I actually do a thing similar to what you do with Kemosabe to take out my chinchillas. One of them is very stressed (she was around children before I got her, so I'm guessing that's why), and she doesn't like it when we touch her. When I want to take her out to play, I show her the crate and she'll just go in it, and I release her in the play room. It made everything a lot less stressful for everyone :) She learned quickly that 'crate = humans will not touch me'.
This is the cool thing about youtube. I had no idea this species existed, and now I've seen one enjoying a banana. Check "saw a cool porcupine" off the list for today.

sorry for your cat. I held my last one while driving to the vet and he died in my arms.. Not gonna lie, I burst into tears while parking and still walked in with him. The Vet Techs, Vet and surprisingly some of the people in line were tearing up as I'm saying "I think he died in my arms, but I'm no Vet, please help." Thinking back on it know, seems so pathetic, how I just walked past the two or so people waiting, as if their animals had to take a back seat and mine needed treatment "it seemed to my sobbering, bum" first. Pets are great, especially if you have a great connections, but it feels like someone has ripped your heart out if one dies under your care and your doing everything the Vet says. I hope not too many go through that.

+kujmous There isn't just one pronunciation. I have two friends that pronounce in "Win", and others that pronounce it similar to what ZeFine said. Only way to know how they pronounce it is to ask.

I was thinking like using them in a dream catcher or possibly a necklace or a very unique zipper pull.....I think ppl would buy such things (bringing in add'l funds for those bananas). Just an idea... EDIT: I'm assuming that he sheds quills routinely....I certainly don't mean to just take them off of him!

I love checking in on Kemosabe videos. Just to see how he is doing. I always reminds me of a personal encounter with a porcupine as a teenager. At about 10 pm I had been walking home from a friends place and had taken short cut across the local hospital lawn. There was a wooded area in behind the hospital. From the street lamps light I could see an animal; that I could not quite identify; approaching from the opposite direction. I was about half way across the lawn when I realized it was a porcupine. Out of curiosity I spoke of softly "What doing there guy". The porcupine changed direction and sauntered towards me. I thought to myself this is kind of weird and cool. So I squatted down and kept gently talking to the curious creature. He/she approached within arms length and sat up his/her haunches and sniffed the air. I kept softly talking to the relaxed rodent and wished I had had a piece of bread or an apple to offer my prickly friend. This continued on for maybe 5-10 mins and then I slowly rose and walked around creature to continue on my way. My new friend took a couple tentative steps to follow me and then turned and waddled off to his/her original direction. I finished my walk home with a smile on my face.
Wait? Bouncy poop? Did you talk about this in a previous video? Although it might be a weird subject, but as far as I know animal poop tells a lot about a species, could you dedicate an episode to it? :D
I didn't think about that! I assumed she meant it was pelleted, great question! (For a second my mind fastened on wombat poop and its square qualities, had to correct myself mentally but got me curious to learn more!)

Kemosabe completely ignores her. Sera likes watching him eat his food or just perching up there and being part of whatever's going on.
