    Thank you. Chasing down the leak I had was quite a task. Yup, under the SC. Now, off to work. All the best!

    2:20 from the point where you say, "OH ya, this piece right here" my car leaks there and dripped Antifreeze on the intake manifold distoying all the seals around the tin part. Anyway, where is a good parts catalog that shows the parts with the part numbers
    I'm having a hard time locating a break-down by item . Can you help me?
    I located the "AIR INTAKE RESONATOR HOSE TUBE for 2013 - 2019 JAGUAR XJ XJL 3.0L RWD C2D17107" now I need to fix the drip.

    Did I hear you say you did NOT have to remove the supercharger to replace the fist hose? I have a 2017 XF that has a leak (I haven't pinpointed the source) that I am afraid is the one you pointed out under the supercharger. The nearest dealer is 300 miles away and the earliest appointment is 2-3 months. I don't want to be without my car waiting on parts and am not afraid to do it myself.

    As someone who has gone through this, do yourself a favor and replace everything with an aluminum version of the thermoplastic pipes. Just do it.

    Hi mate, I’ve got a Jaguar sv8 4.2 supercharged and keep getting lean errors both banks… I can hear a faint hissing from the front if the charger right side underneath, first I thought air inlet breather but seems ok… it there a pipe under the front of the charger on mine? It’s doing my head right in.. long term fuel on tickover is in the 17 range both sides, and the bank 1 maf flow rate is a lot less than bank 2, but cat sensors seem within range

    Just fyi bad news, the updated plastic Y pipe will still fail at the O rings as yours did. That weakness remains. The rear crossover pipe is another ticking time bomb that will eventually fail too. I figure you have 4 years of nearly guaranteed life of these 2 platic coolant pipes. After that, you're on borrowed time.
    I have a 2013 jag xf 3.0. Had the y pipe replaced once on warranty. Year later, out of warranty, the crossover pipe blew (all fluid instantly gone). Replaced that myself and while doing it, replaced the y pipe again. It wasnt leaking yet BUT as i pulled it out, the plastic holding the O ring broke, so it was close to giving up after only a year or so.
    Im about to replace both again, but this time Im using after market aluminum upgrades for the y pipe and crossover although I do have some concerns about the aluminum crossover pipe quality. Not 100% sold that it is better just yet. Gotta pony up the $$$ and buy one to look at it and see if its legit.

      I have the same model and year. Great running car, drivin by my wife. Only 46,000 miles. Rear pipe replaced under factory warranty. Bought an extended warranty which covered the water pump which leaked at 40,000. Ex. warranty wouldn't cover the plastic pipes. Cost $2,300 because of Super Charger removal. Show biz.

    • @jonesjones7057
      @jonesjones7057 3 месяца назад

      @WestCoastDP yep. It is a great engine in every way EXCEPT the plastic crossover and Y pipe but having said that, I replaced both with aluminum in our 2013 XF and 2020 F Pace S and I am confident those will last the lifetime of the vehicles after seeing the quality. So if it ever comes up again, go aluminum aftermarket and let that issue be in the past.

    Have 2015 ftype r, cant smell anti freeze yet but there seems to be a minor leak judging from the resevior tank level. Its minor. Is there any test i could do?

      F type R has the same engine! Matter of time before it goes. Check your antifreeze levels 2x a week for sure. But I suggest change out them pipes. Same exact procedure.

    Plastic pipe splits then replace fair enough shit design. But leaking clamps, you start to see why jag used to use a stop leak formula the coolant from new, or so I’m told. Silly little leaks like that, is a bottle of barrs a bad idea?

    I own a 2009 XF Supercharged and Jaguar must know that space-age-plastics have no place in high performance vehicles. Such action
    reeks of planned obsolescence, which American manufacturers are known for. I thought Jaguars were built with some semblance of integrity.
