    I can tell you guys something. I have IBS for 22 years. Nobody, absolutely nobody can't help on this planet. I've seen several doctors. No answers. 2021 tge medicine is at the bottom of the ocean.
    Now after 22 years after first child I am pregnant finally. My IBS definitely is much worse and I am worrying so much about tge baby.
    One thing I don't understand why a person like me who doesn't drink alcohol, doesn't smoke, and always cooking at home, could have IBS.
    What a life.

    Missing information: DO NOT over-exercise and keep the intensity at low to medium. When you ride your bike, go at a relaxed pace.
    My advice: Listen to your heartrate and pay attention to your breathing. Completely avoid sweating and heavy breathing. If you do sweat, drink extra water. DON'T exercise when you are experiencing moderate - severe symptoms (e.g., during washout in your challenge phase).
    Caffeine can lead to Leaky Gut Syndrome with IBS. Don't do caffeine. It's a poison produced by plants to defend themselves. Why would anyone consume that!? The "beneficial" effects like increased blood flow and bowel movements from drinking coffee is actually your body trying to get rid of the poison that is caffeine. Sweating it out is a common occurrence.
    I have IBS-C and can't do sorbitol. So, why should only IBS-D patients avoid sorbitol!? (Edit: My Leaky Gut Syndrome might be the reason)
    Also, toothpastes often have sorbitol and/or other polyols. Of course, you don't swallow toothpaste, but it will end your day early if your symptoms from sorbitol are as bad as mine. Apparently, nutrients are already absorbed, or in this case, malabsorbed in the mouth and likely on the lips. Washing your mouth multiple times doesn't work.
    My GP is literally useless. I have no idea how she got a med license and her own clinic. Plus, she looks really unhealthy. That's some of the reasons why I completely stopped trusting any 'health professionals' almost 20 years ago. All the doctors in my life called me crazy or they said "It's just in your head." - My response now: No, the pain is not just in my head, also my abdomen, lower back, joints, ... . Even a medical expert who is employed by the city I live in called me crazy.
    2 liters of water a day might not be sufficient for everyone. I need more due to the additional Leaky Gut Syndrome on top of IBS-C. I'm even buying expensive water that has more minerals than the cheap ones.
    Love the accent.

      I know this comment was a year ago ish, but my wife is in your same boat with all of it. Coffee, artificial sweeteners, keep your exercise short, and oh yeah, her totally useless joke of a dr. Get into the little exam room, wait, wait more, speak for 10 min and feel like she's not listening to me at all, leave, take care of everything herself. Every improvement she's made for either her diabetes or ibs has been done with our own action and research.

    • @LeakyGuy
      @LeakyGuy Год назад +1

      @@JBlinky67 Diabetes is very problematic with medical "professionals". They will tell you that you can't cure type 2. But that's wrong. You can cure type 2 by simply changing your diet. A nice side effect of said diet is that it's overall the healthiest you can eat. And tt makes you feel happy and fit.
      Let me update my old comment. There might have been new research.

      You can’t sweat coffee or any other toxins out. The only thing sweat does is cool the body off. Your liver filters toxins.

    Very good advice. I have Ibs almost 35 years. Diagnosis itself took 10 years.ibs s a new disease and many are not aware of it. Each person differs.so try your diet and look for effect.i am still trying. Take small amounts ie eat half full.eat regularly. Don't skip meals.you need to listen to your stomach.any discomfort after food is a sign that the food or amounts did not suit.chicken suts me well.

    Thank you again for such informative video. I was diagnosed with IBS last year after I have suffered from chronic constipation. Still learning about low Fodmap but after the last flared up I had about 2 weeks ago, I am taking it more seriously.
    Saying that, doing research about IBS (and the types C, D or M), I came across with a new topic: SIBO-IMO, which symptoms are so similar. I never heard about it. I belie in taking care of our bodies so I have been taking organic multivitamins for years, including probiotics but now I wonder if I have been feeding the good bacteria and not the bad one 🤔. I think I have had IBS for years but didn't know it. Now that I know, I will make the changes I need to know. IBS pain is not fun! By the way, I prefer following up with my GI than my GP. But I will definitely look for a dietitian, thank you!

      Most of those types of products contain chicory root fibre, which for me at least, made things much worse. ☹️

    • @juliewitt1411
      @juliewitt1411 3 года назад

      There are 2 types of fiber doctors rarely speak of - 1 is bad & 1 is good, but doctors hardly talk on diet since they really do not know. They don't study about it. Naturally, they say, eat more fiber. Doctors today come from the gutrot school of FDA medicine.

    Okay. As a botanist I often wonder what nutritionists classify as "fruits" when they use it as a broad term. Can you clarify this?
    Tomatoes, zucchini, pumpkin, squash, green beans, snow peas, peppers, cucumbers, okra, and so many more are, botanically speaking, fruit. When you say limit "fruits" do you mean all true fruits, and reduce produce consumption to vegetative plant parts: leafy greens, stems, and roots? How do you draw this line for IBS ppl?

    • @didititian
      @didititian  3 года назад +1

      Good question! We often draw the line here at the fruits that are "sweet". The cucumbers/tomatoes etc would be classifieds as "salad vegetables" for this purpose. This is because the sweeter fruits have a higher concentration of fructose, which is the FODMAP in question here.

    In addition to eating regularly and at the same skedule, go to bed and wake up at the same time too and don't sleep throughout the morning, especially when you suffer from constipation, because your bowel movements are better in the morning. Also, eating a good amount of insoluble fiber in my breakfast when I'm having constipation symptoms, works wonders. The water intake and the exercise are crucial! A good way of increasing fiber intake and water consumption is eating soup with lots of vegetable's. These are some things that seem to make it better to manage my symptoms of constipation.

    • @didititian

      Hi Heidi, these are foods that have been reheated. Carbohydrate foods such as potato, rice and pasta can contain a higher amount of "resistant starch" if they have been cooked, and then reheated at a later stage. This type of starch can leave some of us feeling more bloated. Hope this helps. 👍
