Beyond AVGN and Monster Madness and everything James Rolfe has created, just his career in general is very inspirational. I remember watching a film in which James mentions he would like to be remembered as one of the great names in film making, or something along that line. I don't know if you could call the genre amateur at this point maybe online videos or something? Either way whatever the genre is I would think James Rolfe is the Father of it at this point.

how many youtube people can you think of that has been doing this for 8 or more years? I would have to say "classic game room" is one of the pioneers of this genre for video game reviews or discussion type videos.
The Nerd also did the TMNT review with the Nostalgia Critic, and that was 100% written by Doug Walker I think.

I LOVE the AVGN-PAT duo! It freaking rocks! Both are great by them selves, but when they in an episode, OMG, that´s hilarious!
I did start watching Pat after the NWC episode and it's been very cool to see the big difference in his subscribers now.
Pats a trooper for getting back on topic after Mike interrupts and digresses.

My favorite AVGN episodes were the intellivision and Sega CD episodes, they were informative and funny something I always enjoyed most from the nerd.
Props to the double vision song.
I do love that version of the AVGN song, back when Kyle still played a somewhat big role besides the Let's Plays you see him in now sometimes.

The Pat and James calibration is actually my favourite of all the AVGN episodes. The background music was exceptionally special and was always a favourite of mine. I was sort of familiar with Pat at this point however it was the Nerd episode where Pat and Ian went mainstream for me and where I religiously started following Pat and Ian's work.

I am ignorant to a good 75% of what they are talking about but I absolutely love their undying passion for collecting.
I wish James and Mike would go back to doing their episodes together. I actually liked those more than the AVGN episodes.
Go back to the AVGN days!! Keep that theme going!
I'm glad there is so much respect between parties and I agree with James' ending. it's kind of a funny thought that the nerd could push the calm and somewhat timid Pat the NES Punk character to be so aggressive and violent.
Wow I had not even realized that the show has evolved since it started, but that's a Good thing! It's been a seamless transition into a more deep character. Good job 👌🏼👌🏼

Wait... Did Mike say they just finished filming episode 149 of AVGN (at least when this interview was recorded)? Because only up to episode 140 is out currently! I mean I 100% understand the concept of staggering releases, but I wasn't aware they staggered releases that far out...
Either way, this is some great news for AVGN fans for certain. That means we 100% have 9 more episodes on the way eventually, and considering that I know many fans are worried about the series just kind of stopping, knowing that there is that much content out there being worked on or even ready to release is a great reassurance.
Anyhow, I love this series and it's always great to hear cool behind the scenes stuff from both Pat and Mike. I hope they do another interview together (or some sort of similar content) some time in the future!

Wait.. so Mike says they just shot #149 the other day. This video was uploaded in August of 2016. 149 actually came out in October of 2017. Am I wrong or is that an enormous post-production span? I know they produce a lot in advance, but damn...
It's really hard to find time to play as much as used to as you get older. Trying to collect older stuff has gotten way expensive. I would love a complete PlayStation vita collection as its one of my favorite systems but damn those short print games. Love both of these channels keep it up
Yup..it gets tough as you get older. I have a vita also and I love it..I collect also, but not for completeness. I collect mostly PlayStation games I'm a little over 300 across my ps1,ps2,PSP,ps3,ps4,vita. And Im a proud owner of a sealed copy of crisis core ff7 for PSP. And sealed copy of ace combat 5 for ps2.
and the short print games are small in file size, I'd rather have bigger games like revelations 2 and Helldiver's and SSD. I know of play asia, but I want to play online and get dlc for my region

Don't know if you are joking or not but he sure meant Episode 139. AVGN is not filmed in seasons but rather per episode.
I keeps wondering when AVGN will meet Mike (I mean the character). In the episode where AVGN played games about him, he made it clear that he doesn't know Mike. It would be interesting to see their meetup considering that James and Mike are almost like best friends. lol

No OG Xbox!? that surprises me considering. Such a great console and so much you can do with it. I have two and i am thinking about a third.
There should be more avgn episodes with Pat. I think he is a really interesting character, because he is basically the complete opposite of the nerd. While the nerd is really harsh and negative when playing games, Pat tries to see only the positive things in everything.

Mike is horrible for talking over someone when they are trying to answer a question!!
Mike is very spontaneous and just likes to keep the conversation going. If he knows how the other person is going to finish their sentence, then he says something else. That's just the way he is. It works for me.

I found this a little tough to get through. Pat was constantly interrupted when talking, I know we need to get this show on the road and not waste people's time, but a pause for someone to talk. The interview just felt rushed trying to hit 20 topics, when 5 would have allowed for a natural dialogue collaboration. The excitement was fun to watch, but some random nobodies on the internet constructive criticism. Cheers.
