XR is underrated. It's cheap, it has the A12 Bionic which has the new security Processor that the 16 also has. It's 6years old and got iOS 18 and is as secure as the newest models. Yeah it's slow here and there but it is really underrated.
14 Pro deserves a higher spot. It introduced a much better camera both on the front and the back, a huge screen upgrade up to twice as bright as the 13 Pro Plus the AOD, the A16 was also a decent improvement over the A15. Literally all it lacks to be a 16 Pro is AI and the 2gb of extra RAM same can't be said about the 13pro. 13 Pro is an S tier, 14 Pro made it even better, which we don't see from Apple, definitely A or B tier. Also, the XS was a huge performance upgrade over the X, the A12Z could run full-blown macOS and got a lot more updates, it's in fact still supported.
I’ve had iPhones as my only smartphones I ever owned for the past 10 years and before my current phone I’ve owned the 4, 5S, and 6. My current phone is the 8 Plus that I’ve owned for four years and I’m going for the 15 which is a major upgrade for me. When it comes to the USB-C charging, that’s not too much of a problem for me because I own a PS5 so I have to make sure to get charging cables for the controllers anyway.
At the time, it was probably the best phone on the market for that price considering the galaxy 9 and note 9 were almost double the price and the regular 10 and 10s were as well. It was less than half the price as every other phone on the market but still had insane specs for the price
The 12 Pro is definitely F tier, undoubtedly a solid phone, but the issue is that it offered nothing new over the 11 Pro. The 13 Pro is everything the 12 Pro should've been in the first place, starting with the 120Hz refresh rate. If the 12 Pro had been the 13 Pro, it would have been a great upgrade over the 11 Pro. Although, the regular 12 models were a significant upgrade over the 11 is can't be too mad about that cycle.
Gonna disagree about the 6. Bendgate was over-hyped. The idea of paying with ApplePay was so cool. I remember visiting a railway station shop, and paying with my phone, like look at me, smartarse! I heard the shop girls giggling, like, “he just paid with his phone!” So I went back in, bought a pack of polo mints and paid with my watch!! 😂😂😂 Yeah I know ApplePay was retro fitted on the 5s, but I didn’t have one of those. I had a 6, and for me, paying on your device, was/is, the absolute future. Definitely A-Tier. Same with the 6s, which I also had. I also LOVED the XR. I got a 15 on contract in 2023. I was a bit miffed and made a video about the great 48MP deception - it’s really 12MP with some computational jiggery pokery that second guesses what actual 48MP looks like. Get a Mirrorless SLR with 48MP and compare the results. No comparison. I am now even more annoyed at the 15 because it’s literally the only full fat product that CANT do Apple Intelligence - the CPU matters, because Apple just binned the feature list by keeping the lower gen processor. And they did it just to piss people off.
I had no idea that Bendgate even happened the whole time I owned an iPhone 6. As I always do with every phone I own, I always have it in a case so that might’ve been my saving grace right there before I even knew it happened at all. For me it was an upgrade over the 5S although for the most part it did feel like a better version of it and it was an upgrade of memory from 16 GB I had on both the 4 and 5S to 32 GB on the 6. When I got my current phone with the 8 Plus four years ago, I felt like it was so huge of an upgrade at the time from the bigger screen size, the features, and the battery as well as the memory being 128 GB which I wasn’t even expecting to get that much extra. I’m getting ready now to buy the 15 and I know it’s going to be an upgrade like I’ve never had before.
@@lakerskid2013 Buy a 16 if you can. The brand new Apple Intelligence features are not available on the 15. This is what has made me cross. I feel that Apple knew that AI wouldn’t work on the 15 last year, but chose not to tell us at the time. I can’t afford to get the 16 rn as I have a contract with 3 years to run on it. I just assumed that with the 15 being latest tech, it would be able to accommodate whatever Apple threw at it for a good few years after. Just like the XR being able to update to iOS 18. I doubt whether the 15 will update for as many years. It’s gutting that even after 1 year, the 15 won’t be able to do whatever new phones can. I have an M1 iPad from 4 years ago that can accept Apple Intelligence.

The traditionalist in me likes the mute button for the 15 as well and I don’t give a care about the AI stuff. I’m also not a really big fan of the camera button although I do see how it’s appealing for others. The iOS updates should still work for as long as I need the phone and I’m buying the phone full price so it’ll be completely mine, I’ve never been into making monthly payments on a phone. Heck even my subscriptions I have like Amazon Prime and PlayStation Plus I pay yearly for, just one big hit and actually save more in the long run. If I could do RUclips Premium as a yearly option I would do that too.
@@halfcurrylet most of things i do on my phone are capped at 60fps so for me it's not a deal breaker. insta runs at 60 max, youtube runs at 60 max, games run at 60 max. reading text doesn't need 120Hz. but for people who can use it i feel the pain.

I have the 8+ in A-tier; I love being able to use it on its side like a tablet, and it was the last iPhone that was able to do that
