  • I found this bumper on an old Friday the 13th part 6 VHS recorded off TV.
I've spent years looking for these online, as I remembered them from childhood, but I haven't come across them anywhere..and I mean ANYWHERE. I know there were commercial bumpers for all 8 of the paramount releases, as this was a marathon they did years ago, but so far I've only recovered this one.
It's pretty funny and if I come across any more of these in my VHS collection, I'll post them so others can watch and possibly remember this.
DISCLAIMER: Clearly, I don't own this footage. Just wanted to unearth something that seems lost in the past.

I remember when they did that marathon for new year's eve in 1999 back when they got Paramount back. They even were the exclusive home for the Jarvis movies in the 80s.

Oh my god, I’m so happy someone else recognized it! I used to have the whole thing recorded but that’s long gone. :( (Your username and picture rules, btw)

Aw this is a great find! Oh man, I miss this goofy/sorta-clever kind of thing back in the day. I remember one on Cartoon Network where they did a _Blair Witch_ parody starring the Scooby Doo gang where they composited original animation over live-action shaky, horror-movie-style found footage. They actually did a real good job with it - it was, like, an event that aired new footage throughout October for a Halloween thing. I feel like the late 90's/early 2000's were loaded with clever little things like this to air as bumpers or during commercial breaks.
I really appreciate these kinds of ideas, even if they're a little cheesy. I don't think I'll ever be the kind of annoying person to be like, "Ugh. TOTAL CHARACTER ASSASSINATION! How dare they treat this treasured franchise like this!" (like the people up-in-arms over Robocop being the current Colonel Sanders in KFC ads, lol) - that kind of person is zero fun to be around :P

I REMEMBER THE SCOOBY-DOO WITCH PARODY! There’s a chance I have that on vhs somewhere too. I recorded a LOT of CN and Adult swim as a kiddo.

@@genyfear Oh, same here! Toonami/Midnight Sun stuff alone have to take up dozens of tapes. And if they didn't air on Boomerang currently or have online streaming presence, I'd probably _still_ have a VCR set up just so I could watch old eps of Courage and Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy :)
Unfortunately, I bet they probably all look like garbage now, come to think of it. I should probably have moved those VHS's into sturdier containers than the cardboard boxes they're currently residing in years ago :P

I really wish I had the other bumpers (I think there were 7 others that played before each movie), but those are long gone. I’m hoping someday someone else posts the others, but as of now it’s lost media.

You know what's probably 1 of my favorite horror movies, Wrong Turn 2003, if you haven't seen that I'd recommend you give it a go, I've known it for nearly 10 years now when my old friend showed it to me and it is way my type of gory guts horror film. 😈 Trailers right here for a teaser ruclips.net/video/naUUyD-_oPc/видео.html
