I had one over the weekend from work and it has to be one of the best cars on the market today for drivers. It will definitely be looked back on in the future as one of the last bastions of sport sedans for drivers

You don't need Blackwing power or torque to drift in snow. That car is RWD. A CT5 V Series V6 would be equally capable in snow.
This is more BMW than BMW today! V8, MT, RWD = Perfect, fun and simple. Nice one Cadillac!
I agree with you about this over the C8. Instantly when you started getting on it I could sense how special it felt. It really eggs you on to play with it more and more.

Hitting almost 80 in 2nd gear is wild to me as a miata owner lmao. I'm at like 4200-4500 rpm for that in 6th. I Love my car but the CT5-V Blackwing is one of my all time dream cars, I hope I get the chance to drive one!
We really could use an Autobahn equivalent for all of these capable vehicles in America. This. Thing. Can. Not. Breath. On public roads. I would absolutely have to get a more aggressive final drive ratio for something like this on the street- 80 MPH in 2nd is a bit too much for safe, legal fun.

This is the last proper V8 Sports sedan, this is a drivers car, the rest are just rapid traffic.
The thing about GM: They can put out crap as hell but when they don't fail, they truly do not fail in any way, shape or form.
That looked like a ton of fun! The sound of that V8 is intoxicating.
Was just talking about how special a car this is yesterday and turn Tedward on and WOW he's reviewing the V8 King! I love manuals and I was feeling how exciting and special this is to drive! Manual V8 USA doesn't get any better! Respect the drive!

The CT5-V Blackwing 6-speed manual will go down as the greatest sports sedan ever made. The BMW M5 CS may have better lap times etc but it’s sterile in comparison.
M5 CS is faster on the street, not the track. CT5-V Blackwing beat M5 CS at Willow Springs and M5 Comp at VIR.

Ted, you need to go to Germany, rent one of these Cadillac’s, and go full out on the autobahn for hours on end. You do see certain Cadillac’s and Corvette’s on the autobahn quite often.

I remember that '81 Trans Am with the crate motor. This Black Wing has that same sort of utterly mental wild animal. Lots of drama with great suspension to put down the power. The Cadillac is too much fun.

The car and the video is so good I came back a day after to watch it once more.
Importing US cars to Europe makes it quite expensive to the point where Corvettes for example are considered a rather exotic sports car here in the eastern part and some solid spec Escalade is $50k+ more expensive than brand new high spec X7/X5M or $30k more than RSQ8, but if I ever got to the point where I could comfortably afford importing some US cars, this one would make the list together with a C8 Vette and a Viper, preferably ACR.
I've been in love with red CTS-Vs for a while now and although I prefer it's looks over the CT5-V, I would take the CT5-V over it every single time now. To me it looks like it's already more popular than the CTS-V, I bet the parts will be more accessible in the future and the option to get the manual is just a cherry on top. I'm all for automatic transmissions in daily commuters and the CT5-V would be a lovely one for that but one thing I do not care a tiny bit about when it comes to all the sports sedans & wagons is the launch, some sprints times and precision. This is why I no longer have interest in the Germans such as RS6, M5 or E63 because if I ever were to have my pockets so deep that I'd buy a boat of such size as a daily commuter, I wouldn't care about the precision and ability to beat basically every single thing from one light to the next one. The fun factor on the long way back home is the thing that matters to me. RWD + 6 speed manual in a nearly 2 tonnes American yacht with far over 600hp on board seems like a perfect choice that ticks all boxes for me (almost... I wouldn't want to drive it in winter if that was my only car though).

I just wish there was a Blackwing that was more practical and accessible. So, the ATS used to have a 2.7L four banger, so I'd love to see a CT5-V Blackwing six speed with that smaller engine, and AWD

@@TedwardDrives Honestly, no. That one is a smaller car and a twin turbo V6 3.6L - I'm talking about taking the 2.7L turbo four banger from the ATS, and putting it into the CT5-V Blackwing, ... with AWD and six speed manual.
ATS had a 2.0T. the 2.7T came in with the CT4

If I did drive, a traditional manual would be a pain. I have Cerebral Palsy and I walk and talk fine. My left side is weaker, so my left foot has never any good at clutches. So, I will take the auto all day because This Cadillac is literally two tons of fun.

The only thing that keeps me from buying is that I'm told it's worthless in snow. I need a car to be able to deal with snow and ice, as my driveway is inclined. My MB C63S with snows couldn't deal with it and I'm sure this would be no better. But it looks awesome and I'm sure I'd be thrilled with it in normal weather.

I drive a 2017 Audi A3 Quattro Premium Plus (S-Line, making it a glorified all wheel drive GTI sedan with an S3 body kit), and while I know it's all wheel drive unlike this Caddy, I appreciate your very evident passion blip on sporty/sport sedans. Honestly, I have a preference for them over coupes. Yes, being married, with a salaried professional career and family planning coming soon are variables in my preference for them, but atm, I can't see myself interested in anything with 2 doors. It's MUCH easier in terms of subtlety and practicality 😂

I drove one of these cross country. Let me tell you it was the most fun one could have while still having your clothes on! I would sell my vette for one of these. I would pull up to one of those obnoxious mopars all over the roads. Then I would open up my exhaust. The guys in the mopars would be looking all over trying to see where that aggressive exhaust was coming from😂.

If only they offered a caddy with the standard LT1 6.2L from the camaro. It'd probably be a sick middle ground above the V6 but without the supercharger.

They could've done better on that dashboard, but you know I hate the current trend. Manual V8 though, hell yeah. Sounds proper too. And it's kinda incognito, it doesn't have huge wings etc.

Great review. For me, this would be a felony incident within 3 weeks. How can you commute this sanely? Would you give up your E39 and 911 for one of these? What of your fleet would you give up for one? And what about your house goals?
