great video, what a side stoke had in the 70's, some truly great players, should have been champions in 1975, the best team for me with all due respect to derby who did win it
are you the Harry Burrows that played for stoke city if you are i would like to say you were so underrated. My first away game was Blackpool away you scored a freekick for stoke in a 1-1 draw
Thanks Harry for putting this lot together. Great Memories of The Potters at their very Best. George Easthams Goal to win the League Cup,Fantastic. Greenhoff,Banks and Smith are the guys I Remember.👍🇬🇧
Hudson said Waddington had the local fire brigade water the pitch to protect his knee..but i loved those old pitches that would tear up by November..if you had close control and body strength, those pitches were a joy to play on..
You probably dont care but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost the account password. I love any assistance you can give me
Yes we had a great 👍 Team at Stoke City and we were just so Beautifully Brilliant at Times and we Enjoyed the great Times at Stoke so Fantastic what a great Team and they were just the Best. Thanks to Tony Waddington. Come on Stoke.
Stoke had some very good players and were a formidable team, but the real star was Tony Waddington. What he achieved on a limited budget was truly outstanding. The late 60’s and early 70’s was certainly a very good period to be a Stoke supporter. They always used to play ‘Simon Smith and his Amazing Dancing Bear’ before every game. I even remember one Saturday for some weird reason Stoke played an England XI in a friendly game. I’m not even a Stoke fan....my dad worked in Stoke and we liked to go to the football whenever we could...(even watched Crewe v Southend once). Good days for The Potters.
did spend alot on shilton from what ive heard, was Shilton a bad signing for stoke ? it seems he wasnt very well liked, seemed to do pretty well top 5 finnish 75 ,from what ive seen was top quality , Hudson slates him must of given him bad racing tips
@@yippyialeftside8351 Shilton was the top goalie but everyone loved Gordon Banks of course so it was a hard act to follow. Probably slipped Hudson a couple of bad ones at Uttoxeter! 😂😂
I never realised what a top player John Ritchie was in 2 spells scored loads of goals, great skill underrated or what, certainly from the general football cheer leeders , I'm not a stoke fan but love there 70s sides, those 2 fa cup semi's must of been heartbreaking 71 72 , Alan Dodd heard great things about him , and Conroy what a player, was it 5 0 v Arsenal 70 71 what a performance against the Double winners, greatest performance ever by a Stoke team?
my grandad is the cousin of Denis Smith however I think it is brother or even twins they look identical you wouldn't really tell the difference however great to have football blood in my family

Fantastic memories of what was then a great team of players. Those that wear the red & white today are truly not worthy.
Alan Hudson still pops in a couple of pubs around stoke ,great football in them days👍
Wow amazing to see this
Great Days
Heroes all.
My nan used to go school with Alan dodd
Greenhoff was top drawer!!
And he didn't play for England. Criminal. Down to Don Revie
Hudson,s the best player I ever saw live

No John Marsh
Most of them would still walk into our current team.Well,at least Conroy,Greenhoff and Hudson. They`d play for most clubs best sides though.
Yellow strip was shocking
What's that high energy, punk sounding music that I can hear in the background? Sounds like Alien Sex Fiend but I doubt it!
Alien Sex... who? I hear you ask!
1975
The penalty should have been retaken for encroachment
