is just ground water moving through and whether there is anything I can do about it or not. I'm sure you could educate me as to what is actually going on.

I dont quite understand why it needs liners... You mentioned the soil etc .. is it just a local area issue? We dug a large 4 acre pond in ohio. Had 2 to 3 springs. Never went under never that dirty with mud. Always went in overflow pipe. Im curious what made the soil there unsuitable. Especially with clay layer between.
