I’ve taken my kid to Disney several times and we’ve stayed Deluxe. He discovered All Star Sports all on his own and is now desperate to stay there. So that’s where we’ll be for our trip next month. I don’t mind the value resorts but Pop is usually my go to.
My kid is 11. Giant sports stuff has him more excited than a savannah view or stormalong bay ever did. He’ll spend hours just running on the pretend football field. Probably could’ve saved myself a bunch of money lol.

I’ve been saying the same thing! My daughter loved running around Art of Animation. And also POP, even though she had to ask what a Walkman was…😆 So I advise people with little kids to try those resorts, cause kids love them!

@@parkerwalker5128 they really do! You really have to ask yourself who the trip is for. When I go by myself or with other adults the deluxe resorts are great. With the kid? He just wants a pool to splash in and space to run around and chicken tenders. He doesn’t care about fine dining, he barely cares about the parks lol.

All Star Sports is working through their renovations! I stayed in building 10 in January, and I was told that buildings 6,9,7, and 10 were being updated and that they were starting on the standard rooms soon. My room was very recently redone and it was great, especially at around $130/night!

I enjoyed my stays at both POP Century and Art of Animation. The customer service was a bit lacking, but not extremely so. The rooms were nice and clean, and beautifully nestled by Hourglass Lake. The food is pretty good, and the skyliners give you a quick way to better food. I’d heard it could be loud at those resorts, I did not find that to be the case, and I’m glad I didn’t let those rumors keep me from experiencing those resorts. I would stay at either of them again in a heartbeat!

I was planning a renewal of vows proposal for our 40th, on a Disney cruise with our children/grandchildren so was budgeting ahead. We had stayed at Old Key West, Saratoga Springs (free upgrade from Movies during cheer competition, thank you, again.), Art Of Animation, All Star Movies, ending at All Star Sports. My friend and I stayed at a neighborhood hotel, Wyndham Lake Buena Vista for pretty cheap last November. Probably spent $500ish for 4 nights. Nothing special about the rooms, just a good cheap option if all you care about is a place to sleep at the end of the day. With Disney VISA discount in June $500 is what we will be paying for adults and a 13 year old at Movies. Would have been cheaper at Sports but thumbing won out. No parking or fees. Not sure where your bus dropped you but resort busses take you near park entrance, and, if Disney bus breaks down, they have back-ups (horror stories from friends), time is money.

I'm going to Disney World for the first time in January 2025. As a Canadian, the exchange rate is a pain, so to be able to go for more than 4 days, I have to stay in a value resort. Even if I had the money for it, I don't think I would stay in a deluxe resort, just because I am not going to Disney to stay in my room all day. What matters to me is that the place is clean, to have a place to sleep, shower, and be ready for my next day at the park.

I know I'm not the only one who thinks the Value Resorts at Disney World, are the most heavily themed ones in terms of character or attraction. Right?
They may lack activities, certain amenities and, (barring Pop Century I would say), easy access to the parks or other hotels...but they are the HEAVIEST themed hotels there which...is what I want out of a Disney Hotel, unless I'm looking for certain vibes or sensations, (like with Port Orleans; I could go to either of those hotels easily).
Also, I thought Art of Animation was Moderate, not Value? (I mean it is at least priced higher than Pop Century but still)

I’ve stayed at Art of Animation at DW and the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at DL. (I’ve also stayed at a budget friendly hotel at DL and stayed offsite at DW multiple times) When you look at the lobby at the Grand Californian you think it’s going to be very nice. But the beds were the same quality and room was the same size as when I stayed at Art of Animation. The only nice thing about the hotel was it had its own entrance into California Adventure and a shorter walk to MK. That being said I’ve learned not to spend the big bucks on the illusion of a high scale hotel at Disney. I do prefer to stay at a Disney resort because you can go back to the hotel in the middle of the day and you don’t have to worry about driving anywhere and losing your parking space. Also you don’t have to worry about driving back to your hotel late at night after you FINALLY get back to your car.
