What Can $100 Trillion Get in Zimbabwe?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 окт 2024
- Did you know that Zimbabwe suffered from the most extreme hyperinflation in history? Yes, this $100 Trillion was a real banknote and it could barely buy you a load of bread a few years ago. I bought this banknote for $100 USD at a flea market, and then I went around Zimbabwe to see how many things I could buy with it! I hope you enjoy this fun budget challenge in one of Africa's greatest nations!
PS -- Does anyone read these descriptions anymore? If you are still with me, comment below which country you are from! I'd love to hear from you :)

Why are you purposefully spreading lies , we haven’t used that money for like 16 years we are not dumb .
Being a Zimbabwean I would have loved it if you visited also places like Victoria Falls, Inyanga and our various National Parks aswell.
Please don’t spread inaccurate information to get views
Plis try to visit Botswana
So happy u visited our country! Hope u enjoyed our beautiful Zimbabwe!
Hello Zimbabwe! With love from Australia ✌️😎🇦🇺
Zimbabwe geographically is very beautiful. Would love to visit.
But on your profile, you're a white gal
Bro really tried giving that shopkeeper a 100 trillion Zimbabwean Dollar note 💀
hhaha, it used to work!
we can watch and understand the video. we don't need your useless comment.
@@MoreTravelsWithDrewBinskyyes! However, as governments do...they recall and invalidate old currency. Then they reset printers 🖨 and create new valid currency. The 100 trillion Zimbabwe currency has been invalidated, and coin shops sell it as a collectors item. You were just a little late to the game. 😂
Everyone still loves a nice USD though. We'll see how long that will last in the USA 🇺🇸 though, before hyperinflation sets in.
@@hrhtreeoflife4815 The USA will start WW3 BEFORE THAT HAPPENS AGAIN

Yey! My favorite $10 challenge! Thanks for this 😊
It's a $100 challenge and it barely lasted him 24 hrs it seems. Times are rough all around if $100 USD lasts barely a day in Zimbabwe. Good video though.

Dude, decades of conflict between Zimbabwe and Zambia? I'm almost 4 decades young, and I haven't heard of any such conflicts in the recent past, not even in the Rhodesian times.
I have been to Zambia and have heard of many conflicts, but not that one. I did some research and found that there was diplomatic conflict, but not armed. Perhaps it is a mistake.
I concur. Zimbabwean here and I have never heard of that “conflict” about to ask my Baba
what do you expect from a guy that believes White Australians are the natives of Australia, doesnt understand how to treat local people in Chad and gets angry just because he was not wearing the proper attire in Brunei.
I was surprised myself maybe there's some local conflicts that we don't know
Stupid guy wants to buy with a currency that last worked in 2009
Conflict? I am a Zambian I have never heard of that conflict with Zimbabwe.
Wondering too coz I come from Zimbabwe

The man the myth the legend! What an awesome video! I dream of one day visiting all of the countries in the world as you have. I left the USA and began my travels in Asia this April! Currently I have been through 3 countries, and I will be vlogging the entire way! Thanks, Drew, for being my inspiration and making me realize that traveling the world and visiting every country is entirely possible.
My brother drew proud of you keep up amazing work God bless❤

From the USA with love.. I really enjoyed watching..
Wait hold on here, why did I buy Bitcoin 10 years ago. I bought some of those notes for $1 each at the same time. You mean I should've been investing in Zimbabwe currency???
Thank you for visiting my country Zimbabwe 🎉🎉
my pleasure!
Proudly Zimbabwean i like your tour guide .thank you for documenting the Vadoma ppl i didnt know they exist. Thank you keep up the good work
I live in Zimbabwe and am curious to know more about this conflict that we have with Zambia.
I was actually shocked if this is Drew. This is incredibly subliminally racist. Maybe its the Gaza war but its shocking how vlogs are trying to show a dark continent but in a way that seems funny and shows the white mans burden
Clearly, I've been living under a rock to not know the decades long conflicts with my neighbour to the south.
We need to take ownership of and rewrite our own history, or the West will expunge it and replace it with lies.
You didnt visit other places like Masvingo and Khami Ruins . The Easten highlands thats is so so beautiful and lastly our Vic falls and the amazing hotels 😢 please please come back please. Zimbabwean are very friendly pple regardless of our economic situation we keep surviving and smilling . Thank you siyabonga tinotenda , twalumba , zikomo . Thank you

that was an amazing video one day can get over million views
Drew our main guy, we wish nothing but love and success
Great video, but I’ve never heared about this “war” between Zimbabwe and Zambia before. Where did you get that information?
Thanks for visiting my homeland! very entertaining
As of today and although 8 of the foreign currencies are still used, Zimbabwe's local currency, the dollar has now been replaced by the Zimbabwean Gold (Zig) since April this year
If I had one of those I'd hold on to it forever. If the economy of Zimbabwe improves even a little bit the proportions would be enough for me to become the richest man alive!
My grandmother is Zimbabwean and she has hundreds of Zimbabwean dollar notes. She has trillions, billions, millions etc. She says she’s keeping them in case they become valuable in the future.
@@User5tg4vfwtbht well I doubt they will but that is awesome, even if their dollar was worth half a us cent that would still be enough money to become one of the richest people alive! Hope she is doing well. I love Zimbabwean culture :D
I remember in 2015 I read a book on "A Hunger Of Books" in Zimbabwe.
Coffee was $2 but all those supplies were only $20? Wow.
Yeah... In the USA, probably at least 100 bucks or so.
Those white cooking pots with the flowers on them, my grandmother bought me a set when I was five in 1985 and I still use them every week. They are really well made and they also work on induction cooktops. My boyfriend is surprised at how low a temperature I can get it to boil rapidly. And the heat is really even.
that's so cool!
Hello Drew,
I've been following you for many years, am a HUGE fan of yours and I'm thrilled that you finally visited my country. Yes, I'm a Zimbo (that's how we refer to ourselves here). However, I need to correct a few misconceptions from your video:
1. There has never been a conflict between Zimbabwe and Zambia, I mean NEVER. In fact, Zimbabwe and Zambia used to be part of the same country during colonial times. It was called the Rhodesian Federation (or Central African Federation (CAF)), and it consisted of present-day Zimbabwe (Southern Rhodesia), Malawi (Nyasaland), and Zambia (Northern Rhodesia) between 1953 and 1963.
2. The 100 trillion Zimbabwe dollar note belongs in a museum; it has been discontinued. Of course, it was printed during the periods of hyperinflation in 2008, but it was never worth US$100 as per your guide. In fact, it was only worth US$0.40.
again thank you for visiting my country
plus no one uses green bar soup to brush their teeth lol
In Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 they can be super extremely powerful rich

I live in West Virginia and I think this vid is awesome
Very interesting video!
it was great watching the video next time please came to cape town in south africa please
Wow Indian rupee & Pound Sterling accepted🔥🔥🔥
Big fan of Drew but being a dual citizen of Zimbabwe and Zambia there r a couple of issues from my side. Firstly that note is not legal tender anymore so for u to say it's equal to $100 is false. 2ndly, those groceries u got for the community, no way that could cost only $20. 3rdly, there is no conflict in Zimbabwe or Zambia so again, false. Otherwise, great content!!
I didn't realise things in Zimbabwe are so expensive
I am so shocked 😮
I love learning about countries, that I get football shirts of.

These poor people being bullied. Shameful.
So Drew, how did you get started with making travel videos and budgeting for travel? I've just started a travel agency in the UK and would love to make travel videos but it's tough getting started and getting clients. Any advice you want to give me?
I remember going to buy tomatoes for 250,000 dollars back in the day
I have 1 one of those notes, 100 million dollars bill it was a tip from a Scottish Daimond merchant while I was working in a beach cafe in palolem beach, Goa.

These guys are eating the sadza like cake with cream on top 😂😂😂
I really love your videos ❤
Thank you so much!
Yea, the reason they have that trait is due to speciation and geographic isolation. The gene pool is very stagnant.
You forgot to include the bribe in the price total !!
That corn like thing you ate is called Sadza but in the rest of Africa it is called Fufu and is made different.
14:02 bro litterally said Tagalog word "Hello po" 😂
Why do people buy these old notes, can someone explain why those Trillion Dollar RBZ notes are being sold to buyers on the street?
WOW all that supplies for only $20? awesome!
100 trilion note? sounds like something from monopoly
come bro South africa capetown Durban and johannesburg we are here somalians are welcom you
The fact that a banknote actually says the word “trillion” on it 😂😂😂😂😂

Hyperinflation is crazy!
Wow, 37 seconds ago. That's cool 😅
thanks for watching!!
How do you always find guides and safe people to go through these countries ?
Many speak English and the shop keeper wanted US currency not the currency of his own country. Very telling.
You are much richer than me, I only have a 5 billion dollar note 😂😂
Damn. Zim creating trillionaires everyday... 🔥🔥
The 100 trillion dollar note is really only worth about half of a US dollar.
not in the flea market i was in :) Mizungu prices
