HELLO TO CHAD AND JOLENE ** it’s Sarah, the wife of ‘the guy with the beard (Arron)’ haha! Sorry this post isn’t coming sooner. It was lovely to meet y’all and I’m so happy to see the car getting so much attention and new life. To all the viewers, Wayne is my uncle and he was never told the car was going to a museum. My husband mentioned to Wayne that chad keeps his car collection after he puts his touch on them. Wayne had watched his videos before Chad had even come to see the car. There was no misleading and there should be no hard feelings towards chad as that was never the case. When you buy something, it belongs to the BUYER to do with WHATEVER they can dream up. Our family is THRILLED to see the car coming back to life and my son Isaac has been watching every video with excitement! Hope to see the old Hudson after it’s makeover some day!! ❤ keep up the good work!!

We had an old Hudson that sat in our barn for about 40 years. My dad got it from his grandmother. He drove it for a bit, but he didn’t really like it. He liked V8’s and power brakes. He sold it to a buddy that was into Hudson’s. I saw it a couple years later at a car show. It was nice to see someone using and enjoying it.

I have chopped, channeled, sectioned, slammed, lifted, shortened, lengthened, and cut up many cars and trucks, but NEVER anything rare, and refused to cut many original good vehicles customers asked me to. Just because you are acquiring more responsible cash doesn't mean buy vehicles that are rare or pristine and cut them. May lose quite a few fans if you buy nice stuff and cut up

My Dad owned a 36 4 Dr during WW2 and hauled workers back and forth to the shipyard is South Portland Maine for about 4 years. He’d haul a bunch to the yard, they would work about 10 to 14 days, then come home. Working 12 hour days. 36 miles each way. After the war he sold it for the same money because metal was at a premium. Nice nice grille!! Thanks Chad!

Scrolling through the comments, it seems that there's a strong encouragement to restore it. It is indeed a unique car, Hudson's were in many ways ahead of their time in innovations and body styles. As you well know restorations can be pricey, especially interiors and chrome work. It's your now, to do with it as you will and envision. I'm glad you are off to Australia for a holiday, it will give you time to weigh the pro's and cons of modify or restore. That horn under the hood is going to sound so cool. The brits used to call them Claxton's. Can wait to see Jim's reaction to it. Thanks to Jolene for another great video. Good to see Fina get her usual cameo appearance.

This is awesome. When I was 15 my grandfather bought one for me that sat on the side on the road 25 years ago. Mine was the exact same as yours. I restored it as I worked as stock boy. Now I scored a 68 charger a few years ago. I helped my buddies neighbor that's in her 80 open up her garage door and there it was. Her husband passed away 20 year's ago and it's been sitting in the garage. She said I could have it for 1500, I told her it was worth 20k the way it sat. She had no family her kid's. I had to fight with her too take 5k. The only rust is under the vinyl top. I've only change the fuel tank, cap, wires, plug and the fluids and it started up

I agree with lots of fans that it would be a sin to cut the car up. Please let’s see you have it in you to do a restoration. I picked up a 46 Studebaker an was going to doll it up. When I saw it couldn’t do it. Keeping it all original. Runs great and is a survivor. That Hudson is the same. Once it is modified the damage is done and history is destroyed.

A great video really enjoyed watching, reminds me of the days when my Brother and I use to do the same thing, going out looking for rare cars in and around Michigan and other states. We are a owner of a 1940 Hudson. Great job, I like your sense of safety, safety comes first.

very nice find. when I was kid in Michigan in the fourties and fifties, Hudson teraplains where popular on short short dirt race tracks, they were hell for tough. That help make then even more rare. that happened all over the midwest.

I have been restoring old cars since I was 14 years old , I have a great apreciation for good builds others have done yours as well but I also like preserving some history and restoring some cars back original or real close to original that are rare or very unique , this car is a fine example , I wouldn't cut it up , it has very cool lines as it is .

I think you should ask and do research as to how many of these might still exist BEFORE making a decision as to restore/ restmod or full on custom. Check with some clubs and or registries. I have a feeling it may be quite rare.

The old guy thinks it's getting restored but everyone knows how many coat hangers are going into this historic peace of machinery

The glass in the front doors of the Hudson Terraplane: in 1965 my first car was a one-owner 1935 4 door Terraplane. My friend had a 1934 Terraplane and her front doors had hinged quarter windows. After you wound down her front door windows you could also wind down the quarter windows if you wanted to have a clear open window. I believe the quarter windows were an option on the '34 and '35. My car had windows like yours and the "tricky" part was after I wound the window up to the top of the door frame the next turn of the winder made the glass move forward horizontally and completely seal against the window frame. When you were making glass for the door you had a gap which you thought would be cured by welding in a piece of steel. Not necessary! The flat piece of steel attached to the trailing edge of the window frame is there to allow the forward movement of the glass and not leave a gap on the trailing edge of the window frame. Appreciated the time you gave on the show to your Australian trip. I don't think Nth Americans are aware of how big the classic car hobby is here. Finally, think you were way too hard on yourself on the front guard placement of the spare wheel. My '35 had a brilliant factory lockable support bracket for that spare wheel.
