    I think it would be interesting to hear your ideas for an adults-only trip to Disney and if there's anything you love about the parks that aren't very popular!

    Something you forgot to mention is with a large group, try not to all walk side-by-side as a wall and try to stay two-by-two or single file and not block the other guests from trying to get around your group. Large groups for the most part are first timers at Disney and they tend to just stop and look around and stop traffic dead in it's tracks.

      This is something that is extremely frustrating! I'm glad you mentioned this. The video just mentioned being mindful and respectful of other guests. Not obstructing foot traffic goes a long way to accomplishing that.

    word of caution on matching shirts = Florida is always hot and days are always long. Please remember (for everyone else's sake) to still have enough clothing to last through the entire trip, otherwise you will be smelling your mistake.

    Yes, all of these tips! Just did a family reunion of ten people ages 70-12, and communication was key. We used the groupme app to keep everyone on the same page as to where people were, confirming reservations, etc. My husband and I were the Disney veterans who were sort of the tourguides as you reallly don't want 10 wandering and confused about where to go next. Also, getting some time alone from the group was really important- we love our family, but a few days in, you need a break :D. Also, the Memory Maker for such a large group was a good value for us to split. At the end of the trip, each subgroup put their pics on a google drive so we could see all the pics.

    If I were the "group leader" (lol), I think the first rule would be to prioritize and minimize the schedule of "everyone, at the same place, at the same time" events; maybe a few special dinner reservations, or a particular show/parade. Everything else should be much more flexible and small group oriented to avoid hours of arguing over making a schedule that pleases everyone. Keep asking yourself "does everyone *have* to do this together? really? why?" I'd also approach the trip with the mindset that this isn't going to be a "spend as much time in the park, doing as much as possible, as many days as possible"; instead pick a few must-do rides or events and enjoy the rest as "family time that happens to be in the park".

    Last year I went with my whole family including my cousins and grandpa. My advice is don’t plan a ton of events. Try to take things as slow as possible while still keeping everyone entertained. Otherwise you will end up running all over the place. Also try to stay in the same resort and get rooms as close as possible. One year we got rooms all next to each other and that was really helpful!

    We were a group of 7 adults and a set of 2 1/2 year old twins for a week in May of 2016. We were able to stay in a Grand Villa at Old Key West Resort using DVC points rented from an owner. It was wonderful for all of us to be in the same "house!" We had multiple family meetings to figure out exactly what we wanted to do and where we wanted to eat. We did a lot of buffet meals; both because of the characters and because the twins were free when eating off our plates. We were there for 7 nights (6 days) and had 5-day hopper passes. Our one day off was wonderful - sleeping in (except for my nephew & his wife - parents to toddlers, lol), going swimming, and then to Downtown Disney for shopping and dinner. I made up a small spreadsheet with all of our fastpasses and dining reservations on it which I then copied & laminated for all the adults in the party. That plus texting between us worked great to keep everyone organized and together when it was important.
    Organization is KEY - we're hoping to plan another trip within the next couple years - but we'll have to work the schedule around school breaks as the twins will be starting school next year.

    You don't understand how much this will help me!!! Next year, the advanced choir at the high school I'll be going to is heading to Disney World!!! I've been super excited and wanted to help plan for my friends' trip as well. Some of them have never been to Disney, and most others haven't been since they were little. I want to make sure everyone has the greatest time while we're there.
    (Also, if you've been wondering, yes Aj. You do actually have younger fans... I'm not sure how many people my age would admit to spending their free time watching Disney planning videos...)

    This applies! We recently took our family of ten! We scored free dining which helped so much since we pay out so much for tickets and two rooms. We only could score at Be our Guest and it was lovely (Breakfast) ... We liked using quick service for the speed of things and using the online ordering through the Disney app, it was lovely as we would all find a place to sit, wait on the meal to be prepared and dad and the big kids would go grab our trays of food while we already had our table! Such a great thing! We are going to go back and definitely call to book more places for our 2020 Trip.
    The 180 days in advance is so true, otherwise getting on a restaurant is hard to come by. We are too big for "Family suites" or even the cabins...
    We stayed at the Old Nickelodeon Hotel (for a day) now owned by Holiday Inn I believe and it was mega huge and half the price of Disney.. however of course, no dining plan or nice transportation. But it wasn't bad! We stayed nine days onsite at Disney .... I think our next trip might have to involve renting a home because of how big our family is. Thanks for the ideas! We had an amazing time this past September with our blessings!

      Lucky you!! My parents said we aren’t going anywhere this year and I’ll have to wait like 3 more years till Disney again. :( anyways.. I recommend not waiting in line for 2 hours on avatar. The rides are fun however short and not worth the super long wait. Go on expedition Everest at animal kingdom it’s a lot of fun. Hollywood studios and Epcot are good parks to split in a day. Hollywood has Tower of Terror and Arrow Smith (the Rockin Rollercoaster) which are both really fun. They have plenty of other shows and attractions there too. Epcot has around the world places and other rides like Fast Track and Mission to Mars. Also the Frozen ride in Norway I believe. Magic Kingdom has soooo much stuff to do. I recommend sparing 2 days for Magic Kingdom since there are so many rides. Don’t rush yourself trying to go on rides! Take your time in Magic Kingdom. The best rides there are... Oof idk. Splash mountain, space mountain, Thunder Mountain are all really great ones. But there’s soo much to do there. Overall just enjoy the moment and don’t rush your vacation because before you know it, you have one last day at Magic Kingdom. Good luck and hopefully you can go

    • @chuualwayswins
      @chuualwayswins 5 лет назад

      Harry Potter Fan 707 make sure to get fastpasses beforehand on the attractions a lot of people wait in line for - ex) any ride from toy story land, any ride from the land pandora, space/splash/big thunder mountain, seven dwarves, peter pan’s flight, test track; for hotels if you want to save money i preferably would check the all-star hotels and anything that is moderate in pricing. contemporary and grand floridian are usually pricy. have a great trip!

    We went with 11 ppl. 5 kids and 6 adults. WHAT A BLAST! We got all the ADR we wanted and all the FastPasses we wanted. We were surprised by the gratuity for groups os 6 or more so that was not budgeted for and our only disappointment. Large groups are great fun and we can't wait to do it all again in 2020.

    I am about to take my 8th group of middle schoolers to WDW to perform! I think you could do a whole video on taking a school trip!! Here's a few tips from our experiences:
    1. Always have a meeting place for the chance a kid gets separated and can't get in touch.
    2. We give a short list of "non-negotiable experiences " to our chaperones who may not be as Disney obsessed. (Fantasmic, walk through Pandora after dark, castle show fireworks/projection, Festival of the Lion King, Soarin', etc)
    3. Rainforest cafe does a great large group meal for a good price
    4. Hire security (separate from hotel security) to monitor the hotel halls so chaperones can sleep in peace to recharge
    5. Give kids a business card sized, laminated copy of chaperone phone numbers to keep in wallets in case something happens and the phone is dead!
    6. On the Magic Kingdom day, we always get the kids a voucher for their meal. There isn't a group dining option for a group of our size and leaving/coming back would take FOREVER. There are great options and it is totally worth the $20.
    I love your videos. I've been watching for about 6 months now and I just love all of the concise and helpful info. ♡

    As always a wonderful review. You have given us some great tips.
    We go to WDW every other year with 17 people for a week. The whole group goes into one park two days a week. For the other 5 days each family goes on their own. Most days we schedule pool/nap time at the resort in the afternoon or evening. It is always a great trip.

  • @teriyoung149
    @teriyoung149 5 лет назад +3

    Point; everyone has their own opinion on what is a "large group". Everyone should know that unless you have booked ten (10) rooms or more... the "groups" department at Disney will not help you! I had a family reunion of 21 people! But they were staying in seven rooms. The Disney groups department would NOT help in any way! I was pretty disappointed in them!

    Anytime we have a group trip or family reunions we always create a new group on the GroupMe app. It's so awesome! We can track each other down that way people share pictures. It makes communication super simple.

  • @alyoung6088
    @alyoung6088 5 лет назад

    Great Comments & Suggestions (as always!) I've been to WDW several times with groups as small as 9 and as large as several hundred teens. WDW serves each type well, if the people organizing the event are familiar with how to manage their trip or turn things over to professionals to do the management.
    The only unpleasant group excursions I've had to WDW have been when a group appointed one of their own to organize the event (who didn't make reservations or plans well.) With a single family, it's quite easy to decide where to eat quick service at the last minute (with some exceptions-like "Be Our Guest"). When you have more than just a few people, it's quite presumptive to walk up & ask for tables for 100 and expect to do anything other than wait for 2 hours.
    With all plans, there always needs to be the ability to be flexible to adapt to current conditions. Group organizers--do your planning & reservations early (just like AJ says!) but at the same time, be prepared if transportation, accommodations, dining, or health issues disrupt your trip.

    It might just be easier to reserve an entire room at a restaurant if possible.
