Your version of events makes no sense because he would’ve gotten copyrighted for stealing her song. This narrative also doesn’t make sense because she eventually did get on a remix and made the album cut in the same year as well as the music video. Tamia said she heard the song on the radio and was completely blindsided as to why nobody contacted her because she wanted to do the song because they sampled her song….Fab even said when they were recording the song that it would’ve been “dope to get Tamia” but nobody got Tamia, they went and got Ashanti. Somebody messed up and I guess fab had to say this to save face. I saw 106& park whenTamia was interviewed about how she felt about Ashanti singing her song and nobody even asking her to initially be apart of the project and how she ended up doing the video.
So if her song came out before the remix why didn't they just use her vocals from the original song. The person doesn't have to be present to add to a record. Sounds 🐟🐠

The part about throat surgery may or may not be true but I can see why the labor wanted Ashanti on the song. She was literally on Beyoncé’s level in the early 2000s and lived on the charts.
