I'm from Ukraine but I fully agree with you. We don't want the whole Europe to feel pity. We want to show Europe our strength, that we are free and unbroken. We want to show our culture, the beauty of our melodic language and represent country on a high level. Don't vote if you don't like the song. It would be unfair.
Exactly! It's also very disrespectful to the band to pity vote for them. Imagine how you'd feel if you wrote a song and realised most people pretended to like your work because they feel sorry for you. I'd personally feel terrible. Have some respect for the band and be honest about your vote.
